Boba Guys

Trying really hard to think of a boba place that I would prefer over this in the Bay Area and not a single place comes to mind.
I’ve only been here once, ordered one drink, and it has already found its place as one of the best boba spots I have ever been to!
I had a hard time deciding what to order since everything looked amazing, and finally decided on the coconut green milk tea, with almond jelly and 75% sweetness. This was the perfect level of creaminess and sweetness! Anyone who loves coconut milk will definitely enjoy this drink. The flavor is not artificial at all and their almond jelly is super smooth and not overwhelmingly flavored.
Definitely want to come back and try all their other drinks!

My favorite boba joint to date!
Their menu offers a variety of teas, but it’s not so extensive that indecisive people like me get perplexed just looking at it. I usually go for the more «traditional» teas like Jasmine and Earl Grey, but I love their Horchata and Lavender Black as well! I LOVE that they use real, loose-​leaf teas. I also appreciate that they use real milk and even offer dairy-​free options for the lactose intolerant who still want to enjoy milk tea. Their drinks taste freshly made and high quality.
They are also one of the few places I’ve found that offer almond pudding (house made) as one of their toppings. If you enjoy almond pudding like I do, definitely give it a try with your drink here! I really love it in my Jasmine Milk Tea.
If you’re a milk tea connoisseur, this place is DEFINITELY worth checking out!

Doesn’t live up to the hype.
I would say that the teas here are all pretty good (I’ve had lychee rose and the matcha) but the toppings are all flavorless. The boba is not honey boba and has no sweetness at all. The grass jelly is also tough and flavorless, not quite sure why it’s much firmer than any I’ve ever had before.
If the lines weren’t long and the prices were lower, I would be more interested in coming frequently. But for now, the search for good boba in SF still continues.

Would be 5 stars if not for crazy lines! Hojicha milk tea (a relative rarity), half sweet, less ice, with tapioca hit the spot after walking SF Pride. The roasted tea flavor shone through, the Boba was toothsome and made just right, but the line was ~30 min before I had the chance to order! Once your order is in it goes pretty fast, though. Excited to come back and try other teas, just not during peak hours!

Best boba that I’ve had so far. You know they use quality tea and I love that you can adjust your sweetness. I got 50% sweetness of the original milk tea and it was perfect for me. I came here with 5 friends and was the only one who wanted boba, after they tasted mine they all ended up getting their own boba. definitely worth going to if you’re in the area !

As a young professional, caffeine is what gets me through the day, but coffee is too strong and eventually makes me crash. So, my favorite afternoon pick-​me-​up is tea from Boba Guys. I’m already obsessed with the Lychee Rose, which I’ll have with or without soy milk and with little to no sugar.
Of course, Boba Guys have great staples like standard milk tea, Hong Kong style milk tea, and matcha green tea. Tea has countless health benefits, and tastes great. One important note is that I love unsweetened bitter tea. It is super refreshing.
If you’ve never had a milk tea, give it a try. It you are a regular, Boba Guys will give you high quality drinks at a reasonable price!

Strawberry matcha latte, that’s all you need to get! Absolutely the best drink, perfect combination of sweetness from the strawberry purée and enough matcha flavor where it’s not watered down! Oh yeah, add the boba, it’s also fresh and delicious! The line also moves surprisingly quick!

First off, I’m not a huge milk tea fan. I LOVE BOBA and I love tea, but I don’t usually drink it with milk. Boba Guys will be my only exception. You can adjust sweetness level, ice level, and most importantly you can choose what kind of milk you want. You can choose between fresh milk, soy milk, and almond milk. Having soy milk and almond milk definitely helps take away my milk anxieties.
As for toppings, they have boba, almond jelly and grass jelly I believe. I only tried the boba. It was super good, tasted like little gummies and super fresh. However, I did notice that they did harden a bit faster than other bobas, but if you drink your drink fast it shouldn’t be a problem.
Also they have strawberry matcha, as all you Unilocalers can see, this item is not shown on the menu. I wonder if there are any more «secret» items? :P

Boba is good but line is long! I waited for 20 – 30 min on a Sunday afternoon. Prices are also comparatively higher, but you can tell that the boba and tea ingredients are quality, so perhaps the prices are justified.
I got a 16oz Golden Black Tea with almond jelly, 25% sweet. I personally like my milk tea to have a stronger tea flavor, and Boba Guys lived up to expectations with a fragrant, fresh flavor that was not overwhelmed by the milk. The almond jelly had a nice, subtle sweetness, but the texture was a little harder than I expected. It was a lightly sweet and refreshing drink for a warm, sunny day in the park. Overall my drink ended much quicker than I would have liked; should’ve paid the extra $ 1 and sized up!

