Very cute, cozy place. The place is small, but seems to use every square inch efficiently. The bartender asked us what we liked and suggested a couple of drinks. We were happy to try something new. I had a Clover Club, a gin cocktail and my husband had a Blueberry spicy margarita type drink. They were both delicious, my was very floral and lemony, my husband’s drink was spicy in a great way. He definitely knows how to mix wonderful cocktails.

Zach and Alexis were the shiiiiiit. If I lived here this would be my home bar. Check it out and ask them for a drink based on what you like. Alexis is learning and Zach knows what he’s doing but together they are beasts. 10⁄10 would drop $ 100 again any time.

Nice atmosphere but I am giving it a five star because the bartender is the nicest guy and he is all over it on service! Service and great attitude like you never get anymore in the city. Is name is Zach!

I am completely and utterly disgusted with this establishment. My date and I walked in with very high hopes, as per the trusted Unilocal reviews just about an hour ago. We stood at the bar for approximately 15 minutes before we were somewhat acknowledged by one of two bartenders. First off, I can understand if sometimes bartenders get overwhelmed by crowds… but we were literally 2 of 15 people at this establishment at the time. We ordered 2 drinks and proceeded to watch the bartender argue with some patrons about splitting a bill. 10 more minutes went by, and we were yet to receive any type of recognition or drinks(even though we had made our order). Then, to our utter and complete surprise, the bartender who took our order straight up stormed out of the establishment while yelling on her phone!!! I decided to let the fact that we were ignored for 25 mins slide, on top of the fact that she looked like she didn’t shower for a week with her disheveled blonde/black hair and God awful pajama-like outfit(solely for identification purposes so this bartender can be fired), but to have someone storm out on us without fulfilling our order is unacceptable. I am sitting at the owl club gladly writing this review… A venue in which we were greeted warmly immediately and served drinks within 4 mins even though it’s packed. UPDATE: I received a very kind message from the bar owner this morning, apologizing for the awful service and inviting us back to give things another shot. I will say that I am impressed at the quick response to this review, and have updated this review until I get the chance to go back to SF and give things another go.

Happy hour until 8pm(at least on Tuesday)! Modern, trendy ambiance, above average selection of whisky. Nice place for an afterwork drink if you work near Union Square.

Great spot, small bar, friendly people. Girlfriend had a drink called the big thyme, which she loved. Not sure when the next time I’ll be in San Francisco but I’ll definitely come back here.

8 amazing cocktail on the list… But don’t stay focus on the menu and ask the bartender! You will see the passion when he ask you what you like to drink. Tell him a liquor and a fruit/soft/. and he’ll bring you the perfect combination. The place is cozy, a kung fu movie on TV and hip hop music. 11 $ dollar a cocktail

Friendly and attentive bar service. Cool venue with an assortment of bar seating, tabling, and stools both tall and short. Cocktails are reasonably priced and served in adorable stemware, stand-alone spirits are in limited supply but they do have things like Talisker for $ 10, and a selection of Macallan. Terrible and loud rap music that does not jive with the ambiance of a dimly lit cocktail lounge. Would be 4 stars if the music wasn’t such a mood killer.

Go see Zak. He seems to run the spot and has a pretty good gauge on what he’s doing. Popped in one beautiful sunny SF day to catch a happy hour as well as to see Giants whoop the Brewers before heading home. Zak was pleasant offered up their HH menu and explained he was working to revamp the joint. Both their food and drink selections are simple so this he said would change soon. Can’t wait, since I’ve heard/read that the cocktails he mixes up are notable. Had a couple Rose’s off their HH menu, caught up with the Giants and mixed and mingled with the friendly few that were there. Bar 587 is non-boisterous, non-crowded and is the perfect spot to post after a long day of galavanting.

cozy little bar. We came here after dinner to celebrate a friend’s birthday. The bar was nice and quaint for a small group of us to chit-chat and enjoy our drinks. The ambiance was also perfect for people to feel a bit more intimate and share conversations. It’s not one of those bars that’s blasting music loudly that we are constantly having to yell into each others ears. This isn’t a good spot for a big group, but if you’re looking for a quaint little location for a ground of about 3 – 4 people, this place would be perfect! Btw, the bartender hooked us up with super delicious shots. Super friendly dude. Made our night!

Zack’s the best! Fresh fruity cocktails and very flavourful. Been here three times. This review was long due. Went for a ladies night out. It is a friendly place where you can have a nice conversation amongst yourselves and others. It is one of the cooler spots of lower nob hill. For specialty cocktails this is the place to come to.

