The food is so so, but the service is terrible. Twice they messed up my order and told me they would refund me but haven’t yet. I’m hoping they move and we get a better corner market or restaurant.

This location is closing according to the sign on the door, and if you read some of the reviews below, you’ll know why. Service is hit or miss(trending towards miss), and often times very, very slow, even when there are few customers. Sandwiches are small for the price, you can do better(with bigger portions) at any number of places on Polk, such as Millers, Cheese Plus, or Blue Barn. Good riddance!

Not sure why it always takes them SOLONG to make a salad, especially when I’m the only one who ordered food. The food is meh and the employees are rude and slow.

A worker from this location walked into our medical office and handed us 50% off breakfast coupons so we decided to go and order. I called yesterday to order via phone and the guy taking the order was super chill. Order was ready when I got there and FYI we did 4 separate orders VIAPHONE. TODAY I call trying to place orders on the phone and as I was speaking to the guy, some lady takes the phone and proceeded to announce that they do not take more than 2 separate orders over the phone without taking down a credit card. It doesn’t make sense for me to give a credit card over the phone if it is for separate orders. I told her I did the same thing yesterday – she CLAIMS she was there and it didn’t happen. How are you going to tell me what I did yesterday? Silly. Going to stop by today to return that fat stack of coupons you gave us because we do not feel comfortable ordering passing these out to our patients since the service sucks! 2 Stars for the guy who took my order yesterday :) 0 stars for the woman on the phone.

I feel like i’m in the twilight zone every time I come here. Today will be my last visit. It always takes a long time to get food from this place, but it’s good and close to my apartment. Today there were tons of staff behind the counter, most talking(yelling really). In line to order a sandwich and as one employee goes to leave he yells«Don’t fuck shit up!» to the rest of the staff. Although I’m not sensitive to language like that, it probably wasn’t the best idea to do that in a café full of people. Took about 20 minutes to get my food(ordered a Caprese panini). After about 35 minutes my boyfriend went to check on his(Rustica panini), they forgot to make it. Getting a refund was awkward, no eye contact no «hey sorry about that.» A girl behind the register asked someone to get the manager for her, he looked at her like he had no idea what was going on and continued to stand and chat with another employee. I’m not a super harsh critic about stuff like this, in fact this is my first time reviewing anything but i felt compelled to do so because they’re just too all over the place here. Food is pretty good, staff has some growing up to do.

The counter staff at Blue Fog are so sweet. I’ve popped into the café over the last week and a half for tea, an eggy breakfast dish, a bottle of beverage. There are so many choices for food & drinks. I just noticed that they carry Dynamo Donuts… I don’t have to go all the way to the Mission to get them anymore! Lunchtime is a bit busy but everyone working behind the counter try their best to keep everything running smoothly. I learned that one of the morning guys is a veteran and is just getting back into public life. Best of luck to him and it’s great to see that Blue Fog hired this guy. I will make Blue Fog a regular stop when I am in the neighborhood.

Fourth time here and I love this corner mart. Everyone behind the counter is kind and entertains my small-talk with grace. They have a great selection of hoppy Dogfish Head IPAs and their sandwiches are amazing! I would highly recommend the Bahn Mi with duck pâté. The servings are huge and the ingredients are on point.

LOL at all the reviews because the EXACT same thing happened to me. To the owner(s) of Blue Fog Market, I hope you read Unilocal and notice there’s a very common trend as to why you can’t get that 4 or 5 star rating(or maybe you don’t care). Ordered 2 sandwiches –the Cubano that my husband ordered; he really enjoyed and said it was delicious. The one I ordered? Well it never got made. There was no one in the store when we went in and about 7 – 8 minutes into making our orders, the cashier told me that they were out of stuffing for the Thanksgiving sandwich. How does it take you 8 minutes to figure out you’re missing an ingredient(there were 2 sandwich makers so it’s not like he was making my husband’s sandwich first because someone else was making that). He asked if I wanted to substitute it for anything else and I said no since I was in a rush. Then it took another 10 minutes, including an appearance by the manager/owner from the back to show the staff how to make a return. I was annoyed, sure, but the cashier was friendly and apologetic. But then I came onto Unilocal and I literally LOLed because I now realize it wasn’t a one-time fluke with me because apparently everyone else has issues with service. Blue Fog Market, your sandwich is good and your menu looks tasty but that questionable service(like, not knowing what ingredients are available), makes me hesitate to come back if I’m gonna have issues ordering a simple item.

Breakfast sandwich here is to die for! This Blue Fog is a little better than the Green St one because there’s some minimal seating!

They have Blue Bottle coffee! And they were open late when I needed caffeine to keep me awake at Soda Popinski’s. Huge win in my book!