So disappointed … The line keeps growing and the quality keeps going down. One of the things I loved about Boba Guys in the beginning was that they were so concerned with maintaining the quality of their drinks. You pay extra for the freshly made teas which were made in front of you before, but now they either do not steep them long enough or they are pre-​made to keep the line moving. Either way, after you wait in such a long line, you expect quality that they just aren’t giving anymore. The drinks aren’t as good and it’s definitely not worth the cost. The only good part is the tapioca balls (they are still awesome). I was a customer since they opened and I’m just sad that it seems growth is compromising their quality.

I cannot get over the strawberry matcha drink from here. It’s the tri-​colored drink with a bottom layer of house made strawberry syrup, milk, and matcha green tea. All blended together it was a perfect green milk tea with a hint of strawberry. The sweetness cannot be adjusted on this drink because the syrup provides the sugar but it was not overly sweet at all. Boba was perfectly chewy. I’m dying to go back!

Oh man… I wish they would open one of these in SoCal! I’m so glad I made the drive out here despite the traffic and parking because I love some good boba.
I got the muscat oolong milk tea with almond jelly (75% sweet). It was a really amazing combination :) And quite different– I’ve never had muscat (grapes) in milk tea before. They also make their almond jelly and grass jelly in house which makes it extra amazing. I also tried their jasmine milk tea with boba that was pretty yummy. The boba is perfectly soft and chewy. I appreciate that they use high quality teas and milks (organic). The only reason I had to knock it down a star is because I didn’t like the regular (black) milk tea very much. It tasted bland and watery to me. But overall, a great boba place. I want to try the whole menu 0_​o

I’ve come to this location and the one in Chinatown a few times and I gotta say, it’s not really worth the hype for me. I’d give it 3.5 stars if I could.
Is Boba Guys delicious? Yes. Are their drinks of higher quality? Yes. Is the actual business pleasant to be in? Sure, as far as a grab-​n-​go concept like boba are concerned. The branding is pretty cute, with that cheeky little aardvark just doin’ his thang in the center of the logo. So why the 3 stars?
Something about Boba Guys just doesn’t do it for me. I feel like part of my issue is that my drink is gone in three sips… maybe instead of the 16oz size I should be ordering the 20oz? But I also feel like a lot of a 16oz from Boba Guys is mostly ice…
Had the Muscat oolong tea with light sweetness, almond milk, and boba today. I liked the flavor of the oolong with the almond milk and the boba had great chewiness and a slight sweetness, which is a great combo. Recently, I had my first oolong milk tea at Little Sweet in the Richmond and while it was a completely different variety than the one served at BG, it set the bar pretty high.
This drink, as well as all the other drinks I’ve gotten from here, are good. But they’re a little steep in price for what you end up with, which is delicious, and gone instantly. You want to be able to justify spending $ 5 on tasty boba but when the experience is so short-​lived, and there are sooo many other boba places to try, I feel like it’s okay to try this place at least once, just to check it off the list.
I will be back, at some point, but eagerly await exploring the other boba options in the bay.

SO SWEET. Please have more less-​sweet decaf drink options!!!
This was my first time drinking boba in more than a year and I was a little disappointed.
I got the DECAF BLACK (50% sugar) because I wanted something decaffeinated (my body doesn’t tolerate caffeine well). At first I was going to pick the HORCHATA, which is the most popular decaf drink on the menu, but I could NOT adjust the sugar level on that one so I went with the decaf black tea, which the girl at the store «recommended». Not sure if she really knows the drinks all that well yet.
The decaf black was VERY SWEET at 50%. It did not taste anything like a decaf black tea, but more like jasmine tea… I could not tell what was special about this drink or this boba place from drinking this tea. I think this is why there is only one picture of that drink on Unilocal right now (which is mine lol).
But then I tried my friend’s rose tea and iced matcha latte and both were so much better than the stupid decaf black. I feel like I was rigged. The rose tea had a very aromatic, flora scent, while the ice matcha was just beautiful to look at.
Anyways, if I liked boba more I would have loved this place. Just sucks that I don’t drink caffeinated that often.

