I’ve only shopped here a handful of times because I am just a lowly bargain shopping engineer, not a studio or venue owner, but I have to say the customer service is excellent. This guy is definitely not an upseller. He will help you find exactly what you need, even if it’s cheaper than what you thought you would need.
It’s not a bargain mega-​store like Guitar Center, but the staff is much more knowledgeable, and they definitely have more options for pro audio than any other store around, especially since Leo’s in the East Bay went out of business.

I’m a professional audio engineer and studio owner. I’ve been patronizing Audio Images since 1995. Ron has always been very helpful, knowledgeable, honest and trustworthy. It means a lot to me to know that nobody’s going to try to sell me something I don’t need, or gouge me on the price. STUPIDLY OVERPRICED. Do not go here unless you’re in a bind. I will never go back. You wonder how they stay open when you walk in there and see the half-​finished, half empty place and then they ring you up. I commented on the shocking price of a couple cables and the guy said «That’s what this stuff costs now days.» I would have paid literally a third the price from my rep at Guitar Center.

I haven’t been in a few years since my studio was stocked-​up and I stopped needing much beyond the occasional replacement cable or software upgrade, but Ron supplied a friend of mine and I with tons of gear for our respective studios (and a couple companies I’ve worked for have in the past bought multimedia gear from him as well).
Ron is extremely knowledgeable, and always willing to help out customers. Their prices aren’t as cheap as you’ll find at some online superstores, but the little extra you may pay is worth it for the personalized service.
Also, if you don’t see something in the shop, ask. There’s a good chance they can order it and get it to you pretty quickly.
The only downside to the place is that sometimes the shop is a bit disorganized. If you go, it’s worth your while to become a regular, as then Ron will get to know you and your studio and be even more able to help you figure out what gear has the best price-​performance ratio for your particular needs.

I spoke to someone about Mbox 2 for about five minutes and came away very impressed. He was very professional and helpful.
