What an awesome art supply.
Really homey environment. Service was outstanding. I bought an easel for my girlfriend along with a few painting accessories. Very knowledgable people with lots of suggestions. They also have a large selection of childrens toys. Bottom line:
This is one cute extensive art supply. Highly recommend it rather than a large chain.

I was walking down to grab something to eat when I stumbled upon this little store. It wasn’t so little when I entered. It had many art supplies and even though I’m not an artist, I enjoy sketching things on my sketchbook since it’s a hobby I do when I’m feeling down or such. I roamed around the store to just look at the place and there were more things to buy than art supplies.
I got a card and a sock monkey here to send to some people and what I like about this place is that it’s convenient and not far from where I live. It’s a fun store for all ages!

This place is a dream come true for the young at art (and teachers). I needed some clay for stop-​motion videos that my students were about to do, and they had just about everything I needed: reasonably priced clay, tools, and wire.
This is going to be my regular stop for anything I can’t find in my own basement.

I love the owner too. She is always helpful and can point me in the direction of the supplies I’m looking for. I don’t mind paying a bit more because it’s close to home and they actually help me when I walk through the door.
I’m sure there are larger art stores that you can frequent, but go in and give the service a try.
I’m still loving my easel and acrylics!

I love the owner — and while not cheap they have all the supplies I would ever need. Supporting a local business was never easier.

Thank god there’s an art supply store in the neighborhood. She’s got a lot of stuff packed into a small space. Nice selection on small drawing journals. And, if you want to talk art or philosophy, this is the place to go.

I was running around trying to find something nice for my mother when I saw the sign for this place. It says «for artists of all ages», suddenly I started thinking about my Niece and Nephew again. They are the only children in the family so I’m sure my mom wouldn’t mind being bumped twice within an hour.
This is a crowded yet tidy little shop jam packed with art supplies. The owners exuberance was at first a little jarring and then endearing. While she was wrapping the Art supplies I bought or the kids I briefly considered buying my mom a boxed painting course.

This place always has what I need for my little crafty creations. It is flax, but in a tiny little nook.

What caught my eye and lured me in: multiple large «50% OFF» signs
What drew me past the front door: Beautiful art sculptures alongside beautiful stone necklaces and earrings
What made the sale: Ceramic and hand painted colorful cabinet knobs — the unique knobs that I’ve been looking for to re-​knob all my kitchen cabinets. At $ 3.95 (remember, 50% off?) each they are not only a steal, they are something to tell EVERYONE!!!
My kitchen is now complete, yet unique looking and beautiful.

This place is absofuckinglutely amazing!!! Parking can be a bitch in Noe Valley, but what else is new in SF? Deal with it. The staff at this cozy little art store are incredibly warm, helpful, and tell all their customers to «honor themselves» with new art supplies. I dig it.
I‘m rather bummed that their 40% sale on canvases is over, but the wide selection of water soluble oil paints and canvas sizes will continue to draw me back to honor myself with more art stuff.
They also have a rewards system where they tally up all your dollars spent into points that you can redeem as different percentages of marked off-​ness on regularly priced merch.
Bottom line: I LOVE this place!

Especially friendly is an understatement. Everything the owner said to us was followed by maniacal laughter. It was pretty funny. It’s a cozy little shop that we almost walked right past. I didn’t buy a GINORMOUS canvas though. I actually bought a mini canvas– real mini. I mean very small. Very very small. 1.5 in. X 1.5 in. small. I also bought the mini easel to go along with it. No mini brushes though. Any brush small enough to paint on that canvas would have to be the size of a,… a… uh… rosemary leaf. (is that a good visual? I don’t know)
As I was walking down the street with my sister we saw a custom framing store. I know you’re laughing already but I’ll say it anyway. I thought it would be funny to go in there and and ask for a real small frame. Really, really small.

Its a good art supply store & its pretty wonderful to get a GINORMOUS canvas [40×60] & only have to walk it two blocks to get home. No need for a car or anything.
They have a good stock of general paint supplies. I’m not much of an artist, but for the simple things I was looking for to make a collage/​painting for the kitchen with my husband [mod podge, gorilla glue, etc] they had it. It also helps that its on sale at the time [20%off for back to school goodness] & the canvas was on sale 40% off too.
I made out like a bandit!

Utopia would have an art shop in every neighborhood, supplying the creativity of a visually literate community educated by a balanced, well-​funded public education. This shop is very well stocked given its small size, with a nice selection of high quality materials.
X-​tra star for being in the neighborhood. I’ll gladly go here for supplies for which a bulk discount does not apply.
Utopia art stores would also stock a generous supply of #11 X-​Acto blades. If your art store stocks only one thing in addition to pencil and paper, it’s #11 X-​Acto blades. These are indispensible to the artist/​craftsperson.
Please get on it. I have a LOT of illustration board to cut.

Sale sale sale…20% off everything and even more, 40% for stretched canvases at least until early Sept. The woman who works here is über friendly, but a lil eccentric. Small, but better supplied or at least as well supplied as any art store I’ve been to in the city. Prices seem average.

The owner is super friendly and this place has a certain charm to it. Its like when you’re a little kid and everything is new and colorful and fun. or something like that. Anyway I bought I pen and she said if it was the wrong I could exchange it. That’s pretty nice.

I to have admit that the pricing is not worth the five stars but it’s friendly service, certainly, is. They may not carry as much as the larger art stores in the city (i.e., Blick and Pearl) but they care about their customers. There isn’t some too-​cool-​for-​school art junkie sitting behind the counter talking about some indie rock band they saw the other night that was awesome but is, in reality, really shite. I digress.
In any case, the knowledgeable and kind staff really make ArtSake a sweet place to visit while you’re strolling through the heart of Noe Valley. They actually care about what you are purchasing and how you will use it because, well, they don’t want you to waste your money on just anything. If you are going to create fine art, you have know what you’re getting into.
Then again, if you’re truly a fine artist, you can take a crayon and make something, anything into a Baroque or Rococo masterpiece. However, if you don’t want to struggle and you want the traditional tools, stop by this fine establishment!

A hidden secret. I went here tonight with my sister and it was freakin awesome. I didn’t really know much about this place until we stumbled upon it. This place has everything you could possible need for your creative needs. Canvases, paints, brushes galore! OMG! I will definitely come back – I will go wild buying wonderful art supplies… The staff is especially friendly.

An Art supply store in Noe Valley! The people that own Just for Fun across the street opened this up a few years ago. They offer a bunch of classes, so stop in and get a schedule from them and meet some new people.
