Was attending concert at Slims and needed some food. The pizza is pretty good and the price is average for a slice, but the ordering process was weird. You have to order slices in the window before you come inside, but to order a drink you do it inside. Ok, I guess it is for people who want their slice to go.

I was at the DNA lounge this past weekend & got a bit hungry. There aren’t too many places close by, but this pizza place is right next door. I was definitely skeptical to try it out because it doesn’t look very inviting, but hunger got the best of me. The price was reasonable for a pretty good sized slice of pizza. I’ve had better, but it was something to fill my stomach. There are other appetizers, but I’ve only tried the pizza. Hawaiin was okay; I’ve had better. The pizza dough was alright, very thin. Not too interested in the crust(which is usually my fave part of a pizza). Not too bad for being something close by.

Good hawaiin slices. good pepperoni slices. They take cards(which for some silly reason is a rare thing in SF) I’ve eaten here two years in a row, and both times it satisfied my cravings for pizza. However, had I not been working at the DNA lounge at the time, I might have ventured further away. The staff there is cool, and you should feel free to strike up a conversation.

Sooo… I’m sitting at the autobody shop getting my brakes checked out and I suddenly became a little hungry. Ok, not just a little hungry, I was STARVING! I start walking outside the shop, wondering where I could possibly go that was close by and then BAM — Bowzer’s Pizza is right next door! I’d never heard of Bowzer’s before, so I was a little apprehensive about trying a slice, but nevertheless, hunger won and I took the risk. I ordered a slice of thin crust cheese pizza and a soda. As I took my first bite I immediately was impressed. It was thin, crunchy, hot, and had a great balance of cheese and sauce — yummy! I won’t lie, it doesn’t compare to other thin crust style pizzas, but it is pretty damn good. But hey, when you are hungry, it DEFINITELY does the job :)

Food is ok. I eat here for lunch every now and then since it’s close to the shop. I find myself rushing to the bathroom no more then 30 minutes after eating here though. If you need to get something out of your stomach, this will defiantly aid you. Staff is inconstant too. Served me beer in a plastic coke cup, it tasted flat due to this. The little Asian girl that works there can’t figure out how to heat a slice. I either get«cold as shit» or «burned to a crisp». If you need to flush something out of your stomach, or just don’t care. Come on in.

Because Bowzers is right next to dna, Renee and I stopped by here before bootie mash up night. We got some pizza that was A-OK, but the sorta flat beer was free due to flatness(which the bartender recognized without prompting). That my Unilocal friends, is what i call awesome customer service which earns extra stars. In a completely unrelated thread — the new smash up derby singer was rockin out to herself at Bowsers while we were there, which led to semi amusing series of questions about who this person is? why she is rocking out in a pizza place with a binder? and what are those people that look like her parents doing there, with her, looking like they’re ready to get their club on… All the questions were answered as soon as smash up derby went on stage to do their show.

OK, back to ordering Bowzers for delivery.(hey, I live on Potrero Hill, try to get a pizza delivered there!) The last few times, it was really good. The people taking the orders over the phone are still a little sketchy, but they are getting the orders right. The pizza itself has been tasty, crisp, well balanced. One very nice thing about the pizza is that it has a little grittiness to it. That not only adds some flavor but also makes the crust a little less bread like.

Good pizza and real close to my work; good meaning better than Goat Hill, Extreme and other corporate chains. We had the caprese salad, the french salad, the veggie and a pepperoni and sausage pizza. The salads were fresh and came with nice dressings, the french salad could have used more toppings. The crust was thin and tasty however the weight of all the veggie toppings made it not as crispy as a good thin crust should be. Bowzer’s is definitely a good delivery pizza place for work lunches; I might stop by and get a slice some time. Plus, the pug on the box is totally cute.

Not good folks. I am a sucker for finding the best delivery pizza in the city, and I can definitively state that Bowzer’s Pizza is not it. I really wanted to like the pizza here because it is in the neighborhood and is very convenient(plus there was no charge for delivery). When the pizza came(quite timely I might add) I was optimistic, the pizza looked pretty good(if not a bit skimpy with the toppings). But it only took one bite to know that there were going to be LOTS of leftovers. The sauce on this thing tasted Spanish — I am still not sure if I detected cumin, but something was distinctively Latin. Not that I don’t like those flavors, but I certainly don’t appreciate them on my pizza. Where was the garlic, basil, and oregano? Sub-par pizza, I will not be returning.

