The crêpe, get it. This is as good as they get! Some of the strongest vegetarian appetizers, not a huge selection of vegetarian mains. Not great for a gluten free diet.

Do not take your children here! we walk in at 5pm on a sunday. it is empty, not one single person inside. we ask for a table for 3. Me, my husband and my 2 year old daughter(who is in my arms and silent.) we ask to sit at one table in the corner. woman responds, no that is too big for 3 people. i have a table for you in the back. we ask for a smaller 2 person table up front that we can add a high chair to(plenty of room for another chair). she says no. I ask what the problem is, stating that the restaurant is literally empty and i don’t understand why we can’t have a choice of seats, and ask where she wants us to sit. She says the back as «we might get busy later and the child could be noisy.» after a few choice words of how absurd she is I walk to the back where a managerial looking older gentleman is, along with a waitress and someone else lying horizontal(literally) on the long booth bench, and let them know that it is not only offensive, but it is stupid business. each of them stood there completely dumbfounded and had nothing to say, not a word. how on earth does this place survive without a shred of capability of speaking to a customer and dealing w/a conflict that should’ve easily been resolved??? not that it should even matter but we eat out all the time, our daughter is very well behaved, was literally silent through this entire episode and if on chance she becomes antsy or loud, that is our queue to take her outside and deal as normal adults would. It is completely absurd that this restaurant is so ridiculous toward a child and so rude to customers. and stupid, considering not a single soul was in the restaurant they clearly aren’t concerned with making any money. there are plenty of restaurants in this city to take our business to. we will not be back.

Excellent food but alas they are closed for lunch ALL the time now. Very annoying that they do not change this information. We drove there specially, parked and found them closed – after we had checked their hours online.

Some of the best vietnamese food you can get in SF. I’ve been coming here for years and it’s never been a disappointment. Try the Phở Ga(chicken phở) and the Tom Rang Muoi(flash fried shrimp).

One of the best authentic Vietnamese restaurants in the city. Again last night with a party of 8, we shared delicious dish after dish. The staff is always helpful and accommodating. A real jewel on Polk st!

It was alright Vietnamese food nothing like my mom’s but good. Ca Kho had way too many bones and was super oily. Sampler platter with Goi Cuon, Cha Gio, and Banh Cuon was standard run of the mill. Phở broth was weak and barely got any meat. Maybe I’m just spoiled by my mom’s restaurant in Virginia and frequently have been to Orange County and Vietnam. I’m sure it’s considered great for the general population though.

So my BF has been talking about taking me here for dinner ever since we started dating. It finally happened last weekend! He did mention that parking is tough so he had his friend(Über driver) drove us. We got there about 6pm on a Friday. A few people are eating — not so busy yet. He knew the lady who owns it(I believe«HA» was her name) so he said hi at the bar. She remembered him! She was a really nice lady. My bf decided that he will order the dishes by himself so I was like — OK. make sure they’re really good. He goes, ‘trust me on this’. We started with the Vietnamese Pancakes — I am not usually a fan(I usually go with spring rolls or egg rolls to start with) but these ones are flaky and tasty. For entrees: we had the Steak(BF ate it all since it was cooked Medium — i do my steak Medium Well), Garlic Noodles — so delicious and garlicky(just enough garlic — not too salty) and Crispy Chicken — this one was my FAVE. The BOMB.COM. The sauce was too good to be eaten on its own. The chicken was breaded and crispy even with the sauce. Unbelievably good. We ended our dinner with the flan as our dessert. I was going for the fried banana but the BF opted this one for a change. It was on the sweet side for me but heck, we ate the whole plate too! The place got busier as it got closer to dinner time. Over-all, the staff, the food and the ambiance is great! The prices of dishes are reasonable.($ 12 and above) Where else in the city would get a chicken entrée for $ 12 that is rated 5 stars?

Best Vietnamese restaurant for sure! I work around this area and found this treasure. Their food is flavored and really delicious. I wish they open at 11am(: The lady waitress is good and fast at serving food. she cares for her customer a lot.

Ordered take out that was over $ 70 and waited for more than an hour so I called the restaurant to see what was going on. The person who picked up lied and said they never received the order and to call EAT24. I tried calling back several times just to get a busy dial tone — pretty sure they left the phone off the hook on purpose so I couldn’t get through. Finally got a call back from EAT24 where they told me that the order went through and was all prepared but they just didn’t want to deliver it! Such bullshit.

The food here is done just right. If you’re looking for good Vietnamese in a nice atmosphere this is the right place. The vegetarian spring rolls are great. We ordered the garlic noodles, basa fish clay pot, and crispy chicken. I highly recommend the basa fish as well as the crispy chicken. The noodles were good but what I’ve noticed is that most Vietnamese places that serve garlic noodles serve the noodles pretty soft which I’m not crazy about. As far as flavor they were very garlicky and good. We would definitely come back here.

Hands down the best Vietnamese restaurant around town! The interior is on the fancier side, not like those late night phở spots after a night of debauchery. As a starter I high recommend the imperial rolls. Of course, I went with the chicken phở. It was perfection, very fresh! I didn’t even taste much msg. The wait was not long at all either, or we might have just gotten lucky that night. This is a repeat spot for me!

