Gorgeous goods from the world over. Ethereal perfumes of cardamom, jasmine. Lovely & kind proprietor. Yes.

This shop is the best. Get a coffee next door at 4B then head over(Coffee, dogs, kids are OK says the sign on the door) and take a look, especially the art on the walls. You will find something there you have never seen before and probably something else that you didn’t know you absolutely need. The owner has an insane amount of knowledge about … everything. Worth a trip or two or three!

Came upon this shop accidentally on the way to Voyager. Four Barrel sits in between these two shops. The curation of small goods and beautiful smells makes wondering into this place a great experience. I first noticed these interesting pieces of leftover blown glass. Beautiful, great textures, interesting colors. The vibe of this place is just so warm, it’s museum-y, but not in the way that you can’t touch things. It just stuff your grandpa would have, but your cool grandpa that smokes a pipe, smells good, and collected kick ass shit from his awesome life. Eh…am over the SF attitude though. These small gifts shops in the Mission don’t even look up when you walk in. Nor say hello. Really? No one is too cool to smile. She was super nice once we got to the desk to buy something, but prior to that… no interaction in this small square footage store.

I wandered in, not expecting to buy anything, or want to buy, but I found myself poking around for an hour! I bought lovely soaps from Portland Apothecary, a very unique necklace, and a handmade knife with gorgeous rough wood handle. And I could have bought much more! Aaaaand, the manager/saleswoman was soooo nice and sincere. I could definitely live in that space…

I accidentally found myself stumbling into this sweet gem of a shop. It’s antique-y, cozy, and unique. Felt like home. Found some great gems and really enjoyed talking to the owner briefly. New fav. :)

beautifully curated antiques, some very creative displays. however i walked into this place thinking that there would be more jewelry/clothing but it’s mostly cool little trinkets and some other pretty things.

I went there, to the Creativity Explored Art Opening(they were showing some select art pieces inside the Accident & Artifacts store)…I was very warmly received by the owner and associate. Their inventory of old stuff(vintage and antiques) that they have for sale in the store, is all super interesting, charming, affordable… some very unique items! I will be back sooner… rather than later… this is the sort of place that makes San Francisco great!

I walked in this store. And thought… hipster paradise. I am not a hipster(or so we all claim!). But this store goes beyond that… its full of little odd artifacts, interesting jewerly, and just all things of a strange nature. But then, I found old photos and I was sold! I am a huge collecter of them, and have had a collection since I was 7 or 8. I found just completely gorgeous snapshots of times gone bye. Anyways, I also found a really cool coin that had«Heads I Win», «Tales you lose on it»…mixed in with souvenir coins, Chucky Cheese coins, etc. It is an interesting store. And the woman who is the manager(?), is completely LOVELY. I left with a smile, on a beautiful day and felt a zen peacefulness.

What can I say? I’m an American. I don’t just want to see things. I want to manhandle them, break off pieces, and take them home with me. Thank G for shopkeepers like the Accident & Artifact folk, who understand these urges and accommodate. I’d spent a chunk of the previous day at the deYoung Museum, and had begun waxing sentimental about LA’s Museum of Jurassic Technology, thinking vaguely about visiting Paxton Gate for a fix, when this lovely shop crossed my path. Happening upon Accident & Artifact felt like revealing the first clue to a secret treasure hunt. Sheer curiosity pulled me inside the door and kept me there for way longer than you’d expect. What you’ll find inside this small space are meticulously-curated curiosities and consignments, selected local artists’ work, and just general items of interest, for those who are interested in, y’know, the seeing, manhandling and taking home of things.

Having been a shop owner for many years picking up one of a kind treasures and knowing what it takes to find the good stuff…, Martin Holden has the eye for things divinely handled, assembled, and found. Like seed pods next to rusty typewriters next to tiny old clamps on chains as art jewlery. His worn rubbish acutely delights… you won’t be sorry to have entered them thar doors… for sure. now if he would just get a voice mail…:)

The most curious curiosity shop in town. Spend 30 minutes and try to find the parameters. Sort of a Mick Jagger ‘Welcome To My Mind’ experience. Art without artist, medium or gallery. Oh, and there’s the stuff, also.