If you are introverted, this place is a Mecca on a Saturday night. Generally, Bowzer’s caters to four demographics; 1. Introverts, especially one’s that love Mexican La Liga Futbol. 2. Drunks from neighboring bars, clubs, etc., who have no designated driver and need to sober up before driving home. 3. Drunks, homless people who look clean, maniacs who look unobtrusive, and other weirdos who prefer flaccid NY Style pizza. 4. Drunks who come by, with the intention if sobering up, but, when they notice the beer menu, think twice about the errs of such a party killjoy proposition and wind up waking up the next morning near the Harrison onramp. Or, 5. Groups of friends that want to begin their drunken night here as a sort of overture to their night of getting plastered like 12 year old wall paper. I must report that whilst sitting here, it serves its purpose. The pizza’s good and the service fast. With the pitcher still 7/8ths full, patiently staring at me. I just thought that I’d jot that down.

Complelety beat from shipping furniture in SOMA’s showroom district, we smelled the welcoming aroma of pizza wafting down the street. It was Bowzers! The front is so unnoticalbe from the sidwalk, that we almost passed the place up. Thankfully there wasn’t much of a crowd, or any crowd at all on this Saturday afternoon. We ordered by the slice, Margaria pizza, and some veggie combo. Hot, fresh, and as yummilicious as any pizza could be. Combined with a cold beer, it was enough motivation to keep our shopping day going. Seeing that this place is close to Slim’s, it’s probably more happning in the evenings. Solid Three stars!

WOW! You can get thin crust and deep dish pizza here by the slice. I had a slice of the deep dish chicken and garlic today and it was just so yummy! It was packed with veggies and bite sized bits of chicken. I really haven’t explored their menu much at all, but I should also mention that they don’t just offer pizza; hamburgers, fries and all the usual suspects are accounted for. Browzer’s scored big points with me from the moment I walked in. They know how to lay on the charm, right off the bat. In the front window are two deep dish pizzas and a thin cruster. When you walk inside there’s a nice bar made of recycled steel, red brick walls and LCD screen tvs playing a medley of news and sports.

Been here on a drunken night and a sober night. The pizza slice front the stand-outside-counter look enticing. The triangle and square slices are gross as fuck. The thick«deep dish» style slice is the only slice worth buying. Never again, even though I work about 1 block away.

Booooooozers. Seriously? People think this is good? Ok, I probably could have given 2 stars, as even not good pizza is still not really BAD, but I’m getting a little frustrated here… somebody PLEASE let me know, isn’t there any good pizza in this city?(ahem, clarification, that delivers to SOMA). Frustrations aside, here’s my review: The pizza dough was passible, crust ok. Cheese was sort of ok(hey, it is cheese), but no special blend, and kind of congealed into a plastic-looking sheet by the time it showed up to our door. But it’s the sauce that really fell short– spicy and not in a good way that’s flavorful. They have a pretty good selection of toppings but the sun dried tomatoes looked like they came from a 10 year old can. And as a side note, the website kinda sucks– not well set-up, especially considering the phone number listed in large numbers for orders is actually the site out in the burbs. The upside is it came pretty quick… so if you’re looking to have somewhat crappy pizza delivered quickly, you’ve found your place. Now please, someone save me from pizza hell. How hard is it really to make a good pie?

