I visited Aline’s shop for the first time about four years ago when she first opened it, then forgot about it and didn’t come back until last year. The second I walked in, Aline remembered me. «Hello Lindsay!» she said, «I’m happy to see you again!» I was shocked. On my second visit, I ended up staying in the store for an hour as Aline pulled different clothes off the shelf for me to try. This isn’t like normal stores where you grab what you want and try it on alone in the dressing room. Here, it’s best to sit back and let Aline do the shopping for you. She has a talent for finding the pieces that will look best on you. Then, instead of taking it home, Aline takes your measurements, you discuss colors and fabrics and details you want to change from the sample, and pick up your piece when it’s done a month or so later. I ended up getting three one-of-a-kind dresses that fit me perfectly, that I’ll wear forever, and that people compliment me on every time I wear them. They weren’t cheap, but they were completely worth it. And the best part about it is that Aline has become my style consultant/muse. Before Aline, my relationship to clothes felt like a consumerist one. I’d buy clothes, get excited, eventually get sick of them, and discard them. With Aline, my relationship is clothes is more artistic and human, the way we work together to create something unique and special that I’ll wear – and feel great in – forever.

Aline’s closet is a beautiful and quaint boutique where one can find the one and only perfect cardigan among other stylish and unique apparel and jewelry. For tailored pieces, an appointment can be made with Aline herself. You’ll love her radiant smile, her French mannerism and her hospitality.

I love everything about Aline’s closet! From Aline herself who brings a hybrid of African and European culture to her store, but the line of clothes and accessories she creates from scratch are creative and awesome. I haven’t purchased anything yet but I am looking forward to bringing my wife to the store so she can pick out what she wants from there. We need more boutique stores like this in SF! It makes you love SF even more!

Popping into Aline’s really is like popping into a fun and stylish friend’s closet. For more than two years this little gem has welcomed Lower Haight/Duboce neighbors with well-edited garb and accessories – it’s easy to go nuts, but unlike a friends closet, the goodies aren’t free. But you can keep them for as long as you want guilt-free, which is a much better deal IMO. I come for the candles but if you’re hunting for a gift or that special touch on your favorite outfit, stop in.

Do not shop here. I was absolutely taken advantage of by Aline’s Closet. The store represents itself as a boutique, selling«one of a kind» and vintage items. In actuality, they mark up and resell mass produced department store goods. When I confronted the proprietor about my issue, I was treated rudely and was refused a refund. Given the choice of legitimate boutiques and charming stores in the Lower Haight, steer clear of Aline’s.

I love aline’s closet! Where else do you get to buy gorgeous, unique jewelry from an adorable french lady? I love all of the jewelry I’ve bought here. I love the adorable bags that the adorable French lady puts the jewelry in when you buy something, and I love the adorable french lady that give me encouraging sewing advice.

It is a breath of fresh air to finally have a great little store on this corner. Everything is handmade tastefully and they are one of a kind pieces. Aline also has the best jewelries! The décor of the store is very cute and unique. Aline, the owner, is very friendly and welcoming! It’s so easy to forget the time and chat with her. It’s definitely hard to resist this little charming store!

Aline’s Closet is a total gem! After a very rainy and dreary couple of days, it was time for a nice walk in the good weather. After walking through Duboce Park, I took a couple of random turns and as I was crossing the street, I stumbled upon Aline’s Closet. Maybe it was because of the absolutely adorable storefront with… a dollhouse on the sign? Maybe it was the splash of colors and prints in the window? Whatever it was, I stepped inside and I was absolutely enamored with the one-of-a-kind pieces and its whimsical flair. I ended up leaving the store with something :) Aline and Jen are absolute darlings, it’s always fantastic to meet the people that design what you wear. They’re extremely talented and friendly! So give yourself a treat and visit this sweet little shop.

Aline’s Closet is a my FAVORITE little shop that really adds to the neighborhood! I really love the jewelry design… it’s really hard to choose from my favorite pieces. It’s so rad that a lot of the clothing and the jewelry are made from old pieces and given new twists!@@