Having been to the Union Square location, my friends and I happened to be close enough in the area to the Mission location to make a trek there. Had the Golden Honey Black Milk Tea with boba. My thoughts on the product here match what I said in my other review; the tapioca balls are definitely top notch and that you can tell that the good ingredients are in play. Downside of course is that the boba here is significantly more expensive than your regular boba shop and the line is usually out the freakin door.
Boba Guys is good, but it’s definitely not good enough to make me make a trek out of my way to come here.

Although I’m someone who avoids carb-​y fillers like boba, I couldn’t stay away from the boba at Boba Guys. I was told that their drinks were delicious, and that their boba was soft and chewy.
These balls were supple, and released honey-​like flavor while being mashed by your teeth. The concoctions are refreshing, with a little adventurous kick (Iced Strawberry Matcha Latte to Horchata to Lavender Black Milk tea etc).
Way to incorporate various cultural flavors to create one perfect cup.

My new favorite boba spot. I honestly don’t know why it took me so long to finally try it out but it’s AMAZING. The Matcha Latte is on point, sorry to all my other matcha latte’s perhaps I’ll take you back another day.
I love how they use local and more natural ingredients. Some of their toppings are made in house which is so cool to me. I haven’t been to another place that does something like that.
Im very picky about the way I like my tea and the Hong Kong style tea was on point. It def had the authentic tea tones and flavor I always look for.
The boba is definitely Grade A all the way, just like their service! The person that helped us was super friendly.
I will be coming back real soon to get more Grade A boba!

One of the best boba spots out there! They use Strauss milk in their milk teas and they do not use powder. I got the iced matcha latte in the 24oz cup which was $ 4.95! It’s steep compared to other boba places but trust me, it’s worth it!
I came in at around 3pm on a weekday and it wasn’t too busy. Total wait time was probably 3minutes. I recommend to everyone to get 50% sweetness for any drink because 100% is compared to soda (according to the workers).

Binky and I have heard so many good things about Boba Guys for WAY too long! Finally, this past weekend, Binky and I decided to grab some tacos and boba in the Mission. When we got to the location (very, very small), we were taken aback by how LONG the line was. Binky was a little hesitant to wait ~25 min for boba (we parked in 2 hour parking…). However, the boba fanatic in me persevered and I was able to whine about this «once in a lifetime» chance until Binky relented.
Boba Guys has SUCH interesting flavors. Binky ordered a HK style MT with boba and I ordered the Indian Chai with boba. WOW, both drinks were SUCH a treat. The tea was wonderfully strong (and very high quality…) and the cream was fresh, thick and delicious — EVERYTHING we could have ever asked in a boba drink and MORE. The boba in my drink was a tinnnnnnnnnny bit inconsistent (some tapioca balls were harder than others…) but the drink was so delicious (overall) that I hardly cared (big deal for me since I LOVE boba and could eat it on its own…). Binky and I normally prefer to go to more traditional boba locations. We have tried similar locations (probably Boba Guys knock-​offs) in San Jose but have never been too impressed. Boba Guys has changed the game for us – can’t wait to be back!

We don’t live in SF, but when we visit, we like to try new things.
Only downfall to this location is that it’s all street parking.
I had to really convince hubby to drive around, patiently lol
I believe the other location has a few parking garages close by.

Boba Guys ROCKS. Love the aardvark, love the interior, LOVE the Jasmine Milk Tea (at 75% sweetness)! The lines can be heinous but boy is it worth it. The staff is cute and friendly, but the boba is cuter and friendlier. I went with the Jasmine Milk Tea with regular tapioca (bomb) and my boyfriend got the Horchata Milk Tea with regular tapioca which was equally dank. You can really taste the quality with that Strauss milk…
This place is awesome!

