Ari Law is a top-​notch firm that I highly recommend.
I have been an executive at a large corporation as well as a small business owner and I have never had such an incredible experience with attorney’s like I did with Ari Law. In particular, I worked very closely with Craig Ramsdell who’s personality and professionalism made my life that much easier in a stressful time.
Craig was patient with me and took the proper time to explain issues and concepts I needed to further educate myself with. Additionally, he worked with me to strategize best approach and leveraged his in-​depth experience to outline several options on handling my situation. He was always 100% available and, in the limited times he was not able to jump on a call, he always got back to me immediately.
Overall, Craig and Ari Law felt more like a business partner than an attorney for hire. This is a team that fights for you… with sincerity and passion.
When you are a small business/​startup owner your business is oftentimes your entire life. At the very least, it is extraordinarily important to the well-​being of yourself, your family, and the employees that you have a deep responsibility to care for.
You have a very special obligation to your business, and your loyalty to it and your willingness to pour your everything into defending it really can’t be matched by anyone else… including your employees, spouse, or even your investors.
Except that Ali Aelaei, and each of his associates, have an astonishing ability to personify an equally committed ⁵⁰⁄₅₀ business partner, that is just as committed to your business and team as you are. Or at least working with Ali’s team and watching them work feels this way, and I have to say that it is a remarkable experience. Watching them in action is a little mind-​bending… NO ONE cares about your business as much as you do, and yet there they are each day, totally committed to giving everything they can to being there for you.
Beyond their exception skill, this dedication and passion is what stands out to me from working with Ari Law.
Our story, in incredibly brevity:
We had a pair of very high net worth crooks attempt to seize majority equity control of our business through a contract we’d entered into that had a clear, and unfortunate, mutual mistake which their unscrupulous attorney had deceptively snuck past us. Well done by them. These people had zero ethics or conscious, and they had all the resources in the world to attack our technology startup. Their attorney’s message was consistent and clear «give in to our demands or we’ll prevent you from raising funds, we’ll get your assets, or we’ll bankrupt your business.» The only way we could have avoided litigation would have been to give them approximately 75% equity control of our business. Thus, we had to go through with litigation as they pressed on to extort us.
Working with Ari Law:
We only hired Ari Law Group after about a year of litigation, and our first attorney of record left them a total mess to clean up. Long story short, within six months everything was settled. We went from initially offering $ 450K cash in our first settlement offer to prevent the litigation, to them pushing for nearly $ 700K in cash, to paying them out just $ 75K. Not only did they not get the 75% of our equity they’d originally schemed, but they ended up with zero equity as we were able to take back the 10% they’d already initially owned. If I didn’t have obligations to so many team members and investors (and therefore an extremely pressing need to have a firm resolution and not let it go another 1 – 2 years), we could have let Ali continue to work for a few more months and I doubt we’d have paid a nickel.
Additional notes:
The Ari Law team isn’t very large, but it doesn’t need to be. They are all brilliant and they perfectly compliment each other. Deliverables are exceptional. They write incredibly well, and they do an amazing job of synthesizing the massive data dump of interviews and discovery materials into concise, well reasoned legal arguments for the courts.
They navigate through the endless b.s. that opposing counsels will throw at you to evade discovery, burden you with motions, respond to fictitious allegations or attempts to factually confuse the court, etc. They are exceedingly professional, but they don’t put up with absurdity from opposing counsel, which we saw plenty of. Basically, whatever your adversaries throw at you… Ari Law can handle take care of it.

ARI Law is a professional law firm in every single meaning of the word.
I am writing this review not as a client, but rather as a fellow attorney who has the privilege of working together side by side with ARI Law to represent one of our clients.
As solo patent attorney, I have limited experience in dealing with complex litigation issues that arise in the course of business. I learned almost everything I need to know about litigation from working with the ARI law team in the last six months or so. The ARI team was very kind and patient in showing me the ropes so I can be a productive member of the litigation team.
Ali and Craig went into the case with guns blazing, and they were committed to the work while keeping the costs manageable. In the few months working with them, we became a solid legal team and did whatever it took to successfully represent our side. Late night e-​mails, early morning meetings, weekend data crunching; these guys do not sleep until the job is properly done. What started as a very messy legal situation for our clients ended as a good settlement for all the parties involved, and it would not have been possible without ARI law’s involvement in the matter.
As one professional to another, hats off to the ARI law team. I would refer them to my other clients in a heartbeat, and would love to work with them again on future cases.

Ali Aalaei of ARI Law has the intenstinal fortitude gut and intelligence to win in almost any situation. From the moment I contacted him regarding my case I knew I was in good hands. I would highly recommend as one of the best lawyers in San Francisco.

I called in and had a conversation with Ari. It seemed like something he could do but when he asked for a $ 2,500 retainer I said that I would not be willing to pay that much for such a small case (initial cost anywhere between $ 300 and $ 600). He said that he would be ok with no retainer then.
He asked me to send him my material via email and that he would reply with an engagement letter.
I didn’t hear back from him for 2 days and then called in again. He apologized for the delay and how he was going to contact me later that day anyways. But all of the sudden he did want to have a $ 2,000 retainer after all, even though the initial step would only be 1 letter and it would take several additional weeks to take the next step.

I called Ari law looking for help in a contract dispute case. I got to talk to Ali who agreed to handle my case. I was floored by how responsible, smart and friendly he was. He listened to me carefully. He got back to me shortly after with his analysis of what my options were and asked me how I wanted to proceed. It was the most personal, no non-​sense, smart conversation i have every had with a business lawyer and i have been in business for over 30 years. I really felt like i was talking to a caring family member who ONLY cared about how things would turn out for me. I loved teh competence and the culture of this firm. These guys are something special.

A family member had a situation with their small business where they needed someone to represent them. Apparently there are lawyers who troll small business owners and extort them for money because they don’t have a wheelchair ramp.
I called around and many of the attorneys had ridiculous fees and some even tried to get me to sign an agreement before they would even offer me any useful information.
Ali and Bo at ARI Law were different. They gave me an honest representation of our chances and potential scenarios, and did everything they could to keep us under budget and to win a favorable settlement. Highly recommend!

My company and I had been helped by one of the attorneys in Ari Law. I needed some help in drafting and reviewing documents, and had some legal questions that I needed answers for. Ahaha, who doesn’t like lawyer jokes? I know I do. But when it comes real law stuff, it’s all serious business. I’ve known one of the attorneys at Ari Law for years. They are sincere, hard-​working, brilliant, and tough. I appreciate their quick responses to my inquiries in business law and know they’re always there to help. I believe they also specialize in IP law. And unlike the situation in the joke above, their consultation is free. Yay!
