Rudy came out and helped us figure out the issues super fast as well as gave us great advice on what to do going forward. The staff on the phone was also very kind. I highly recommend them.

Prompt response. Reasonable price. I have used Bay Heating and Air a couple of times for emergency furnace repairs in San Francisco. They answer the phone when you call, and have been able to come out quickly every time. Vinko doesn’t try to sell you anything extra. He comes in, assesses the problem, and gets the job done. I can recommend Bay Heating and Air.

We had Bay Heating completely re-​do our HVAC and it is now an order of magnitude better than it was. The house now has several zones, so we only have to cool/​heat the areas we are using, and the return air was re-​ducted to make it more efficient, and zone dependant. Vinko designed, installed and configured the system perfectly, and at a great price. In 5 years we have had one problem with it (turned out to be a blown fuse) and they were immediately responsive, coming out to fix the AC in the middle of a hot spell. Gotta love a good product with great support.

We called this morning and left a message, by 3pm same day we had our furnace repaired. Tremendous, friendly and helpful. Maybe this does not seem like a big deal but after 2 weeks of very cold S F weather most repair companies were totally booked up with 3 to 5 days wait.. Thank you guys!

We recently just replaced our gravity furnace and Bay Heating and Air Conditioning did an outstanding job. They were responsive, punctual and very respectful of our home and belongings. I usually don’t Unilocal anymore but was so amazed by their customer service I thought they deserved some credit. I highly recommend them.

Bay Heating and Air Conditioning has been amazing! They installed the air systems for our new restaurant, and have been professional and helpful every step of the way. As we’ve been learning how to use the new, fancy system they installed (one system blowing over the kitchen, where it’s hot! another for the dining room) the owner has been super helpful and patient — coming to personally adjust the temperature and teaching us how to set it so it automatically comes on when staff shows up in the morning to prep. We couldn’t be happier with the system, the installation crew, or the customer service from the owner.

I’m updating my review. The owner Vinko just contacted me and it turns out they are being victimized as well. I am the 3^rd person they’ve recently discovered who was scammed using their good name. The company that called me told me they were Bay Heating and Air Conditioning, but in fact, they are not. The actual Bay Heating and Air Conditioning company, which is a locally run small business, has nothing to do with the scam being perpetrated by Green Heat and 1^st Duct Cleaning. They lied and told me it was these guys so that I could look up their good reviews on Unilocal before agreeing to schedule an appointment.

Who are these guys? They are scam artists!!!
They used some sort of telemarketing company to call me saying that I had used them last year and it was time for another cleaning. Um, no I haven’t and when I called them on it, the guy on the phone smoothly rolled into well in that case you must be due for a cleaning! I was a sucker and thought, probably so as it’s been 3 years and I’ve never had my ducts cleaned. These are the douches who lied and told me they were Bay Heating and Air Conditioning and they were offering a special introductory price of $ 29.95 so I thought why not. Plus the reviews on here were good. (Obviously, they were not for the actual company doing the work.)
Ugh, big mistake. First off, I told them they had to be here at 8am because I work from home and my calls start around 9am. They didn’t get here until 9:25. I had 5 minutes to set them up before my next call, but it was a mess b/​c the vacuum was so loud my clients could hear it and so I had to go to the back room. Then the tech kept interrupting me asking me to fill out the form and how was I going to pay and trying to upsell me on other services and products, like a lifetime washable filter. I told the guy that I was on a call! Are you kidding me? He wouldn’t leave the room and just stood there staring at me so I had to ask my client if I could call him back in 5. I told the tech I only wanted the cleaning that was promised to me in the special promo, which was furnace blower, all ducts, and dryer duct. Then his supervisor calls me and tries to get me to tack on additional services! WTF? The guy only vacuumed the bottom of my furnace for 3 minutes (which I could easily have done) and then he tried to leave! I had to remind him about the dryer duct, which I have no idea if he actually did b/​c I had to get back on the call! He never cleaned the air ducts that were in the rooms and he insisted I pay by cash or check, not credit card. Then he skedaddled out of there.
I called to complain and they said they would get back to me. Seriously?
I’m giving Bay Heating and Air Conditioning 4 stars even though I’ve never used them b/​c they are conscientious and were also victimized. They said that they don’t actually clean air ducts, but I would give these guys a try if I ever needed any of the services they do offer. Plus, I couldn’t leave a review to warn others without a rating, so…

Need to point out a lack of customer service with these guys…
I had called Bay Heating and Air Conditioning to come inspect my furnace back about 2 months ago, on a Saturday. Jess said he would check his schedule and call back with a time. There was no call back.
I called back a few hours later to find out what happened. Jess said he would be in the area to do another job at 3:00, and would come to my place at 4:00. Waited until 4:30, and then called Jessie. He said he was doing a second job, and couldn’t come that day.
We scheduled for 8:00 to 10:00 the following morning. Waited until 12:00. Would have appreciated a call letting me know they couldn’t come for whatever reason. Called them to find out what happened. Jess said they had scheduling problems, and would have someone from the «office» call me back and reschedule.
Someone (Tom?) did call back in a few minutes, but thought he was dealing with someone else at a different address. Said he would call me back in a few minutes to let me know who could come by … but no call again…
Would have appreciated if they had told me they wouldn’t be able to come, for whatever reason, instead of making me waste my time scheduling multiple times, then, waiting for them to come.
The one star is for answering the phone on a weekend.

