Bad food, ugly décor, over priced, rude cashier and«no button on register to remove meat or other items from orders» so you can have cheese whiz on round stale chips for $ 18. It’s the only place close so in a pinch stuck with the suck. Major suck.

First time @ Café Taboo on York Street. A small, corner quaint business with outside seating, colorful décor and good food! Though the place is small in size, the food packs a punch. Definitely will revisit this place!

Breakfast burrito is delicious. Minus one star for the unfriendly and rude woman taking my order.

What a great place to grab a quick breakfast before a long day. I will definitely be going again.

We recently enjoyed breakfast from this place. Fruit was fresh tasting. The yogurt was the right sweetness. We ordered through Unilocal which was quick and uncomplicated. All in all we recommend these items: Breakfast Croissant w/Ham, Bagel with Cream Cheese, Fresh Fruit Bowl, Breakfast Burrito w/Bacon, Lowfat Yogurt.

So not worth $ 42 for 2 items and an hour and a half wait for delivery. Quesadilla was ehhh. Rice was kinda dry. Stale chips. BF said his enchilada was decent. Salsa was pretty good… But won’t be ordering from them again.

Great mexican and American food. Smoothies are bomb. I’ve only had delivery, its free after $ 30 dollar order. Good sized portions, enough to save for later or share

Pros: — comfortable place to sit and people watch — easy place to find parking in the morning Cons: — little effort put in making the food tasty; bland and lifeless — food was disappointing looking and tasting — took 20min for food to arrive, and we were the only two customers — very pricey for what you get — small portions

I absolutely LOVE their Green Rules burrito, but after I add the tip, it comes to almost $ 15 … and even for me, that’s a bit steep for a burrito. I do love that they claim to use organic ingredients, so perhaps that’s the justification for the price. I will keep coming back, but I do get a little sticker shock each time.

I was wandering around in the Mission heat, doing my damnedest to avoid spending my money at the ginormous Starbucks around the corner… This amazing small business is just what I was looking for! Great corner location with both indoor and outdoor seating. Warm sunny spots and cool shaded seating. The staff is friendly and hospitable. The coffee shop is painted in warm beautiful colors and the music is great! My breakfast burrito is DELICIOUS! If I lived in this hood I’d be here on the daily. Definitely worth a visit!

I don’t go here much, but when I do, I always like to order their enchiladas. Soooo good! It’s also a great place to come on a business meeting and talk about work.

I’ll start with cons first, because there really only is one: Too expensive for the quality. Not that the quality is bad, but paying $ 11 for a burrito seems like a ripoff considering the Mission has no dearth of delicious burritos. They do online ordering, are super friendly, and are open late. The people who work there are nice.

Favorite burrito in the city! As such, a little on the pricey side for a burrito($ 12) but the portion sizes are generous(enough for 2 meals for me, tiny female), the chicken and veggies are roasted and moist, and the outer tortilla is perfectly crispy. Worth every penny.

We ordered our staff lunch from here and it was pretty good. I don’t know why they get all the negative reviews. I had the chicksadilla. It was a chicken quesadilla and it was too big of a portion for me. It came with chips and spicy salsa. The salsa was SO delicious. We will order from them again when we are craving mexican food.

I got delivery here and it was so good! although they have a high delivery minimum of 30 $ with a 5 $ fee, the food was amazing and worth it if you are splitting with someone. I built my own salad and it was so good and fresh with nice dark greens. the sweet potato fries are great too! I’ve been trying to find a good delivery salad spot because I’m very picky and I think I finally have found the one! good coffee too.

Unilocalers led me astray on this one-which nearly never happens. I stopped in for an Americano and an oatmeal with fruit and flax. Fast service, but the lady gave me everything to go when I asked to eat in. The Americano was decent, but the oatmeal was watery, clearly just came out of the microwave. There was plain flaxmeal sprinkled on top(ew-should have been flaxseed cooked with the oatmeal!), and everything was watery. The fruit was just half of a green apple(which is neither mixed fruit nor the appropriate fruit pairing for oatmeal). I took my accidentally to-go breakfast and hit the road for better venues.

My first experience at Taboo wasn’t so great. Ordered fish burger to go for lunch. And it took them over 20 mins to make it… So I ran back to my office, only to find out that they gave me a VEGGIEBURGER. Ugh I paid extra for fish burger, but I didn’t have time to run back to the restaurant for a refund or new order. I mean how could you confuse fish and veggie? And you clearly charged me for fish. So frustrating. And the best part? This exact same thing happened to my coworker just a few days before me, except she ordered a real, beef burger. She came back to work and found out she got a veggie patty instead… They must have overstock of veggie patties that they want to get rid of or something? You might wanna have more cooks during lunch time, as it was getting pretty crowded, and having 2 cooks isn’t enough, clearly. You know, since fish and beef are veggie…

I’d never been to SF before and I decided to walk(omg WALK!) around the city. At first I passed Café Taboo in the hopes of finding something a little more«dineresque» but after half an hour my tum tum demanded compensation. I sat down(now writing this) in the straightforward square that is their dining area and ordered the #1 rated sandwich, the Big Roti. And then I saw it, a mighty Turkey on a rotisserie behind the young lady taking my order, spinning with a devil may care disposition. I’m happy to say the sandwich was ‘solid, both in proportions and overall taste. Accompanied by coffee, which I’m beginning to suspect is just preternaturally better in this city as a whole(LA needs to step up it’s game) this made for a solid eatery in a nice part of town… Parking is a disaster however and the Mexican music get’s a little under the skin after an hour and a half.

I honestly have no idea how this place is so well reviewed. We came here awhile back and it was mediocre. We decided to give it another chance because of all the positive feedback — never again! We specifically asked for a rare burger — it was well over well done and COLD! The nachos are a joke — they came with those cheap round chips which were so stale I could hardly eat them. Of course that wasn’t too bad because most of them were completely soggy by the time I got them anyway. The salad was wilted, bland and had basically nothing on it. Take some advice and avoid this place. We live a few blocks away, there are easily a dozen better places you can go to get more bang for your buck. We will never be coming back here or be giving them another chance. We learned our lesson.