Since I work in SOMA, and was jonesin for some pizza for lunch, I found goat hill and bowzer’s on Unilocal as the nearest and semi-good rated pizza joints. Although reviews for goat hill were fair, seemed a bit pricy for delivery pizza, denied! Sooooo, this brings me to bowser’s. I went to the website and immediately saw the coupons they offered. The bright side is that they have a great array of coupons that can be applied to delivery orders only. PERFECT! So the fatty that I am, I used the«weight watcher» coupon, which has 1 large vegetarian specialty pizza, 1 large garden salad with dressing, and 2 diet sodas for $ 18.99 after tax it’s $ 21.69 pretty darned reasonable to feed 2 people…(more like 3 people actually). So I grabbed a coworker to split the weight watcher with me. Their menu is pretty freaking decent. I didn’t really check out the other specialty pizzas since I was only looking at the vegetarian ones, but they have stuff like hearts of palm(the yummy stuff you eat at Brazilian bbq places), potatoes, etc on some of their pizzas, worth looking into getting next time perhaps. I called in to their SOMA location, supplied my name, phone number and office address, and they said that it’ll be there in 45 mins. I ordered: 1 large«the muttserella» — buffalo mozzarella, roma tomatoes, basil, garlic olive oil 1 large garden salad with vinaigrette dressing 2 diet cokes.(how American) I told the guy on the phone that the delivery guy didn’t have to come all the way into the building and to just call my cell and I’ll come down to pick up the pizza. EXACTLY45 mins later, the front desk calls me and tells me my pizza delivery guy is here! WOW! He didn’t have to come all the way in to find the office, this place is a freaking labyrinth!!! +1 I haven’t opened the box yet, but it smells like really good parmesan garlic bread inside. I sit down to open the box, and… I’ll admit it, I was a teeeeeny bit disappointed, mainly because the pizza was a bit of a soggy mess –1 But I will consider it as MY fault for ordering something with huge roma tomato slices for a delivery order. The center of the pizza was pretty smooshy, and the crispy corn meal crust was not crispy because of all the moisture in the box during travel. But the ingredients on the pizza were supreme. Juicy tomatoes(well, obviously), just enough basil, and tons of chunks of melted stretchy buffalo mozz cheesey goodness!!! Split into 8 slices(4 each). We didn’t eat the salad, and we were so full. So if you include the salad and split it 3 ways, it should be perfect. I’m sure that this pizza would have been good if I had ordered it in the restaurant. Now I know better. Will I order here again? yes, why? b/c I want to order something a little drier, and the weight watcher coupon is too good of a deal to pass up. $ 21.69 + tip split around 3 people, maybe around 8 – 9 bucks a person? And with that kind of delivery service? This makes for the perfect rainy day-I don’t want to go out to get lunch-type of pizza. So maybe upon my next successful, non soggy pizza order will I update my 3 star rating to 4.

Bowzer’s now serves up Chicago style deep dish pizzas along with their New York style thin crust pizzas. I had a slice of the Spin Rico with big chunks of tomato, spinach leaves, garlic cloves and dollops of ricotta cheese on top. The thick crust in the center was soft and bready but quite dense. The thin outer edge of the pie was nice and crispy. The big chunks of tomatoes made Bowzer’s tart pizza sauce stand out even more. The big cloves of garlic were enough to scare away my boss and my co-workers for the rest of the afternoon. I liked it, but I still prefer their thin cornmeal crust more.

I started a new job in the SOMA area and have been delighted to find hidden eats and treats in this seemingly dismal industrial block. Bowzer’s is pretty plain on the outside with a small order window. Inside, I guess it’s part of the 11th Street Café, it’s clean, well-appointed, cool and somewhat dark. There were a few flat screen TVs, comfy booth seats and beers on tap. I ordered a simple slice of pepperoni and was pleased. Thin crust pizza, nicely seasoned, crisp crust and just what I wanted from a pizza by the slice kind of place. Comfortable atmosphere and solid food.

While I’m grateful that the company ordered pizza in on this nasty, rainy, windy day — and I’m grateful that Bowzer’s was apparently one of the few pizza places in the city willing and able to meet the delivery challenge in such inclement weather — the pizza just didn’t stack up. A couple of the pies were mildly burned/singed, and the flavors were largely uninspiring. I second the reviewer below who noted that this is «pizza social”-type pizza. You order it because it’s pizza, not because it’s particularly good.

Bowser’s reminds me of the kind of pizza that I’d get in school for«pizza socials» when the whole class did something extraordinary like having everyone turn in homework on time for a whole two weeks. In other words — Bowser’s is nothing extraordinary in my opinion. There’s nothing about their pizza that sets it apart it from the countless other pizza places out there. But it’s alot better than round-table, they deliver, they deliver fast, and, they’re pretty cheap. (I also know that if I was stumbling home after a late night of drinking — and came across Bowser’s — this rating would drunkenly hiccup up to four)

I gotta say, these guys do a pretty decent pizza. Most people know them as that pizza joint right near Slim’s and DNA but we just ordered a large pizza for delivery to our offices. The guy on the phone said it would take 45 minutes, got here in a little under that… Bow wow, pretty good pizza, fresh ingredients, big pepperoni slices, a crispy cornmeal crust. All in all, I’ll add Bowzer’s to my delivery quick dial.
