Great service, and delicious acai bowls! They were out of the Brasilia, so they made me one with dragonfruit, and didn’t up-charge me for the dragonfruit, instead! Go for the large size, you won’t regret it! :)

Better than the Acai bowls in Hawaii. I have dreams about Blue Hawaii. Their bowls are filled to the rim and are substantial. We had the Classic, Kaiser, and Lime Fresh — all are incredible. Everything is organic and it’s surprisingly not that crowded. It’s near Embarcadero Center and is definitely a hidden gem.

I came here after checking out the food truck, Bowl’d Acai. This had so many reviews on Unilocal but I wasn’t impressed. I had the original bowl but it just wasn’t anything super good that I would pay money for again. When I had Bowl’d Acai, I immediately wanted to come again. Not so much here. Wasn’t bad or anything. Just wasn’t impressed.

I came here during lunch because I was in the area. I got the classic poke bowl with garlic and mild sauce. To be honest it’s pretty expensive for mostly rice. Some of the fish was good but other pieces were cut the wrong way and therefore chewy due to the fibers in the tuna. Overall I think there are better places to go. I haven’t tried the acai though so this is only a reflection of the poke bowl.

We ordered the regular sized classic Acai bowl. It was delicious. You get the sweet flavor from the fruits, crunch from the almonds and rich Acai. I like how it wasn’t too sweet and for regular size it filled by girlfriend and I up. I’ll be back to try their other flavors and Poke bowls.

I come by here often but I always forget to check in on Unilocal. This is the best place for an acai bowl in the FiDi. Price wise is average given that this is the FiDi but you get your money’s worth because they really take the time to make your bowl perfect. My go to is always getting a regular size Classic acai bowl. For those here for the first time that’s a solid choice you can’t go wrong with. I asked the owner what he would recommend if he were to eat something other than the Classic within his acai bowl menu and he recommended the Kaiser and the Lime Fresh. I ended up choosing the Lime Fresh and I don’t regret it. The lime adds a very refreshing kick to the classic acai bowl and has a perfect balance of sweetness to it. I believe that they are very generous with their acai bowls because it is always packed full. Definitely a must try if you’re near the embarcadero centers.

Blue Hawaii is perhaps one of the few places in FiDi that serve açai and poke bowls.(The other one is Bowl’d Acai, but they’re mainly situated in Mint Plaza, although hopefully they will have a truck in FiDi again). Anyway, got a small Classic Acai Bowl for $ 7.85. Albeit a tad expensive, I enjoyed this one a lot. I think it’s better than the bowl from Bowl’d Acai in that this place was able to achieve the perfect level of sweetness, texture(not too icy or gloopy), and freshness of ingredients. I felt energized right after eating it! Given that it’s expensive, keep in mind that 1) Ingredients are expensive, 2) It’s SF, and 3) IT’S SANFRANCISCO. There’s a premium to pay when it comes to eating here, it comes with the territory…

I came here for lunch one afternoon and got a «large» poke bowl. It cost over $ 16. For that price, I could have sat down at a Japanese restaurant and gotten a Chirashi bowl. Even the«large» was fairly small and I was left hungry afterwards. The actual poke bowl was ok, but there was too much sauce for my taste. Spending $ 16 for a small poke bowl is too rich for my blood. Unfortunately, I won’t be back.

Absolutely loved their classic acai bowl!( ) The line here can get pretty long during weekday lunch hours but it moves pretty fast. There’s plenty of seating around the restaurant if all the chairs inside are taken. I’ve never had an acai bowl before and I have to say I’m a fan. The bowl had the perfect amount of sweetness and a good balance of yogurt and mixing to keep the texture of each bite interesting.

Taste and flavors of Hawaii, in the Embarcadero, San Francisco! Excellent acai bowls, sweet, rich acai topped with granola and fruits for a healthy lunch break. They make a great poke bowl, using ahi cubes, Kim Chee and pickled ginger over furikake white rice. They also serve Hawaiian canned juice and water bottles in Hawaii. This place is the perfect spot for homesick kamaina or for the frequent flyers that visit Lanikai juice!

