Beach Chalet Soccer Fields

Big fan of the location and surrounding park, but due to the natural grass the fields are largely fenced off and locked to keep the grass in good shape. The fields aren’t used as much as they could be due to trying to keep the grass up to par but even then it is pitted, and uneven. The last three times I decided to go to kick a ball around the fields were locked up and no one was using them so we ended up finding spots in Golden Gate park.
I can honestly say I can’t wait until the new turf fields are put in place because there is a true lack of fields in San Francisco and you see players laughing, working out and having a good time until the lights shut off every night. Every turf field is usually overcrowded with players and parks like this, the polo fields, Crocker Amazon, and Steiner Fields are in high demand and will be greatly appreciated by all the players like me!

This is a beautiful area with a grass athletic field in it. We enjoy it not only for informal sports games but also for viewing wildlife (Audubon has found over 70 species of birds out here!). Users should know that there are plans to replace the grass and trees with over 7 acres of artificial turf. Also, 150,000 watts of lighting will be installed that will destroy the habitat for birds and bird-​watchers and also impact nearby Ocean Beach. FYI — there are doors on the ladies’ room stalls, but Rec and Park now locks the restroom — you can only get in if you have a permit to use the fields. This is part of Rec and Park’s new Pay to Play policy. Regular park users and non-​paying guests are out of luck.

This is a great field for ultimate frisbee.
This is the spot for various league and tournaments in SF. It is alos perfect for seeing a sweet sunset as discs are soaring to an open player.

umm…excuse me, but what happened to the doors in your women’s restroom? i’m not talking about the «front door entrance»…but you know, the bathroom stall doors. why does it feel like a woman’s urinal?
i’m glad that the restroom has around 5 toilets and stall walls. but no doors? not even a curtain? how come? dont you know some sick pervert can accidently walk in and watch women pee? they can even take pictures or even hide a camcorder in the bathroom! its for the whole world to see! can we get some privacy please?!
luckily, theres ONE stall with a door! but that happens to be the handicap stall. if theres ever a line, i wouldnt mind waiting 15 – 30 minutes for that stall. cuz i dont think i want some random ass person staring at my cooch while i take a piss… or vice versa…
by the way, awesome soccer field! i had a great time playing soccer here.