I’ve been drooling over pictures that I had seen of Boba Guys milk tea before I had even tried it. Being from Seattle I dreamt of trying it and now that I live in the Bay those dreams came true.
This place did not disappoint. The way they make their milk tea is an art. I got a classic milk tea and it was the best milk tea I’ve had. Not too sweet and also great tea flavor.
If you haven’t tried this place yet and you’re dreaming about it like I was… don’t worry… your dream will come true some day too. And it will totally live up to the hype.

Boba Guys… where to start.
Finding this location was pretty tricky since it was basically being covered by construction, but don’t worry… you will see the line.
I’ve seen many of my friends get Boba Guys and I really wanted to try the hype. Let me tell you, it was definitely worth the hype. I got the Horchata and it was so good! I love Horchata and this one hit the spot. The boba was soft and not overly chewy, which was awesome! ⁵⁄₅ I approve.
My friend got the basic Thai Tea and it was also good! Good balance of sweetness and tea. Yummmmmmmz.
The line was not long at all. We went in and out in like 15 minutes with time to spare in the meter. It’s a pretty small shop, but definitely worth the trip.
If you are around the area, do come here.
GET SOME BOBA, GUYS ~

Iced tried a lot of boba in SF and boba guys is my favorite! I really wish there was one in the sunset district because it’s pretty far.
The first time I went I got a Thai iced tea with boba. Super good. The second time I went I got a coconut green milk tea with 50% sugar and that was really good too.
This place is super hip, and their design is cute :)

I heard so much about boba guys that I was really excited to try it out!
But it was disappointing. I got the earl grey 75% sweet with boba.
Idk if it’s cuz i got 75% but it tasted rather bland and not that flavorful. It’s like a hint of earl grey.
Okay their boba quality is good but just as how any descent boba place make their boba.
I would give 2 stars for this drink I got but I feel like other drinks here might taste better so I give it a 3.

This is probably my favorite boba place. I drink a lot of tea so when I drink milk tea, I still want to taste the tea. A lot of boba shop disappoint me because of how watery or sugary their drinks are. At boba guys, I believe that they use real tea to make their milk teas. The people working their are also really friendly and will fix your drink if you don’t like it.
I had ordered a hong kong style milktea and it wasnt sweet enough so I brought it back and they remade one for me. They also have the best boba. Their boba is cooked perfectly with it being chewy and soft.
I would recommend classic milk tea, hong kong style, jasmine milk tea, and matcha iced latte.

Parking is a pain in the butthole around here. My best friend and I considered ubering here from a different location but we surprisingly managed to find last minute parking.
I came here on a Saturday night, (1 hour before they were closing). The place was small but super quaint, they have an awesome boba mascot of an anteater on the wall. The menu is straight to the point and the guys were super helpful with answering our questions. We came here right before the rush and did not wait long for our bobas.
I ordered TWO bobas because I could not decide and I have zero regrets. I ordered the 16oz Iced Rose Milk Tea with boba and the 16oz Iced Strawberry Oolong Tea. BEST ROSE MILK TEA EVER. My go to boba drink is the Rose Milk Tea, i’ve tried several different ones from all over San Diego and the Bay Area but none of them are as a amazing as the Boba Guys. Trust me, i’m a Rose Milk Tea expert so just try it! The Strawberry Oolong Tea tasted like a fresca with a side of Oolong. It’s a great refreshing drink for those warm days! Both bobas have the perfect amount of sweetness to tea ratio and the bobas are soft and chewy. IDGAF if it costs about $ 4.00, shut up and take money Boba Guys while I gloomily settle for okay (and equally priced) boba back in San Diego.

This place is pretty small and gets busy.
I tried the Strawberry Matcha Latte with almond milk and boba. It’s tasty and not too sweet. It’s an interesting combination. The boba is warm and has the right chewy consistency.

I was ready to accept the fact that SF lacked a good boba place… until I came here. Their iced matcha latte is truly phenomenal. I could drink a gallon of it without thinking twice. Yes, it’s that good. I love that they sweeten their drinks with honey and allow you to adjust the level of sweetness. The customer service is also top-​notch. Now, whenever I’m told SF doesn’t have a single praiseworthy boba place, I counter immediately with Boba Guys.

