UPDATE: I’ve been going to Kristen for two years now, and she continues to blow me away with her amazing work. Today she took me really blonde — modeled after a specific celebrity’s hair color — and I can’t get it over how much I love it, or how she managed so much dimension and such a natural look when using bleach.

I came in with a mess of hair: layers of different color, box dye, henna and highlights on a grown-​out bob. Kristen gave me a beautiful trim and rescued the shape of my hair, plus AMAZING balayage highlights that took me from messy and dull to sophisticated and bright! Definitely going to be coming back again and again.

Easily one of the best haircuts I’ve ever gotten. Kristen is really creative, fun, and kind.
One of my best friends also goes to her and we didn’t even know, one day we had a back-​to-​back appointment to each other and found out we both trust Kristen with our locks, great minds think alike!
If you need a specialty haircut I highly recommend Kristen. She gave me a perfectly chic asymmetrical bob— which is really hard to do! I was really apprehensive of how it’d grow in but it’s looking really elegant.

Kristen is fabulous! I hadn’t had my haircut in over a year and was quite embarrassed by my do and she did a great job in making me feel comfortable and in getting my hair back to just that! She listened to what I had to say and gave great tips on how to manage my long, thick hair moving forward. She also has a beautiful space and ambience and her pup is lovely. Would definitely recommend her!

Kristen is an incredible stylist!
I first had the pleasure of meeting her at Mike Page Style Lab last fall, and was instantly hooked. She gave me the cutest yet most chic haircut with blunt bangs that I was proud to show off. It got a ton of compliments. Since then, I’ve followed her to Battleborn Hair Designs and just got a fantastic haircut as I am now growing out my bangs for the summer.
What makes Kristen sooo awesome is first and foremost her skills and her dedication to her craft. When she works, you can sense her passion through and through. She is so attentive and goes the extra mile to examine and re-​examine your hair to make sure the best look is achieved.
At the beginning of a session, she spends some time to talk through what you’d like, and *gasp* actually does what you request. I love how intuitive Kristen is with understanding each client’s needs. No unpleasant surprises here!
Kristen is extremely skilled. She commented that my hair is most dense on the top of my head, so she layered my hair in a way that allowed my hair to drape beautifully and naturally. No stylist had ever told me that before, and while I might not have totally understood what she was saying (about shape and cut), I was impressed with my awesome haircut that really framed my face.
I’m pretty experimental with my hair, and tend to switch up my look pretty frequently. I’m excited to go back to Kristen again when I’m in the mood for a different look, because I can say (after visiting her a few times now), that I can trust she will make the best recommendation and give me a fabulous style :)
AND on top of it all, Kristen is so sweet, personable, and genuine that it’s so easy to talk to her and root for her in everything she does. Battleborn is her true passion and she’s an incredible one-​woman show! Her new salon boutique is so cute and chic, and it really is a reflection of Kristen as a hair style professional. She uses StyleSeat for bookings and it’s easy-​breezy to get up appointments. I truly look forward to seeing Kristen again!

This is an overdue review because I’m basically following Kristen wherever she goes. I first met her at Mike Page Style Lab and she gave me the best blowout I’ve ever had. I have fine hair and it held volume for a good 3 days after and retained it’s smooth texture for a solid week. And that’s saying a lot because I also have wavy hair but not in a cute beachy way but in a stuck my finger in a socket way, it will fight it’s way out of a flat iron. Kristen also has a great eye for how the hair naturally should fall after a cut. I always feel apprehensive when I get a second cut from a stylist because it’s usually only the first time that’s the charm and I’m left wondering what I did wrong to deserve the follow up cut I got.
Kristen however is a strong stylist, very consistent and knowledgeable. She listens to what you want and is honest about whether she can give you what you want but she will also talk about what she can do to help you get the look you are trying to capture. I have yet to be disappointed and very excited for the opening of her own shop. It’s located in the Salon Village which is a bunch of salon spaces nicely designed in a renovated bldg. I love her new space as it fits her style and is very warm and inviting but still modern.
She is priced very well for the quality and service you’re getting. I would highly recommend if you’re looking for a new stylist.

Kristen got my hair right, kept in mind everything i told her, gave me no judgment for things most of my previous hairdressers have rolled their eyes at. Sometimes bigger salons treat you differently when you use a Lifebooker deal, but I felt none of that with Kristen and she never pressured me about tip (which again, is super common with Lifebooker deals).
so sweet, sweet pup (!!!), and when she was washing my hair, she gave me a seriously amazing scalp AND neck massage. I would’ve paid her just for that. Like a few of the other reviews also mentioned, she isn’t the type to gab like a sorority sister and learn all your siblings’ names and talk to you about your work crush or whatever, which I personally love. She’s great at chatting enough to make you comfortable and then zoning her focus on your hair.
In short, book her.

Kristen is fantastic! I was so lucky to find her through a Lifebooker deal. Both my roommate and I have been seeing her now for almost a year. I’ve been trying to grow my hair out and she’s so attentive to what I’m looking for and always delivers. She is so easy to talk to and the time always flies while I’m in her chair. I highly recommend her for any one looking for a great haircut. It doesn’t hurt that she has one of the cutest dogs I’ve ever seen!

Kristen has done my hair many times, whether it be coloring my hair, layered haircuts, blowouts, styling or updos. She does it all! Including extensions! I was always told by other stylists at other salons that it would be too big of a process to go blonde or it wouldn’t look good, etc. All the times I asked other stylists to try anyways, it just looked super warm and orange. I’m super dark naturally, and at the time I asked Kristen to make me blonde, I was bright red! Kristen understood what I wanted and had no problem making it happen! I love my color! I’m actually blonde, and she did an amazing deep conditioning treatment to give my hair some tlc after all the color. Also, my haircut was great, and she didn’t take too much off and I had lots of movement without it being thinned out! Kristen is great and I highly recommend her for any of your hair needs!

