What can I say? OMG, what a little gem!
I live in the neighborhood (Sunset) & I’ve heard about the store (how good it is) many times… Always drive/​walk by and have never walked inside (always rushing somewhere)… But today, I was waiting for a friend to arrive & I had just 15 min to check out the place. And what a surprise… I found a neighborhood gem!
So, they have a lot of stuff-​clothes, shoes, jewelry & accessories … I realized I need more time to explore & have to come back! Anyway, I still managed to find very beautiful & unusual, but unexpectedly affordable cuff bracelet that I had to have & this little thing made me happy :)
I’m def coming back soon to discover more treasures.

This is a great store with excellent customer service!
I am very impressed by the staff at this location. Angela, the manager, is extremely professional and runs a very well oiled machine. You can tell she provides strong leadership because her staff works as a team – assisting each other without hesitation and working together as a cohesive unit.
I purchased a dress at the store and when I returned to LA the same day, I realized I had the wrong size. The problem was: I intended to wear the dress to a wedding 7 days later. I called Ambiance and Anna answered. She remembered me from the day before and was able to negotiate a solution to my problem. Long story short, I was able to get the correct size, return the ill-​fitting dress, and obtain a discount without much stress at all.
This store is on point with their styles and, most importantly, customer service.

LOVE this store. Definitely drop some money in there every other month Kim, Julie, and Starla are my favorites. Amazing customer service and always honest about look and fit. Call ahead and they will pull items for you and have them waiting. So happy this store is in my neighborhood!

At first when shopping here I felt really out of place because I’m really not that fashionable. But after shopping here several times with my sisters it’s become clear that it is a great place to learn more about fashion and enjoy shopping. The staff is very friendly. I love trips to Ambiance.

This is one of my favorite stores. I came here to find a pair of sandals that were not too trendy, not super high heeled and good quality. I found the perfect ones! I also got a great blouse and jacket. I am not sure what other people have experienced with the sales staff, but I found them to be very helpful. I am larger sized and have feel very looked down upon at other stores. But this experience was great. They found items they thought would look good on me and made great suggestions.

Well this is a very strange experience for me. Most of the time when I walk into Ambiance, I would get ignored, eye rolls or just stared at.
I walked in with my friend after dinner looking for dress ideas for a wedding she is going to. I was getting used to the idea of being ignored because we were just looking. We were looking at dresses and chatting when a sales associate jumped in and asked us questions about what kind of dress were we looking for? I was so shocked. What!!! Someone is talking to me in the shop. Wow, this is awesome. It wasn’t until we got to the fitting room. My friend wanted MY opinion and the sales lady was standing outside her room the whole time. I mean if she took a side step she would been in the room with my friend. Why was she standing outside the room the whole time? We were the only ones in the fitting rooms. The sales lady suggested dresses and brought them to my friend’s fitting room. My friend felt overwhelmed and we left the shop without buying anything.
Ambiance, you guys went from 0mph customer service to 150 mph and that’s just too much to take.

Super cute boutique! Tons of great stuff and friendly staff. Nicole was very nice, helping me by finding me some great dresses based on what I shared I liked. She wasn’t too in-​my-​face and I didn’t feel like I was being pressured to buy.

I love this Ambiance store in SF. Went for a walk and went in the store to browse. The associates are really nice and friendly but not salesy which I like. The shoe section is so cute! They have a really eclectic selection of shoes. I landed up purchasing a black pair of wedges by CL Laundry for a great price. They are perfect for work and comfortable. I also purchased an adorable yellow blouse that I can dress up or down. I’m glad I didn’t have that much time to shop, I would’ve spent even more. ;) I love how the shop really has a variety of items and prices.

I am giving 5 stars to the employees! They are helpful and friendly!
I bought few dresses from this location and I stroll this store often as I work nearby and it’s on my way home. The more I come here and the more I browse around I found that Ambiance is nothing like expensive store sells cheap clothes made in China, Philippine and other country. Some of the clothes are really over priced. For the shoes collections they have fair prices but the clothes? I feel the materials and the sizing are a bit off too, cheap material blouse for $ 55??? Cheap dresses for $ 75 and above??! Come on! The jewelry are nothing special either just over priced!
Hand bags are over priced and for $ 100 unlabeled handbag I could get 1 Longchamp at Nordstrom!
Unless someone buying me gift certificate I will not come back and shop here anymore.

Ambiance is such a cute shop. They have something for pretty much every style. That being said, it might take a while to find what you want here because there is a ton of merchandise in a smallish shop. Expect to be there at least 45 min of you are shopping for something specific.
Ambiance is my go-​to place for sweaters. They have a really good selection of moderately priced sweaters. A lot of them are machine washable too, which is a bonus for those of us who have toddlers wiping their hands and faces all over our clothes.
I have also bought quite a few attractive and reasonably priced dresses and shoes there.
They also have a great selection of semi-​formal dresses. These are usually a bit more pricey but worth the extra money is you are looking for something for a party or special occasion. The sales people there are REALLY good at helping to pick out dresses. They week find out all about your occasion and your preferences and sirens the time to help find what you really want.
Overall a good store with a wonderful variety of clothes and accessories, but not a lot of space to shop in.