I’ve been to two different locations and this one had quite a wait. But the line moves pretty quickly. I feel like the milk tea itself is pretty standard, nothing too special and actually lacking a bit in flavor…
What stands out for me is how chewy and perfect the boba is. None of that soggy or hard tapioca here! But they’re prices are higher than most places so it’s up to you to decide if it’d be worth it. I personally would like some better milk tea first since the boba is only an addition.

Boba Guys had me at «boba». Came here on a recent trip to San Fran and I am in love. This place is not your typical boba shop where drinks are heavily loaded with sugar and artificial flavors. It’s fresh brewed coffee and steamed tea. I am an tea enthusiast and this makes me quite happy. They have plenty of classic milk teas to choose from as well as premium milk teas. I went with the lychee green tea bathed with almond jelly and of course, boba. My boyfriend went with the matcha green tea with almond jelly. Both were really delicious, however mine was more so due to the sweetness level.
Boba guys allow you to choose your own sweetness level and the milk used for your drink; PERFECT. However, what is not perfect is the size of this place and the parking issue. This place is super tiny. It is hard to maneuver around this place and it’s very crowded. Also, we paid $ 6 for an hour of parking and that’s as much as our drink.

More like 3.5 for me, but 4 star because of the last part!
High end and hipster version of the boba! Of course this place is popular in SF!
Everything is natural, organic, loose-​leaf. With real milk (also soy or almond), and no powder. You can still choose ice and sugar level, which is something I value!
I ordered classic milk tea with no ice and 25% sugar. As for tea, it was strong and you can tell the quality is good, and the sugar level is not too high (25% might be not sweet at all for most people). It is tasty, but not worth waiting in line and all the hype.
BUT I also think Boba Guys is a good place for your non-​Asian friends to be introduced with the divine of boba milk tea! Since many popular places in bay area might make one feels a bit overwhelmed due to the large menu (mainly Chinese), and very specific «boba shop aesthetics». Boba Guys’s entire branding doesn’t have these factors, but the tea is legit (haven’t try the boba yet), so get your friends here! Get them addicting to boba milk tea!

I tried the Hong Kong with boba and it was pretty good. It wasn’t too strong but still had enough flavor even as the ice melted throughout the day.
I’m taking out a star though cause the other location is a bit better. The boba here was more squishy and there was a lot more ice to drink ratio here as opposed to the location on Stockton.
I’d still come back here!

I cannot think of one bad thing to say about this place. If you’re like me and like your boba on the soft, almost creamy side, you will adore this place. I ordered the jasmine tea with boba and it was so delicious I thought I was gonna cry. My friend got the matcha green tea with cream and I tried some and it was so good. I don’t like matcha and I actually really enjoyed how this one tasted. The aesthetic of the place is definitely a plus and the service is so amazing. I ordered and literally 30 seconds after I left the register it was ready! The girl on bar was like sonic the hedgehog or something (the bar is right next to the register so she was like lightning quick at pouring in the tea, milk, sweetner and boba).
To date, this is the best boba/​milk tea I have ever had. And that says a lot coming from a Bay Area native from San Jose. Just spectacular.

Definitely one of the better boba drink places around.
I’ve tried the strawberry fresca jasmine tea, classic milk tea, jasmine milk tea, and lychee green tea. All were good except for the lychee green tea… there was no lychee flavor and tasted a little weird… Definitely try their milk tea drinks instead. You can adjust the sweetness level as well.
Their most popular drinks are the classic milk tea and jasmine milk tea. This place won’t disappoint. I also love their homemade almond jelly topping! Add this to your drink! (+50c)

It might just be this location, but it didn’t hit the spot. I got the jasmine milk tea with boba, which was just alright. The milk tea wasn’t strong enough I guess, so it tasted watered down. The boba was chewy and was fine. I mean service wise, it’s good. I just don’t really understand the hype. I don’t think I’ll be going to this location anymore. It’s really nothing special to me, but I wanted to give it a second chance. Stopped by on a Thursday late afternoon and the place wasn’t too crowded. All in all, I’d go somewhere else to get your boba fix, but if you’re in the area I guess why not. You could ask them to fix your preferred sweetness level and they do have some things you can buy, such as cotton candy or teas. They do have a few chairs as well.