Carmen (her review is below), basically has converted our entire office to Kristen-​enthusiasts. I got my hair done on ⁴⁄₂₆ at the amazing Salon Village location on Polk and Pacific.
I had a cut and ombré done by Kristen. She talked to me for a good few minutes to really get a hold on what I wanted my color to be. She then used a really cool bumble and bumble technique to get the subtle gradient I wanted with my ombré. You can tell she’s not only educated and well trained, she’s really attentive to detail.
Also, when I was already dried, she wasn’t satisfied with my color so she spent another hour fixing it. THAT is customer service. If I was her I would have told me to leave. You can tell, just by that that she is dedicated to her craft.

Kristen is amazing. I am so happy that I found her. I had gotten a boring color job the week before and was very unhappy with the lady that I went to. I found Kristen through Unilocal/​Styleseat and she was perfect. I had been wanting an ombré for years, and no one ever seemed to get it right. It was either too subtle or too blonde. Kristen got it perfect — I got so many compliments on my hair this past weekend.
Not only was Kristen extremely talented, but she was probably the sweetest and most enjoyable stylist I’ve ever been to. Like a few of the other reviews said, Kristen didn’t talk your ear off in an annoying way — she was thoughtful and engaging and genuinely great to talk to. It’s too bad ombré’s don’t need much upkeep, because I would have no problem going back to Kristen for another color job in a few months.
Also — super easy to book appointments because she is on StyleSeat & very reasonably priced!

Kristen is just the best.
I found her when I went to Mike Page Style Lab through a groupon and have been hooked every since.
I get both balayage/​ombré and cuts through her — she’s extremely skilled at both and has a great eye for where to place the color. She’s used multiple techniques for my ombres, depending on how subtle or dramatic I wanted it to look. I get so many compliments on my hair and she’s also reasonably priced. Don’t be fooled by the awesome deals you find via lifebooker — it’s not too good to believe! She hooks you with the coupon and I guarantee you’ll have no problem paying for her talent later on.
She’s great at cuts and blow outs as well. Oh and her little studio is impeccably decorated AND it comes with an adorable puppy you’ll get to play with as she’s doing your hair — how great is that?
The cherry on top of the sundae is that she’s personable and really cool. She always makes sure that she knows EXACTLY what you want and also asks if you’re 100% sure when making a big change in your hair.
I’ve referred two friends with very different hair and they adore her too. Don’t hesitate to go see Kristen for all your hair needs!

Like other reviewers have said, Kristen is a gem.
I have been looking for a new hairdresser in my neighborhood, and am so glad that lifebooker led me here! Moreover, she gave me top notch service that is often lacking when you purchase an internet deal.
I had the keratin treatment – which requires a bit of waiting around – and Kristen made me very comfortable and was very relatable/​easy to talk to.
The actual space is really relaxing, and Kristen is both quick and skilled – which is a difficult combination t come by.
I am excited to have a new regular spot for hair trims, and other future treatments, etc.

The shop is a new age salon, modern, and opposed to other salons very intimate. You’ll love the new sheik salon.
I appreciated the attention to detail and time Kristen took on my hair. I was very nervous about having a new stylist, but Kristen was patient made me feel extremely comfortable. She took the time to listen to exactly what I wanted and helped me weigh my options. I have been growing my hair out for a year and did not want to dye my roots but the ends of my hair were an atrocious mess from past dyes mixing with the sun. Kristen cut the ends of my hair made it look extremely healthy and did an amazing ombré. My hair went from looking like chew-​bacca to a dimensional ombré.

Kristen did a fantastic job, giving me a natural and beautiful balayage effect. She lightened my hair with color instead of bleach, which is a less damaging process, and gave it just the softest touch of warmth. I’ve gotten rave reviews from my husband, family, and coworkers. Thanks Kristen!

I discovered Kristen through a great Lifebooker Loot deal and I was extremely happy with the results. I got a haircut and a conditioning treatment, and both did wonders for my very dry hair. The cut was exactly what I wanted and she used products (a sulfate-​free shampoo and a keratin treatment) that I really liked. Plus, she is so friendly and professional, and she answered all my hair care questions thoroughly. She also recently moved to a new space in Nob Hill, which I lvoed. It was relaxing, clean, and very conveniently located. Added bonus: She has an adorable puppy. I highly recommend her!

I haven’t been to Kristen’s new salon but I have gone to her twice before at her old salon. She’s amazing. Each time I’ve gone to her she’s changed my life! She saved my hair the first time I came to her and worked on it for a good 2 and a half hours. I hadn’t let anyone touch my hair in years and I was so nervous but everything she did made me feel super comfortable and relaxed. When she was done my hair looked so healthy I never thought I’d see my hair look like that again. Then the second time I went to her right after New Years we decided to do a dramatic change and cut even more off and add bangs. Once again, she eased my nerves and the one thing I truly loved was that she remembered everything I told her about myself the last time I had seen her, a good 6 months before. I was pleasantly surprised. I’ve never felt so special as a client before. My hair came out amazing, I couldn’t believe how healthy it looked. She literally made my year. I needed to let go if a lot of stuff and going to her was a great way to start my new year. I will be saving up and coming back to her in her new salon because she’s worth every penny! And I’m so happy for her and her new place :) I recommend her to everybody and will always continue to come back!