Tonight I ordered(prepared entirely gluten free) (1) Banh Xeo — a savory pan fried crêpe. I’ve grown up eating these so it was a no brainer for a starter! Super yummy. (2) Cai Xanh Xao — broccoli with chicken, the garlic-i-ness was so on point! (3) Bo Cari Thai — spicy beef curry was the highlight of the entire meal: Basil, bamboo, tofu, peppers, string beans… everything you can possibly want in a sizzling pot! (4) Flourless chocolate cupcake with vanilla gelato — ok… You cannot opt out of this, please just trust me and save room for dessert when you try this restaurant. My mouth is watering just reliving the memory of eating this cake. For having so many gluten free options, this place is awesome! :)

Coming to this restaurant is just by accident, but I was really surprised how amazing they are. Love the fish and steak they served, kind of like the taste in the childhood in China, fish cooked by mum. Also environment is also nice, highly recommend for couples.

Very tasty dishes! Had Cha Ca La Vong for the first time since being in Hanoi, and it did not disappoint. The cucumber prawn salad was also a nice refreshing start to the meal. Friendly and attentive staff, will definitely be back!

Started off with the summer rolls, imperial rolls and papaya salad. All super delicious, although the salad wasn’t spicy as the name suggests. Then we ordered the sautéed shrimp, fried tofu with vegetables and cha ca. I really enjoyed the cha ca here. However, it might be an acquired taste. The tofu and shrimp dishes were also good. I think I could have found something better on the menu though. Ended the meal with fried bananas and ice cream. I didn’t care for the bananas but I could use more ice cream! Lol Lemonade could use more sugar. That’s what makes it so good at other viet restaurants! Hahah The restaurant is nice & cozy and able to provide pretty good service– definitely better than what I’m used to from Vietnamese restaurants.

It was damp and cold and we all wanted some warm comfort food. Phở it is! Place was near empty, but we were there a bit early for dinner. I think we beat the rush however, because by the time we finished, the place was pretty crowded. Service was good, the staff was attentive and kept our water glasses full. We had the sampler of appetizers that consisted of spring rolls, egg rolls and banh cuon. They only give you one banh cuon, but it was pretty good. I’d order a giant plate of banh cuon as a meal if I could. Phở was ok. Nothing to write home about, but its not disgusting, just middle of the road. The broth was clean, but it also meant it was a little lacking in flavor, so throw in the sauces and lime to fix that. Large bowl was more like a medium(at least compared to the bowls used in TX), but its ok, I get it, Cali is trying to conserve water and such… Overall, not too shabby.

I have to say that the place is very simple and doesn’t look as s cool place but. They have some amazing food! This is my second time and I’ve had now the Vietnamese dumplings(AMAZING) and had a beef soup! Both were simply delicious and the portions are big enough to share. Also positive: they serve food much later than other places in the neighborhood so if you had no food and searching for something good at a very reasonable price, this should be your choice!

Again one of those places i wanted to try. Came here for lunch with the brother. When we came in, this place was almost empty, only couple other customers… we came in at the time when it was getting close to closing time for the lunch time before dinner hours. There was only one waitress waiting in the front who deal with the customers during the lunch hours and she was all in the back when we walked in Give us the lunch menu when got to the table. Has lesser selection for lunch. We wanted the ca kho(caramelized fish) but wasnt on the menu. It was until we ask the worker if they have it which they actually do… so then she gave us a different menu which has more option of food to choose from(probably it could for dinner). When looking at their menu, it has a variety of vietnamese authentic food to pick other than Phở. Most of their food are comfort food that i eat at home so its not the usual food you see from most vietnamese restaurant Things i ordered: Ca kho(caramalize fish): it was good and very flavorful but its very saucy that its better to eat with rice. You can eat the sauce and rice itself too. When the waitress first brought this dish to my table, my brother and i thought it look kind of burnt because of the dark color it had. I smelled the burntness too. But when you eat it, it actually doesnt have that burnt taste. Had the beef skewers(#43). Comes with 2 sticks of the beef and has some vegetables in the middle, peanut, fish sauce to dip your meat, and couple slices of oragne. The meat had good amount of marination that you dont really need to dip any sauce Had the crab, egg, asparagus soup. Very yummy. Plenty of flavor. Has enough salty and peppery flavor. I like how each of the dish that we got came out hot. Not sure since there wouldnt many customers at the time we went All the foods that my brother and i were good but i thought it was a little expensive for a vietnamese restaurant. The portion of the food of each plate that we got were more like for 2 people so it wouldnt be good for large group. If you go with large group and get the food that we got, you may need to get double in order for everyone to have more than enough. Unless you get all of dishes, thats no problem. Its different if you get the noodle soup or rice plate since you can eat that on your own since it meant for one person After i left this place, not sure what they put in the sauce, but i had some dryness to my mouth. Even though it was only one person working and it wasnt pack, each dish came out at a reasonable time. I enjoy the food here. Would definitely come back again and bring my whole family here Parking around here can be rough

As a huge fan of Vietnamese food, I left here disappointed. Nothing was bad by any means, it just wasn’t anything special. And for the more expensive than usual prices, I just expected more. Better off going to one of the cheaper places-food is just the same. Interior is cheesy-fancy. Won’t be back!

Came here for lunch on a weekday and there was no wait. The restaurant itself is spacious, beautifully decorated and in a nice neighborhood. The service is good but I think the food was average. We ordered the large bowl of beef phở($ 9.50) and vermicelli grilled pork/imperial roll($ 11.50). The vietnamese coffee drip was an interesting presentation but the main dishes were both just okay. The prices for the serving size were on the high end in comparison to other Vietnamese restaurants so I would come back here for the ambiance mostly.