REAL tea + Strauss Milk = one of the best milk teas I’ve had in a really long time! I’m kinda bummed this place doesn’t have better reviews. I had the Jasmine Milk Tea (regular milk, regular sweetness) and it was PERFECT. I’ve never had a milk tea where the taste of the actual tea overpowered the amount of sugar in the drink. It didn’t taste powdery or artificial at all.
The tiny spot makes it slightly difficult to wait around for your drink in, but we happened to be there when the line wasn’t long at all. The staff was not so attentive and didn’t greet or make small talk. It was a really simple, Hi, what can I get you? and to the point service.
If it was a little closer, I’d definitely frequent here more often, but I’m happy to know there is a great boba spot that tastes like tea in the Mission!

The best boba I’ve ever had.
Matcha Strawberry latte w/​Boba:
–I got it with the organic milk also. The cashier said it was pretty sweet but when I tried it, it was the perfect sweetness! Not sweet at all, if you have a huge sweet tooth. (Which I don’t). The strawberry is made of real strawberry purée and you can absolutely tell once you taste it. It’s my new favorite drink! Im really happy I risked it for this one drink. (I’m usually boring). She even offered me a different drink if I didn’t like it. Which is great customer service. I’ll be back, boba guys.
Milk Tea w/​boba:
–Also with organic milk. Really good milk tea. It’s not too milky or too black (tea). The tea was perfect, and you can tell it was brewed and not powder. If you’re a simple person, this choice won’t go wrong.
PROS:
–They have a lot of options.
–Boba is on point. Texture & tenderness.
–The cup isn’t filled with tons of ice!
–Really nice employees who are very helpful with helping you choose a drink.
–ORGANIC MILK! Delicious, might I add.
–They make it all with love; from the syrup to the tea.
–Long lines but short waits. (Lines die down fast)
CONS:
–Pretty hot/​humid in the shop.

Seen this place pop up all over Unilocal,so I finally went to try it. I was overwhelmed with choices — everything sounded good. So I asked for suggestions from the girl who worked there.
She suggested hojicha, one of their premium loose leaf teas. It’s a green tea that’s roasted over charcoal so it had a slightly nutty flavor on top of the green tea flavor. Even though it was premium, the 16oz was the same price as their signature drinks ($ 3.50), so I went for it. I adjusted the sweetness to 50% and had it with almond milk and, of course, boba.
It came out quickly and I was pleasantly surprised by the flavor. It tasted slightly like genmaicha with the nuttiness, and the sweetness level was just right. The boba was pretty sweet and soft, but there were one or two that were a little hard.
I’d like to go back to try their other flavors!

Best tapioca balls I’ve had anywhere! Remarkably consistent — they’re always firm but chewy in the best way. WHAT IS YOUR SECRET, BOBA GUYS?!
The price is definitely higher than a lot of boba places, but I really don’t mind given the consistency and quality of their products. They also have great flavors — strawberry matcha latte is one of my absolute favorite drinks from anywhere, and today I tried their strawberry calpico which was nice and fruity.
Their normal sweetness really isn’t overly sweet (compared to places like Quickly), so maybe try something like 75% sweet before dropping the level down further.
The only downside is the line that’s almost always there, but it moves fairly quickly and I think the amazing boba quality is well worth it.

I’ve been dying to try this place out and so I was excited to randomly walk by after a great lunch in the Mission. Tried both their strawberry and green matcha latte with boba and grass jelly and not bad!
The strawberry matcha was good but a bit too creamy for my preference. Green matcha was pretty standard. it was good but did not taste any different than the many other green matcha boba drinks I’ve had in the past.
I think i’ll try out their frescas next time.

It’s hard to rate a boba shop overall because there’s usually a few great drinks and so-​so drinks. For this location of Boba Guys, I like their fruit-​based drinks (4 stars) rather than the standard milk tea (3 stars).
1) Strawberry Matcha Latte: this is my favorite drink here. It’s got the creamy bitterness of the matcha balanced with the milk and strawberry purée to make for a very tasty, not too sweet drink! I like it with almond jelly, but I tend to like most drinks with some type of jelly so that’s my bias.
2) Strawberry Cali-​pico: this is a seasonal drink (still available as of 1÷15÷16) and modeled after the Asian strawberry calpico drink. They mix strawberry purée with a little kefir yogurt, and it definitely tastes fresher than a calpico. I recommend adding almond jelly or boba to this to keep it interesting.
I’ve tried a few of the standard milk teas here and wasn’t blown away. My office is close to this location though, so I’ll be back to try more, and will update this review!