So my problem was me. I decided I was smart enough to install my new thermostat on my own. I wasn’t.
So I emailed and before he even came out Vinko explained how I could fix the problem myself. Unfortunately my wiring wasn’t «normal» so the tech support (free) didn’t help me.
When he did come out he was quick, wired everything up and even programmed it for me. In the process he showed me how to replace my air filter as well.
It was, I’m sure, easy money for him… but now the thermostat works and I’m smarter for it!

I honestly can’t speak to the actual skills (because I get the feeling I was Furnace 101) but customer service was terrific!

Vinko installed a new furnace in our Victorian fixer and we are super happy.
He is really personable and professional, and gave us great advice on the best way to do the work without doing to much damage to our old lathe-​and-​plaster walls. He was patient with our questions.
The work was done on time, and everything went just as anticipated.
And the best part is that we have a warm and toasty house after 2 years of freezing!

We had some storm damage and lost a vent on the roof. I called our boiler company and was given a number for Vinko at Bay Heating. He came out promptly and I was told i would get an estimate and work could start as soon as a couple days. I never heard back from him. I called him multiple times leaving Voicemails. I emailed him a couple times and I also contact our boiler company who said they would try and contact him. This was all three weeks ago. I gave up at this point. Very unprofessional.

I called because the heat in our home decided it didn’t want to work during the coldest week of the year. I called at 9:15am. They said that they are close to my home and could be there in about 20 mins. By 10:30am, a part was replaced, our heat was up and running and now we are warm and toasty.
Friendly, fast service. 90 day guarantee. That’s good business. Thank you!

Vinko from Bay Heating came out to fix my furnace. The thing was, his initial diagnosis was wrong; he spent a few hours getting and replacing a cheap part that did not fix the problem. He then determined the problem was more substantial and expensive: replacing the blower motor. Since his first diagnosis was not correct he offered not to charge me anything for the time he had spent so far, or the part that did not fix the problem! In my experience that is unprecedented… usually, once you start billing time you get sucked into a hole of increasing expense and the repair guy never lets you off the hook for time spent pursuing something that didn’t turn out to be the problem. Vinko changed my world view of what one can expect from a repair guy and I will always choose to use them in the future!

1 star for answering the phone on the weekend, 5 stars for telling me I didnt need an expensive, manufacturer-​specific part. Guy walked me through what I needed on the phone in 3 minutes. Really amazing. Will definitely try them out again.

Bay Heating installed two brand new heating system in a set of flats that had only wall heaters. The did a great job. Everything was done it a timely manner. The were very neat and clean. Vinko the owner was very easy to work with. I highly recommend them.

Last Monday (4 days before Christmas) my furnace wasn’t working properly, and I was freezing! I called two heating companies for an estimate. Bay Heating was able to give me the quickest and lowest estimate to fix my furnace, so i went with them.
My furnace was up and running barely 24 hours later! I would call Bay Heating again in a hot minute!

vinko is the man! called him to get emergency repair on the house furnace, he came over same day and hooked it up! great attitude with no pressure sales. very professional, also gave me a run-​down on the whole system. i will definitely recommend this business, and call them in the future.

I was looking into replacing my furnace and asked them to come out to give me a estimate. The guy came and was very professional. He gave me a ball park number and promised to send me formal estimate. After 2 weeks I called the store again and they promised to get back to me. A week later I call the guy who came out directly and reminded him and he promised to send it to me same day. I am still waiting. Business must be good at Bay Heating… I wouldn’t want to work with them.
UPDATE: Funny enough the guy just called today apologizing and telling me he sent me the invoice. Updating my rating to 2 stars.

I guess if you want to have someone fix your a/​c, please try somebody else. I’ve probably called them 6 times before someone finally schedule a technician out to give us an estimate. And after the walk-​through, he said he’ll get back to us that afternoon or next morning with a proposal. Well, it’s only been another 3 weeks and 3 more phone calls. I’ve give up and went with a REAL company with a REAL technician that got the job done. Thanks Bay Heating. From now on, we are going with Downing Heating and Air Conditioning.

Vinko recently completed the installation of a mini-​split air conditioning system for me just in time for the summer heat waves! Very responsive to my calls, completed the work in a timely and quality fashion, and was reasonably priced, too. Thanks!