The acai bowl here is so good that I came back twice later that week… no shame. Acai bowls are becoming pretty popular, but I think Blue Hawaii Acai Café has the perfect acai bowl. It’s got the right amount of sweetness and the right texture — it’s not super icy or too gloppy like other places. Just right, like the baby bear in Goldilocks and the three bears. The first time I came here I got the small and regret not getting the medium… I was yearning for more after each bite! That was when I was determined to come back for another later in the week. I also later tried the poke bowl, but was not impressed… It was pricy for what it was worth. They also run out of poke by ~1pm so be sure to get there before then. Afterwards, I ordered a medium sized acai bowl, and I’m pretty sure the cashier judged me… but to be fair, the poke bowl left me unsatisfied so I caved in and bought an acai bowl(my poor wallet…). All in all, the acai bowls come out pretty quickly and there hasn’t been a long wait every time I’ve been. If you’ve been dreaming about Hawaii, this is your next destination!

I only come here to get the poke bowls. It’s the closest spot near my work that serves it that’s not outrageously expensive. Don’t get me wrong, it’s still pricey but not super expensive for a smaller portion. It’s pretty decent and always fulfills that poke craving. However… I recently just tried the Classic Acai Bowl here and it was so damn good! Texture was perfect, topped with fresh bananas, sweet berries, crunchy granola and honey… Wow! Don’t know why it took me so long to try it, but it looks like I’ll be coming here a little bit more often, especially on warm SF days.

I absolutely love acai bowls and this place is definitely the best place to get them in the city! Located in the embarcadero 2 center, it is quite a drive to make from where I live. Luckily, I work close by so I come here during my lunch break! The bowls are a bit pricey but worth the money. I got a small and thought the portion size was generous. Their acai blend doesn’t come out too chunky or too watery which is good because that’s the way it should be. With that being said, it does melt quickly so make sure to gobble up all that deliciousness before it gets to that point. The fruit topping is always fresh and sweet. The granola is amazing as well! Will be coming back to try their poke bowls next time.

I love love love acai bowls, so to find Blue Hawaii was a treat. I got the Brazilian cause I’m a sucka for guarana. I did have to ask for no strawberries and there wasn’t really anything else to replace it, but it was still pretty good. The people were really friendly and there was very little wait time for my food. Got there too early for poke, but definitely wanting to get some next time!

Blue Hawaii was the first acai place my bf and I tried after we came back from Hawaii. We were craving it so bad, so after some research we picked Blue Hawaii. It’s a nice little spot on the Embarcadero, which means parking will suck =/It’s facing the street so it’s easy to find. The place is a nice size, has a long table for people who want to sit outside and a few tables outside(great for when SF is having a nice day!). They have quite a few options when it comes to their acai bowls. There’s also smoothies and poke on the menu. We always get the Brasilia bowl, which comes with honey, granola, strawberries, blue berries and bananas. For two people, we get the large and it’s a nice-sized snack. The acai has a good texture and consistency, kind of like a chunky smoothie, but it does melt/water down. There have been times when I’ve found icy chunks of acai in my bowl, meh. The fruits are always nice and fresh, never unripe, and the acai itself is never too sour that it makes you pucker. I wish they had more variety in their toppings — mainly bee pollen, love that stuff! I like Blue Hawaii, but Bebebar in the Mission is my favorite. The acai there has a great consistency, nice and thick without getting watery, and more toppings! I personally think Bebebar is the closest to what we had in Hawaii.

