I took Tom’s class out of curiosity about getting better at pool, and years later, I’m still using the techniques he taught me to get the edge on my friends in casual bar games. For those who have greater ambitions with pool, Tom’s method is excellent for honing your specific skills, giving you exercises to improve upon, strategizing, and getting your mind in the right place to perform the shot you’ve decided on.

I have taken several lessons from Tom, including a couple of classes and a private lesson. If you are committed to improving your game, these lessons DO help. Recently I had a private lesson and he suggested a small change in my stroke which improved my shot immediately. He also taught me an aiming system that I have subsequently been practicing that is building accuracy. I can’t say enough about the benefits of some lessons. He provides drills that can keep you busy for months.

I’d been wanting to learn to play pool since I was a kid, and my attempts to play in bars, didn’t do me any good. I found this school and met Tom, and after a few sessions we had covered all the fundamentals, and I now have a solid base to work with and improve my skills. Tom is really friendly and full of anecdotes, and will work with you to find what works for you. I have vision and perspective issues, which we were able to work with and I’ve learned how to correct my aim thanks to Tom. I highly recommend contacting Tom if you want to learn or fix your fundamentals and improve your game. When I’ll have trained more, I’ll definitely get back to Tom for advice and strategies.

ok, so when i came to sf, i was just a flyby apa player! my game was ok, my attitude was even worse. i learned how to shit talk and hit some balls. then i joined the san francisco pool association bca pool league! and wow! i had a lot to learn. i ve only had time to take a class or two from tom seymour here at beginners mind pool school and gradually my game got better. i was shown reasons for my inconsistancies, my stroke became more solid, my mind frame was more«in the moment» and my addiction grew. because of this class and getting feedback from tom, this past january i came in third in the woman’s division of the west coast challenge. WOWWWIEEE, that was a rush. tom’s classes really upped my game and my confidence. I recommend anyone who wants to learn the real game of pool, interested in bettering their technique and wanting to be more consistent in their game play… TAKETHECLASSES! tom works with you and YOUR style of play. he doesnt tell you that his way is the only way, but A way. he works with you and doesnt try to mold you into something that isnt natural to you. he will coach you to be mindful of the things you do wrong, and teaches you how to improve on it. its all about fundamentals!
