Been coming here since I was BORN! Nothing like stopping here whenever I’m in the city for some home cooked breakfast! Especially my grits!!!

This is my new favorite breakfast spot in my work neighborhood. The portions are a bit out of control … like I end up going to work and sharing some of it, or being absolutely full into mid-afternoon. They cook right in front of you, which is fun to watch, the people are nice, the patrons are a wide mix of police, local community and people passing through. But, as far as the food, I really don’t have anything to complain about.

Grease. That’s it. That’s all I can say because that’s all I tasted. I ordered a breakfast plate and everything on it tasted the same. No flavor other than grease.

Breakfast is always excellent however come early when it’s not rush hour they can get busy and it will take longer for your food to get ready

The first place I ate at when I moved to SF, and I still have good memories. Had breakfast there today and still a winner. Lots of parking and right off the light rail stop. Only open until 3, but it is in the ghetto, and not an area you want to be hanging around at night anyway. Breakfasts are great, hotlink and eggs or bacon and eggs with grill cooked sourdough — yes! The burgers are good sized and tasty and the fries are greasy goodness. Any meal less than $ 10. The staff works hard, and the place is in a bad neighborhood, so they put up with a lot of crap — homeless, rude customers, etc., but they are always friendly…

I love this place! It took me awhile to try the place… even being a local. But once you bite into that double cheese burger it’s all over. And their breakfasts are fantastic! From the sandwiches to the plates w/grits…Man I miss this place! Get yourself over and try it out for yourself. Be brave and be early… they close at 3pm. PS. The new sign is very nice! I wouldn’t have waited so long had it looked that nice when I lived nearby lol

Ive passed this place everyday since i was a kid. I always wanted to go in but their short hours never fit my schedule. So i finally got the chance to go in and try it last Sunday. I got my order in and was told the wait would be one hour(this place gets packed and there is only 1 – 2 chefs in the tiny kitchen and the waitresses seem overrun. I was hoping to have an old school feel and service. The place definitely has the original décor in place, but is in serious need of upkeep and upgrade. Repairing the kitchen would probably seriously cut down the wait time and increase efficiency. The food: was mediocre at best. I got the half steak eggs. And everything was extremely greasy. Hash browns soggy. The only way i could eat it was by covering it in hot sauce. I was soooo let down, i really wanted to like this place. Price wasn’t that great either, if I was going to spend that much money I will go somewhere where its worth it. There are no other breakfast joints in the area and I assume thats why it gets so busy. Someone needs to open a better place near by, every morning I pass by I remember my last visit and wait to go somewhere else. And if you haven’t noticed the place is covered in cellular towers, they probably make more money leasing the space for the towers than the food which is why they dont care.

TASTY~CLEAN~TASTY~CLEAN. Ive stopped by here since ALLMYLIFE when I’m in SF. It is My Personal Favorite Place for Breakfast in SF actually Its My Favorite Place for Breakfast Anywhere… especially when I am STARVING!!! No matter how packed the place gets I never wait for my food for very long. I like sitting at the counter and watch them cook my food on the flat top. Almost Everythings cooked with GOOD’OL-FASHION-BUTTER!!! YUM! If it taste great why reinvent the wheel or even look for another place to eat. My go to is Grits, bacon and egg with toast for breakfast. or Hotlink sandwich or a Burger for lunch. NOM~NOM~NOM!!!

Best place for breakfast! The restaurant is very clean, efficient with getting your food out in time, tasty and perfectly cooked, good portion, etc. You can tell right away when a restaurant doesn’t handle your food right by the cleanliness of their floor. It gets very busy here at times so take outs are great for my family and I! Fries are fresh cut in the back, steak, grits and eggs are on point, pancakes are fluffy, shakes are tasty and filling, hash browns are golden brown, and the staff is great! Area is not so nice, but what do you expect from a hole in the wall place that serves great breakfast and lunch? You will get your moneys worth. A place worth coming back to for more!

Clearly the place to be on a Saturday down on third street. Grits, hot links, sunnyside eggs, burgers. Everything on the GRIDDLE. Saddle up to the bar and watch the link cooks get crushed with orders. Some decent people watching to boot. Burger had some crust, overcooked and a tad dry. The layering of veg was on point. No criticisms there.

You get your money worth I can tell you that. Plenty of parking and friendly customer service. Typical hole in the wall. I shall return. I ordered a bacon cheese burger, fries and a medium coke, came up to $ 11.35.

This is probably the oldest standing breakfast and burger joint in the Bayview-Hunters Point area.(If another local can think of another please tell me, because I am stumped.) I’m quite sure that it has changed ownership, more than a few times, in my life time, but the building with its worn out sign still stands and there and people entering and exiting every time I pass by. I took a friend here some weeks ago and they served us breakfast. It is ol’ school. Everything cooked on a flat top, but this is where the bus drivers, construction workers, and all others needing that morning breakfast fix go to have a meal. Definitely a local place. My uncles would take me here when I was a kid and let me sit at the counter like I was a big boy. Definitely, a treat when I was a child, since my grandmother was a great cook and could whip up a huge Louisiana country breakfast in a crows wink. But when we were going fishing or doing other manly things we would stop by here and have some breakfast or a burger. Don’t come looking for vegetables. I think that there may be one of those oxymoron’s on the menu, i.e. the garden burger. But I would not try it, I’ve never seen anyone order it so I’m just going to assume that the frozen paddy has been there since about ’98. But if one is intent on going where the locals go, B and J’s is the place in the Bay View –Hunters Point.

The best bacon and egg sandwich in the hood. Been coming here for years for breakfast and I always order the bacon egg and cheese sandwich and that have never disappointed me. Burgers and other food is decent but I always stay with my bacon and eggs sandwich cuz I think is one of the best in this area!!! So don’t be scare and head on over and try one for yourself.

It is fast and cheap and located right at 3rd and Paul off the T in the Bayview. . I’m no food snob so the burger is plenty good. Is it even remotely one of the best I have had in SF? No. Upside: it has a large parking lot so finding a spot won’t be an issue.

Been coming here since I was a kid-some 30 years. It’s a good greasy spoon. But I saw something today that may change that. My mom ordered potatoes and eggs over easy. The potatoes weren’t cooked enough for her so she sent them back asking for more done potatoes. Now please note she had already added salt and pepper and tasted them twice. They took her potatoes and put them back on the grill with everyone else’s food. They then used the same two spatulas to chop her potatoes up that they used to flip the pan cakes, scrambles the eggs, grill the onions, and make other potatoes. All I can say is it’s a decent greasy spoon that’s been around for awhile… but make sure you say your grace and have immodium or pepto on hand.

F & C ¼ H. An adventure to get to. Down the street from one I needed to take:
Been around for ages. Can see why: F(ast): Took no more than ten minutes from ordering to eating. C(heap): Everything priced right around $ 5. ¼ H(ealthy): Menu has a few heart friendly items. Egg whites no problem/no charge in the breakfast sandwich. Turkey burgers are an alternative to beef. Both were excellent. Bonus F(riendly): They couldn’t have been nicer and more accommodating. F + C + ¼H + Bonus F = 5 stars.