I’ve been missing this spot since I’ve been working remote. This is now half a block from my new office, making it more convenient than ever. I’ve tried my fair share of Acai bowls from my travels and this is still the best I’ve had. That golden, crunchy, airy granola is a game changer. Their Acai also doesn’t come out a soupy, melted mess compared to most places where you can taste an overwhelming amount of flavored juice only(yeah, BeBe Bar in the city). The flavors are harmonious and perfectly paired w/fresh fruit. I’m not a fan of trekking to the FiDi if not necessary but I might have to on Saturdays now just to get my fix. While a good portion of places are closed in that area on weekends, BH is open for a few hours which allows me to run down and grab my usual regular Classic w/extra granola and no blueberries.

I’ve been here a lot ever since I moved to SF– it’s my go-to place when I’m craving a refreshing acai bowl. The acai bowls are authentic, beautiful to look at, and delicious. Pricing is more expensive than what I’m used to(being new to San Francisco and all…) but once in a while, I indulge because it’s so worth. There isn’t too much variety when it comes to the acai bowls, but the classic is what I always go for. I do crave more options and would like to be able to have bowls with other super fruits like pitaya or mango. The fruit they use is fresh, and the granola is crunchy and great. What Blue Hawaii is most known for is probably their Poke Bowls, which are great. The portions are fantastic since they always give so much fish! I take all of my visitors to come here so that they can experience true Hawaiian seafood. I do wish there were more fresh veggies in the bowl because even a small sized bowl is pretty overwhelming and satisfies my raw fish craving for a while. The fishy taste kind of lingers in your mouth long after you finish the dish. Oh well, totally worth it for some damn good poke! Friendly staff too, and never too long of a wait after you order… if you are coming for poke, try to avoid the noon lunch hour because the line is out the door! I always time it to go at 11:45. You definitely won’t regret coming here!

5 stars because I don’t know what to say that would make this acai bowl better. I got a regular to share for around $ 10. Perfect breakfast or a snack. They also sell poke bowls here, but are not available until 11am so I was not able to try it in the morning. They also serve smoothies here.

Café: quite certain it means«coffee» in another language. But I guess now a days it just means a place were you can get a snack. :) Due to the reroutes of MUNI and the unfortunate incident of not having my phone with me to google the closest Starbucks, I stumbled upon this place. It’s located in one of the embarcadero centers and seemingly is easy to find just by being a passerby. The place is quaint and has a few seats, so it’s not really good for crowds or to just lounge around. They advertise breakfast or snack alternative which highlights Acai’s. I asked for their recommendation and immediately was pointed to their«classic». I got a small serving and was pleased aside from the $ amount. Lol $ 7 for a small container of some sort of acai soft served froyo that is topped with blueberries and bananas, granola and honey. Simple yet fulfilling. I ate a little bit of it and actually enjoyed it more when the soft served was a little melted.

Acai pronounced«ah-sai». I’m still not sure if that’s totally right, but I have to admit that my first Acai bowl was in Hawaii at the Ala Moana Mall and at the time I pronounced it «ah-kai» Lol. Anyway, my second Acai bowl was at Island Vintage Coffee in Kapolei across from the JW Marriott. That one hit a home run for sure and the lagoons right across the street sure did set the right mood. I ordered the classic bowl which seemed to be your basic Acai with oatmeal, blueberries, strawberries, and bananas. I think this place wants to portray«healthy» bowls vs those bursting with lots of sweetness & flavor(seeing as SF is known to prefer organic). The yogurt tastes a bit powdery so didn’t seem super authentic. I felt like it was blended with some protein powder like Jamba Juice does for their juice w/added power boosts. The oatmeal was extremely crunchy even though the Acai melted all over it. As my other reviews have stated, I love a good crunch! Otherwise, eating this didn’t take me to the moon or anything. I think I’ll keep Island Vintage Coffee’s at the top of my list when it comes to Acai bowls. The place is quite convenient right on the outside of 2 Embarcadero, about three tables for three small groups, and I’m sure the line goes right out the door during lunch since it’s a really small shop. A great snack to indulge in during midday break, so I will probably come back here again to try to rest of the menu :) After all I did just get the«classic bowl» so chances are there’s more to discover about here. UPDATE for Ken’s comment below(I don’t know how to respond to comments): I will probably try the Kasier, seems to have the most reviews!

