Bobbi Brown Makeup Counter

Had my makeup done for a black tie event with Michelle Liang. She was so attentive to what I wanted and disliked, what I was comfortable with, and what features I wanted to stand out. She made my small eyes open up, and knew how to highlight my features perfectly. I couldn’t have asked for a better experience. Very professional and let me know what each product was as she used it. I would be back in a heartbeat for a similar event!

I absolutely LOVE Ashlee at the counter! I went in one day and saw they were giving makeup lessons so I decided to give it a try. I made my appointment and ended up with her by chance. She walked me through everything, told what goes where and gave me product recommendations.
However and a BIG however… I was leaving on a trip and I needed to get pick up some eyeshadow or something like that. I went in and Ashlee wasn’t there, but thanks to her writing everything down I would have been able to tell someone there what I needed. I went to the counter, clearly looking like I needed help and waited for someone to ask me if I needed help… and waited… nothing. 1 woman was with another customer so that’s ok. Another guy was counting lipglosses and I was standing at the counter with 1 tall woman, brown hair and glasses. She said nothing to me at all whatsoever and when another woman approached the counter she said hi to her but continued to ignore me. I walked left upset and kind of hurt actually and went straight to another makeup counter and told them what happened and they were so nice to me.
I like Bobbi Brown and I like her philosophy and what she stands for, but I can’t believe it’s that. So now when I go there I only go when Ashlee is there and I actively avoid the other woman and refuse to let her get credit for any of my purchases at Bobbi Brown.

I know a boy who likes to give me a hard time about absolutely any and all things, both real and imagined. You name it, I’ve done it wrong… eat with my hands, take a flying leap down a set of stairs, drink too much, talk too much, drink too little (ok…that’s never happened), you see where this is going. Because I’ve grown used to this over the years, I tend to let his disgruntled battle cries go in one fiercely self-​righteous ear and out the other.
However, during a most recent round of verbal wrestling, homie busted me out on my poor choice of blusher, both shade and volume. Guess what? I saw the pictures… he was right. God bless Chanel and her parade of beautiful bronzers but after an emergency trip to the Maiden Lane store, I left with no solution in site. It would appear that my newly blonde-​blonde tresses were a no-​go with the sparkly offerings of my old standby makeup line. I don’t like a heavy matte look for daytime, and Chanel had no happy medium.
A quick call to the Matron of Mascara herself (my mother) and I was hustling my hot ass over to Bloomingdale’s to hit up Bobbie Brown. Mom promised that the cheek stain was a must have. I nervously approached the counter, ready for another let down of monumental proportions. Alas! I was tinted, stained, and ready to go in around 5 minutes. The very helpful counter staff hooked me up in seconds flat and even got me turned on to a lip gloss that makes my whole face light up! The pricepoint is right (less expensive than Chanel) and this tube of bronzing gel (which highlights and contours EVERYTHING) is seriously about to last me years. The lip gloss is not sticky or tacky but also doesn’t get all over glasses or boys. It too will last a while.
Thank you Bobbie Brown– your staff are professional and your products are gentle enough for my baby skin while still managing to pack a punch. Thanks, Alan, for giving me a heads up. I’d like to pack a punch into you every now and then but when you’re right, you’re right. Go to Bobbie Brown. Get gorgeous. Ditch your powder blush forever.

I had my wedding makeup done there and the makeup artist/​sales rep was AMAZING. I had such an informative, relaxing and pleasant experience. I feel very good about my purchases and will definitely visit often as i work close by.