I love this store because it has reasonably priced clothing but also some name brand items. I’ve always been able to find cute clothes for going out in sf and even some work appropriate attire. It’s also my go to store for birthday gifts. The staff is friendly and helpful. They have a good assortment of jewelry, shoes, scarves and bags too.
One star off because ambiance is quite crowded and unorganized, but it’s expected of boutiques in sf. The store itself is small, and they’ve packed as much clothes as physically possible. At least there’s a lot of variety, but it can be somewhat of a headache looking through everything.

Cute clothes. Maybe geared toward a slightly older, but still extremely hip, crowd (older meaning 30s as opposed to 20s). A bit overpriced. Nice staff. The space in there is super cramped.

Not sure about the 3 star review average here, but I love this place. The women working here are great. I have always received top notch service. On multiple occasions I have come in with some very specific needs (interview clothes, wedding attire, etc) and they always deliver. I really appreciate the personal shopping service they have. They know the store inside and out and are always able to recommend items that I wouldn’t have considered trying on, but end up loving. They have merchandise at various price points and never try to upsell you on the most expensive item. At times they have recommended sale merchandise to me because it fitted my needs most. This is one of my favorite stores in the inner sunset and I hope they are here to stay :) I only wish they were open a bit later to allow for after work hours shopping.

Came in here on Saturday afternoon to find some new jeans. I was looking for something pretty specific, and they had a lot of options to choose from. The woman helping me in the fitting room was basically a saint, considering I took up a room for easily 45 min. on a busy day and needed several size exchanges (I’m bigger than I thought… oops). A million stars to her for being so patient with me! The pair she recommended ending up being the pair I took home, and I love them! Pricey, sure, but totally on par with what designer jeans cost at a department store, and I got to support a local business.
My only complaints would that it’s definitely cramped in there (although there’s not much they can do about that without diminishing their selection) and that some of the dress lines seem marked up a bit high (I used to be a retail buyer, so I’m pretty familiar with wholesale prices on lots of their brands), but I get that that’s sort of the name of the game when it comes to surviving as a small business. Definitely glad to have this place in the neighborhood!

Lots of style of clothing. N shoes. Pricy if not on sale!!! N yes finally I fit those clothes nicely !!!

I hate writing bad reviews. I especially hate writing bad reviews for small businesses.
Strolled in here on a Monday, late afternoon. I figured this would be a good time since most people are just leaving work now, and the store would not be as busy, making it easier to browse around.
Downhill experience from here on out…
–NO ONE greeted when I walked in. Two employees were in the front as well and definitely was not helping another customer.
–This specific store is extremely crammed. I’m not sure about the other Ambiance locations, but it is super difficult to browse through the items when they are extremely packed on one rack. I’m at a boutique store, not a department store…
–No one asked if I needed anything, or asked for any extra assistance. I had to ask one of the girls for a specific size on one of the items and her attitude was just down right awful (pretty sure she was the manager as well… get off your high horse lady)
–The only person who did help was the fitting room employee. The one star goes to her…
–The bad: Do not judge me from what I am wearing. I noticed a couple of the employees were staring at me as If I just woke up or never took a shower and whispered to one another. Its a Monday. Its my day off. My hair is wrapped in a messy bun and I’m wearing my casual clothes. I have every right to look like a bum. Sorry I’m not all posh and squeaky clean like you. If retail employees received tips, this is the part where you would get $ 0 from me.
Ambiance really does have great/​cute items. But their customer service needs a huge adjustment. I get it stuck up employees, your all busy putting clothes away, but it doesn’t hurt to smile or say hello to customers who’s supporting your job.
I love supporting small businesses, but unfortunately Ambiance is a no go for me, I’ll stick to Therapy instead…

Ambiance is a welcome addition to the neighborhood. Their clothes are inexpensive and fun, and the staff is REALLY helpful… whether you’re agonizing over a $ 20 purchase or a $ 100 one, they will patiently guide you along. Pretty refreshing in these days of retail hell.
Since they carry shoes, belts, hats and other accessories, they’re really the only one stop shop for miles around.

I just wanted to say, much thanks to the wonderful girls at Ambiance, who helped assist me with trying on a bunch of dresses and shirts in the store, for several hours today!
I had usually gone to the Noe Valley location but decided to check out the one on Irving. I’m so happy I did, because they have a wide selection of clothing, accessories and shoes. I tried on so many nice things today, unfortunately, due to my budget decided to get what would be most practical. I’m real glad the girls picked up on my style and even offered me new looks to try. Their great with helping you accessorize an outfit or simply put one together.
I ended up walking away with a real cute peach heart print tunic (as seen on Modcloth but keeps going out of stock) and a really stylish and comfortable pair of nude t-​straps by Chelsea Crew. Overall, I love that they have a price point for pretty much any budget and there’s always something for everyone here!
Thanks again for the wonderful experience and I’ll definitely be back again once I’ve replenished my funds!