Completely obsessed with the acai bowls here and get sad when I try others’ — as so far, no others’ compare. I love the crunch factor, the serving size options and the many different kinds they offer. They’re also a bit more affordable compared to some of their(expensive) competitors. It’s a great place to «learn» acai bowls actually. I always think I want to try the rice bowls, because they look awesome and fresh, but alas, I get mesmerized by the acai bowls and end up ordering them … time and time again.

As someone else said, the poke bowls(pronounced POK-eh) here are just short of life-changing. You could describe these as «sushi in a bowl» — which would be great enough — but it’s so much more. Imagine a bowl with fresh brown rice, topped with a special Asian sauce, topped with an amazing light spice powder, them delicious fresh sushi-grade ahi tuna, some fresh ginger, and kimchi. I will tell you these are pretty addictive, and you may find yourself wanting to order these bowls a couple of times per week. We decided to have some poke bowls at a big party we threw recently, and the owner was extremely accommodating preparing all the ingredients together and even helping walk over the prepared poke. It was a huge hit at the party — something people usually don’t see, and for people who have lived in Hawaii a bit of a nostalgic throwback. The smoothies a fruit-based bowls here are wonderful as well. Oh, and while they do have a couple of surfboard-themed community tables, this is mostly of a takeout place.

Very interesting hawaiian food. Had lunch here with my coworker. Both of us ordered Ahi Poke with rice and kimchi. Its very healthy dish, with good amount of poke and brown rice. The taste is relatively too salty for me, and you can order spicy or garlic or non spicy. They mainly sells the Acai yogurt type of thing with fruit, so really only 1 lunch dish. There are only a few seating, very hard to find a place to sit down, i guess people mainly get it to go.

I go here a few times a month and have always gotten their classic blue Acai bowl. I never want to try anything else. These Acai bowls get me every single time. I work in the area so anytime I’m craving something sweet and healthy, I run over to Blue Hawaii and order an acai bowl. They’re delicious and absolutely filling. The bowls come in 3 different sizes: small, medium and large. The small is more than enough but if you have a big appetite, you can try for the medium which is a huge bowl of goodness. I also love their poke bowls! However, get there early because they usually run out of these by early afternoon. The folks who work here are super friendly and helpful. Hunter Pence loves this place as well! I’ve seen him post about them a couple of time on social media so you know it’s got to be good. Their lines during the lunch time can get pretty long so like I said, go earlier in the day if you hate lines. You can also try calling in your order ahead of time so you can have your poke bowl ready when you arrive. They also sell kombucha, chips and other types of smoothies. Definitely worth a visit if you’re in the area. I love it here and stop by often. Try it! You won’t be disappointed.

This might be my new favorite place in the embarcadero center. Perfect for a quick lunch stop. Both the acai bowls, and the poke bowls are outstanding. Personally, I love getting the classic acai bowl(bananas, berries, granola, and honey). So many good flavors combined together, with a good amount of nutritional value. The poke bowl includes chunks of tuna mixed with kimchee, ginger, brown rice, and your choice of sauce. It’s a good portion for a filling, yet not overwhelming lunch. The other great thing about Blue Hawaii is that you can order at the counter and have your food in 5 minutes, assuming the line isn’t too long.

When we went, they were out of poke bowls. We tried their Brasilia bowl(acai, guarana, banana, berries, honey) and Lime Drop Smoothie(acai, lime juice, berries). Both were good though both were a tad sweet so I would consider this as a dessert rather than a healthy snack choice. Though in the realm of desserts, this is a much healthier option. Service was quick. Space was clean with some seating available.