I have been to the Polk St location many times now and although the food never ceases to be delicious and fulfilling, the slow pace of service never ceases to surprise me either. For the price one would expect the sandwiches and other items to be delicious and they are. You certainly pay for it, but not necessarily over the top when compared to some of the other local sandwich places. The breakfast burritos are always dense and packed with ingredients. They go a long way when it comes to keeping you full for a while. I have had almost all of their sandwiches and they are satisfying but nothing worth traveling to get to. Having it as a local and convenient option is great, but I would not seek it out if I was not close. One huge plus is the selection of beverages that far surpasses anything else in it’s category for the immediate local area. The service here is the only real thing that doesn’t at least meet expectations. While everybody is amicable and never rude, the problem lies in the speed and accuracy of service. With even just 3 or 4 people in the shop service seems to crawl to a stop. Whatever the cause for the inefficiency, there has to be some sort of fix. Although calling ahead can help, there have been numerous times when the wait time just seems ridiculous for the number of people in there. More than once my order has also been incorrect, usually an item remains that was asked to be omitted. Overall the food is good, and the drinks /selection are great. Service, more specifically speed and efficiency, could get a lot better. I’ll continue to go but will avoid the lunch rush.

My sister-in-law and I stopped by to grab sandwiches for lunch on New Year’s Day. There were quite a few people waiting, and we were informed that it would be about 20 – 25 minutes before receiving our sandwiches. I appreciated the honest wait time estimate from the guys assembling sandwiches, and we placed our order. However, the wait in line to pay for the sandwiches and chips, drinks, etc. took up much of that time in and of itself(even though there were only two people in front of me). I’m not really sure what the cashier/barista was doing the whole time, but it was a little tedious. Definitely the most annoying thing about my experience. The guys working the sandwich line were super nice and friendly, though, and even came outside to where we were waiting to let us know about running out of the bread we’d ordered(and made a suggestion for its replacement). We ordered a Rustica(sliced chicken breast, avocado, spinach, and olive tapenade) and a Cubano(house-braised pork, black forest ham, mojo aioli, Swiss cheese, and pickles).(Side note, those two sandwiches with two single-serving bags of chips, a Pellegrino, and a cappucino were almost $ 40… wow.) We took our sandwiches back home to eat, and they were pretty good… but maybe not worth $ 11 each. I’d say we had two better-than-average, but still not very special sandwiches. Worth the price? I’m not convinced, but I wouldn’t resist going back if a friend suggested it for a take-out lunch.

They have wifi but they don’t give customers the password… That’s ridiculous, they consider themselves a coffee shop… All the other places offer free wifi and you«can’t give the password to customers?» I am all about having face to face contact and communication but coffee shops are where business people go, and want to to over things… Can’t do that without Internet… Just a little dissatisfied with them.

I’ve lived in the neighborhood just long enough to remember when this wasn’t here yet. When it came in, I thought it was a great addition to Polk Gulch. It’s located on Polk and Sacramento, which is very central if you travel down the corridor. The prices are a little steep, but the quality is good. They are also fairly well-equipped with Wine and Beer. Good Sandwiches. I’ve had the Roti, which was chalk-full of Roast Beef, Brie and Horseradish. I’ve now tried the Italiano — Sopressata Salami, Tomatoes, Arugula, Pepperoncini and Balsamic on a Ciabatta Roll. The Sopressata is for real. They also have ‘lil Bocadillos with two versions: A) Sopressata, Cream Cheese, and Honey and; B) Salmon, Cream Cheese and Arugala. And there’s Salads, Panini, Sweets… I’ll second-hand that a lot of people seem to love their Breakfast Sandwich. I’ll also give high marks to their individual beer selection, and their Red and White Wine options. You can mix-and-match six-packs. I loved the last bottle of Chilean Chardonnay. They have some pretty good wine that is yet to be tried. No onsite consumption. I have loved everything I’ve got so far. Even though I feel like I’m splurging getting a Sandwich and a Bottle of Wine, I recognize the quality when I get home and enjoy it immensely.

Sandwiches are really expensive! $ 10 for a turkey avocado! Also they make the sandwiches at a snail’s pace. I’m writing this review as I wait for my 2 sandwiches… which still aren’t finished…

I usually try to visit a place twice(unless there’s a such a horrific experience the first time) before writing my review and I couldn’t wait to come back for a second sandwich. My friend from Colorado calls Wisconsin«Sandwichville» because, according to her, everyone she knows from my home state likes sandwiches. I’m not sure that’s exclusive to WI, but it’s definitely true of me. On both of visits, to two different locations, I had similar experiences: Fast, albeit unfriendly, service despite a long line, a clever selection of sandwiches, and a delicious baked goods selection by the cash register. Everything is fairly priced. Their bottled wine selection is more than decent and on the weekends they have a pop-up donut shop!

I like this place because the coffee is great, but service bugs me. It bothers me that I come in daily and the baristas know me and know that I always give my extra change to the tip jar– yet today I had to break $ 1 because I was 2 cents short. Come on, just annoying. Be that great local coffee shop that I look forward to stopping in!

* STOPSCROLLING* Very delicious iced mocha. Its so darn good! The breakfast sandwiches are good too. The service is friendly. I’ve walked by here many, many times & decided to stop in this morning on the way back from the post office feeling super malnourished. I’m so glad I did.
