This place is right off of Haight. It has a great view of SF when you reach the top. This place is great for a light walk, great place to reflect with places to sit and look at the view. The weather was nice so being outdoors was a plus. I would definitely come here for a picnic.

Seems like a town for the homeless. We also saw a dead mouse being attacked by flies. The playground is nice but isolated. Some man showed up to work out in the playground with his dog, which is against the rules. When I reminded him of the sign that says«no dogs» and«no adults without children» he disregarded it. I wouldn’t go back.

This is a lovely little playground tucked away on the northwestern corner of Buena Vista Park. The playsets are a little long in the tooth, but in decent shape. The views are smashing. Buena Vista Park in general is a fabulous park, with winding paths through the big trees and zen views of the city or Golden Gate at every turn. It’s great for dogs, which are often off-leash. I let my toddler walk the paths with me, although they are a little steep in places. Also be aware that there are steps in many places and entrances; the disabled and stroller-friendly entrances are iirc on the northwest side just up Buena Vista Ave West from Haight and the southwestern corner. It is also possible to hop your stroller up one step from the park side of Buena Vista East, just south of Haight.

The only thing I would add is that because it is so isolated you might want to go with another person

Great playground for toddlers and preschoolers in a beautiful setting. While your children dig in the sand and zip down the slides, you can enjoy the expansive city views. A little bit of a workout to get to on foot, particularly when pushing a stroller, so be sure to wear your walking shoes. Also, since there is no bathroom near the playground, have your kids wear diapers or use the potty at home ahead of time. One thing worth noting is that this playground isn’t as crowded as most of the others around the city. My kids often end up playing alone when we go to Buena Vista which has it’s advantages and disadvantages. On the bright side, I get some quality time alone with my kids and I don’t have to worry about the proverbial playground bully. On the downside, the kids expect me to be their playmate and primary source of entertainment. If you are looking for other children for your child to play with, you should probably head to one of the other excellent playgrounds in the neighborhood.