5 stars for drinks but 2.5÷3 for food. Came here for a happy hour on Friday night and discovered that the bartender was an expert in creating craft, custom cocktails. Name whatever flavors and liquors you want, and he’ll make you something unique for just $ 8! Definitely 5 stars here. The food is not so great. We ordered a burger, tacos and deviled eggs to share. The tacos were just ok, definitely not worth the $ 3.50 price tag. Deviled eggs were good, but a little bland despite the piece of bacon on top. The burger was incredibly bland — flavorless meat with a dry bun. The fries that came with it were crispy and dry at the same time. Overall, amazing place to come if you’re looking for delicious cocktails at happy hour — but skip the food.

A friend had suggest this spot for HH and it definitely is one of the best happy hour places I’ve been to in a long time. The cocktails were really well made. I got the vodka drink with thyme in it and it was refreshing and perfect after a long work week. The Kentucky mule was delicious as well. Prices were surprisingly reasonable and the food wasn’t bad either. Best of all, although this bar was small, there was a lot of comfortable seating. We could actually hear each other’s conversations. The bartender was super cool too. Who knew this kind of places existed so close to the pricey union square?

A great neighborhood bar. a good happy hour with delicious tacos or pull pork sandwich. Zack the bartender will take care of you. One of the best deals of a glass of wine in the area.

This place looks a bit divey at first when you go in but they have some really good cocktails(though a limited selection). I came on a Friday night at around 9 and the bar was pretty full with barely side any side seats left. By 10:30, the place was only a 1⁄3 full. If you must try one drink there try the Church! It tastes like you’re drinking a fresh squeezed orange. It’s amazing and delicious. you can barely taste the alcohol! The church contains: gin, aperol, lemon, cocchi Americano. It’s apparently a favorite at the bar, and I can definitely see why! I will be back to try out their other drinks!

10 stars!!! I loved this place! My friends and I were looking for a spot to catch up and grab some drinks after work and I spontaneously chose this place after being on a time crunch to decide on a location. The bartender was super awesome and friendly and greeted us very nicely when we walked in. What you can’t beat: their $ 8 happy hour cocktails! I tried their bramble cocktail, church and big thyme which were all amazing. Even when I couldn’t decide on something on the menu, the bartender told me he could make me anything I wanted for the same $ 8 price. He ended up making me some random gin drink and I loved it too! The best thing is that I thought that the cocktails I had here were better than the ones at Bourbon & Branch and definitely the best I had during my entire SF trip! Bartender def knows what he’s doing! Super chill place with great happy hour(and not happy hour) cocktails… would definitely recommend if you’re in the area! This place is awesome.

Bar 587 was recommended to me by a friend, so I had to check it out. During my visit, the bar was being managed by Zack, who was super conversational and friendly. I was the first one in the bar when it opened that day, so he made me feel welcome. Plenty of beer options, but I heard their cocktails are quite tasty too. I’ll have to try one of those next time. My friend arrived to meet me, and he ordered humus, which was hot and fresh. Great cozy spot to meet up with a friend and chill at the bar or bring a larger group to be seated comfortably at the surrounding tables. They have Happy Hour too!

Pretty chill bar. I came here on a Saturday night around 8pm with friends, and the place was pretty empty. We chatted over cocktail and wine — I had the Barbarian Bramble($ 11) with whiskey, citrus, and blackberry. I’m not a good judge of drinks but I really liked the relaxing atmosphere of the place. We didn’t have to shout to hear each other. Very cozy place. Will come back again!

Nice new chill bar. Met up some friends last Thursday, September 10th a little after 6pm for drinks. We had two rounds and watched some football. *Talisker 10 year($ 11.04) *Old-fashioned($ 11.04) *Oban 14 year($ 13.80) *Macallan 18 year($ 29.44) I wasn’t in the mood for cocktails so I just got a talisker and macallan. Normal sized pours. I ordered my talisker neat, so I thought it was weird that they served it in a chilled glass. Maybe because last week was so hot? The bartender was attentive and made sure to drop by our table when he saw we needed drinks. They have happy hour specials 5pm-8pm. I didn’t try anything from that menu, so I can’t comment. The menu had Beer($ 5), Cocktails($ 8), Wines($ 5-$ 7) and some food: Hummus or Deviled eggs($ 5), Double cheeseburger($ 10) and Ahi tostadas($ 12). A lot of their reviews mention their cocktails. Next time, I think I’ll try one and some their food. Since HH runs til 8pm, I can actually make it for their specials!