I love bubble tea and I was pretty happy with this place. They use loose tea leafs for their teas (that means no powder– super plus) and the barista and cashier were extremely helpful. They guide you through your order if you’re unsure/it’s your first time here and if you’re not satisfied with your drink in the end, the barista was nice and offers to remake your drink for you! Their tapioca pearls are also very soft and chewy. If you love bubble tea or just tea in general, you’ll definitely enjoy this place like I did!

Stopped by here to get my usual milk tea with boba before heading to Delores Park. They make their drinks on the sweeter side do i opted for the less sweet version which was still a bit too sweet.
Made fresh to order and boba had good consistency.

I think I’ve been spoiled by all the boba selection in Socal D:
Since it was my first time, I went with the regular Jasmine Milk Tea. The tea here was good quality and had a fresh taste but didn’t really leave an impression in terms of flavor or novelty.
Props for good hype and marketing though!
*Also parking is a struggggle because the area has lots of shops and restaurants around (but then again where in SF is it easy to park haha)

Now what is it about boba that brings out the youth in Asia, or is it actually euthanasia? That might depend on how much boba tea you guzzle, which if you are young, gifted and Asian, could be enough to give you a permanent brain freeze or cause suffocation by excess tapioca balls. Now I’m not a doctor, I just play one on TV, but the popularity of boba tea has been unequivocally mind-​blowing, and the Boba Guys, Andrew Chau and Bin Chen, appear to be riding the wave by offering their own fashion-​forward take on it.
I finally tried their product at their first shop after dinner at Hogs & Rocks up the block. It’s not my first time trying boba tea, but it might as well have been, since it took me a while to make my way through their menu as I was surrounded by impatient hipsters heaving audible groans in my direction. I impulsively went for the $ 3.50 Iced Coffee Milk Tea since I wasn’t getting any guidance from the order taker. Then I was asked a battery of questions that led me to customize my drink. First, it was the tapioca balls over coffee jelly for an extra fifty cents.
Then I chose the Straus Family Organic Milk over a soy or almond milk substitute, which I assume caters to the lactose intolerant among us. Finally, I had them turn the sweetness up to 100% which is their default option. I must admit the result was pretty refreshing (photo:
) as I pondered the meaning of the aardvark logo (photo:
), though in hindsight, I probably would have taken the sweetness down a notch. Now that I know the routine, I can more confidently order my boba among the young, gifted and Asian lest I be taken out by euthanasia.
BOBA — 4 stars… refreshing brightness if a tad too sweet
AMBIANCE — 3 stars… hip and tight space like a pair of snug white chinos
SERVICE — 3.5 stars… aggressively cheery
TOTAL — 4 stars… the Boba Guys may be on to something here

I love their tea here!
My favorite tea would probably be their signature classic milk tea. I normally don’t like milk tea because it’s too sweet but their mixture here was surprisingly perfect.
Customer service was on point. There were no lines when I went so my order was taken immediately. Waited a couple minutes for my order and got it.
Would love to come back again! I suggest trying their specials.

Luck was evidently with me one Sunday afternoon as when we finally decided to stop by here, the line happened to be short. I didn’t have to wait in line too long to get my boba fix! It was my first time here, and everything looked good, so I wasn’t sure what to get. My friend who was with me and who has been here before, told me everything she’s tried here has been good, so she wasn’t much help.
I decided on getting the 24 oz Lychee Green Tea with almond milk, boba, almond jelly, regular ice and 50% sweetness (only $ 5.45 which is actually a little less than what I paid for a similar drink at Sharetea). It was great! The boba was nice and chewy and the almond jelly was tasty. Perfect for a warm afternoon. There was a long line by the time we left the place.
Service was very friendly. The cashier actually took the time to ask me how my day was going even though there was a line. (Am I in San Francisco? lol) My drink also came with a smile when my name was finally called.
This place also sells quality loose leaf teas in bags, and if you need more sweetness in your life, Sugar& Spun Cotton Candy. And if you’re a fan, they also sell Boba Guys totes, mason jars and pins.