I’ve been to Blue Hawaii twice to try their poke bowl and both times I ended up missing my opportunity. The first time I arrived too early because they don’t serve poke till after 11:30am, and then the second time I arrived at around 1pm and they were sold out. So unfortunately, no poke in this review. Not wanting to leave in vain, I decided try one of their Acai Bowls since it’s what they’re really known for. I ordered the small Classic Bowl topped with bananas, berries, granola, and honey( ). Believe it or not, this was my first Acai bowl. And I really enjoyed it! The acai was really tangy and the other toppings made it very substantial. Made for a healthy and refreshing breakfast which actually filled me up! So in conclusion, since this is my first Acai Bowl, I have nothing to compare Blue Hawaii’s to, but it definitely set a good standard for other Acai Bowl shops that I will surely visit in the future. And when I finally get to their poke bowl, you’ll see it updated here.

I’m not a superfoods fanatic, but on vegetarian lunch days I do try to eat nutritious foods like Quinoa and Acai. This shop on EC2(Davis st.) specializes on the latter item. Although Acai is a fruit from Brazil(that Portuguese word is pronounced ah-sa-ee), it became popular in Hawaii. BHAC is originally from Honolulu, the main shop is at Ala Moana Center. Brazilian acai bowls first appeared in SF a decade ago at Sunstream Coffee(love their Coxinhas). Now most local juice bars have acai. But this FiDi shop is more convenient for me, and I like the taste of Blue Hawaii’s acai purée a bit better(haven’t tried the Acai food truck on Mint Plaza yet). I usually get an acai bowl Classic small(was $ 5.95, now $ 7.25). Very refreshing on sunny days!

There are lots of Acai places around, but this place: 1. blends their Acai with guarana(Brasilia bowl) 2. you can add spirulina protein powder to it 3. steps from my office This is the closest in taste to the acai in Brazil(probably because of the guarana and honey). The portion sizes are big. The regular will definitely fill you up. Its ~ 10 bucks and very worth it. Big fan.

Feels like Hawaii with their fresh acai bowls and poke bowls! Good Acai bowls and poke bowls. Acai bowl was fulfilling with bananas blueberries star berries which was refreshing on a hot day. Simple and good. Poke bowls had too much Kim chi, wasn’t too fond of the garlic sauce because they poured way too much that resulted saltiness on my Kim chi, rice and my entire bowl. They give you a good amount of fish, but way too much rice, I had about 60% leftover rice after eating it. Glad they have brown rice and not white rice, plus it’s not really an option at this location haha. Overall, I’d get their Acai bowls again, maybe not their poke bowls because I’ve had better.

If you’re looking for a sweet and healthy piece of Hawaii, treat yourself to some acai! Acai bowls make deliciously healthy snacks or small meals. I often enjoyed them for breakfast, beach days, and post-hiking back in Hawaii, and I’m happy to be able to enjoy this taste of home again here in the Bay. The bowls consist of acai purée, bananas, strawberries, blueberries, honey, and granola. The granola adds a fun crunch to every bite, but I’ll sometimes opt out of it to make my bowl a bit lighter and healthier. Unlike watery ace purée found elsewhere, the acai here is a perfect sorbet-like texture. $ 5.95 for the small classic acai bowl seems steep, but that’s the general price of these types of health foods as well as its location in the Embarcadero. Don’t forget to pronounce it ah-sah-EE and not ah-KAI. ;)

A little bowl of happiness. That’s what you can expect to get at Blue Hawaii! Since this little store is located in the heart of financial district, it’s easily within reach for you all busy working people. It’s also one of the healthier choices for lunch in the area. I always say«acai» wrong. I sound like I’m saying«ASS.-I-…EE.» Like I’m swearing or something. I think I may have scared the cashier with my horrible pronunciation. Even though I’m fluent in English, sometimes even the British accent in me comes out, but when it comes to ordering here, I’m reduced to pointing. I’m here because it’s healthier for me than Jamba Juice, and closer to my work. The flavors here are great. A perfect amount of healthy sweet in a blended funky looking purple mess. Try it, it’s like drinking a blended Muppet! I know, I know, eww… or is it mmm?

Brazilians who know the true acai will not enjoy this ‘American’ version. It has nothing to do with the Brazilian acai berry.
