Since it’s been awhile now, wish to update and up my review to five stars. Although he’s a professional musician and performer with a busy schedule, this hasn’t detracted from his quality teaching.

Alan is tremendous and a walking encyclopedia of all things music from Elvis to Johnny Cash to Beatles to reggae and back. He is a teacher for all ages. I’ve seen him play Yiddish/​klezmer tunes with grandparents and cool stones riffs with kids. No matter he makes it fun, has lots of patience and you will find yourself making a friend in Alan. If you have the opportunity to learn from him. Two words: DO IT! You will not eegret your time with Alan. Happy strumming.

Alan is low-​key, patient, optimistic and passionate about what he does. He’s been teaching my 12-​year-​old daughter for a month and we all love him. He’d be even better with teens and adults.
