Made a huge error by going to Centro during lunch hour [1:30] The noise level was excruciating… and the rooms were packed. Nevertheless, the food was delicious and, while we were anxious to escape, we will return at a less hectic time.

Awesome staff, good food and great vibe. Their green juices are pretty good and the puddings are delicious

Found them as a Unilocal suggestion as I was walking around SF. Great location — ate outside in a shaded park. I got the peanut butter cookie with my Free Treat Check In and ordered the Spinach Salad, which was super simple but seriously delicious(spinach, oranges, goat cheese, pine nuts and orange vinaigrette). Definitely recommend the salad, and I’ll be back to try some more of their goodies from the pastry case.

When I came here, I really wanted to like this place because the food looks beautifully prepared. I would give them three stars for the food though, as it was kind of bland, and they get the extra star for really good customer service! I ordered a hazelnut latte, got the free sweet treat, which incidentally is not just any sweets but rather one of their cookies. And I also ordered a Cobb salad and a water. The chicken on the cob salad had zero flavor but the bacon was great. The Cobb salad comes with a balsamic dressing that is pretty uninspired, mostly just kind of vinegary, no layers of flavor or anything special at all. I asked to try the other dressings that they had, seeing only a citrus orange(had almost no flavor) and Caesar dressing on the menu. The person who helped me brought me out an extra dressing that was Lemon flavored and it was delicious! It truly saved the meal from being just blah. Thanks for the lemon dressing! Cookie was okay, I got peanut butter, it was a little moist and chewy and also a little dry and crumbly. Latte was pretty ordinary but nicely made and due to the hazelnut, a little sweeter like I prefer. My water had black grit swirling in the bottom of the glass which I didn’t notice til the end of my meal so that wasn’t great but not a huge deal. If I lived closer, I would probably go back to try other things on the menu because the portions were generous and the quality of the ingredients seems high. After I was done eating, the person who gave me the dressing asked me which I liked more and I appreciated that he remembered and cared and it gave me a chance to thank him for including something I didn’t ask for but which actually saved my meal! Given how nicely these dishes were made and the fact that the menu is half salads: if this was my restaurant I’d probably try to offer some additional dressings that really highlight the efforts being applied in the kitchen and make the food sparkle with brighter flavors and layers of taste for the patrons like me who are looking for something more zippy.

A charming, cozy café/restaurant. I went here for dinner with a friend. We got a tasty black bean salad(although I thought it was overdressed it was still yummy) and the hummus avocado sandwich w tomato and sprouts. The man(owner?) who rang up our order was super friendly and kind. We ordered a slice of pie and he HOOKED it up with HELLLA whipped cream, it was so sweet(literally and figuratively). If you want a friendly, sunny, tasty experience check this spot out. p. s. the prices were decent, for San Francisco anyway. Good music playing, dub/reggae when we went

Chill vibes, T Swift on the sound system, good food. Got the egg salad. Fresh, tasty. Complimented well by the expertly-made cappuccino… Not too hot, not too cold. Warning, though: no wifis. But do you really need it? Sit outside, read that book you’ve been putting off, and watch the park across the street.

Oh man. This place is amazing. I work down the street, so this place is my go to for lunch whenever I don’t bring lunch to work. Cute little coffee shop that has salads and sandwiches. Their portions are big, which is great! Prices aren’t horrible, and the staff is friendly! The only issue is the line sometimes jumbles up and can get confusing. They have an amazing BLT and cobb salad. I have yet to grab a coffee here, but I’ve heard their coffees/lattes are amazing as well. Would definitely recommend this place to anyone who wants a lunch on the lighter side. 5 stars!

I love this place for lunch. I’ve had most of the menu items, but probably order the Cobb Salad more than anything else. nice baked goods too. there was some kind of check in special, either foursquare or Unilocal that gave a free cookie with the lunch order which was nice. there are a few seats inside and outside, but you can sit in the park across the street which is nice too.

Came here for a coffee, the lines aren’t so bad and the cappuccino was well done. Nice spot on the park, which is great on a nice day. I’d come back for coffee.

Cute little coffee shop with outdoor seatings, also right across from the South Park with plenty of sit down options and perfect for a coffee break. People in my office loved this place so much, they grabbed food(salads looked good) and coffee here a few times a week. Their chai latte(hot) became my favorite, foamy and smooth. They also have been doing check-in offers for a cookie, tried the chocolate and chip and peanut butter ones — both very good!

The Cobb salad is skimpy on the chicken, but generous with an extra side of caterpillar for protein. Got to the bottom of my lunch and low behold a moving caterpillar. How many more of these did I eat??? Lesson learned — inspect your greens.

This place is located in the park area, there’s small chance you’ll find street parking — meters so don’t forget to bring those shiny coins along. Very close to second street and the Giants stadium. I came here to get lunch and coffee. I brought my laptop along only to find out they didn’t have wifi. It is, however a great place for meetings and a quick bite. They pack food to go also, which is a plus. As far as coffee is concerned; be sure to know what you are getting — I ordered a latte like you would at any coffee shop and they handed me an espresso to add milk from the bar, which was cold and made my coffee cold. They did charge me the usual $ 3-$ 4 for a coffee even though they didn’t warm up my milk. Another heads up: I was waiting in line and a customer(an old guy) walks past me up to the line and orders coffee and lunch even though I was waiting in line. The barista rushes his order and the cashier runs his order before mine and he didn’t even bother waiting in line. He was in and out in less than a minute. The cashier did not even apologize for this incident. Not fair for those standing in line. Just be prepared if a regular walks and their order is prioritized before yours. The staff seems to be nicer to regulars. This place also gets a bit crowded during lunch hour but their sandwiches especially caprese is spot on. I would give this place four stars but the price, service and what you get for isn’t well deserved. The sandwich however, did earn a star of its own so if you are grabbing a bite to go around second street — this is the place to stop by.

The ceaser I had here was a bit wilty, brown. Dressing has no anchovies nor will they provide any. You can get a great ceaser that’s fresh from corner market called small. Not sure if I will return

Cute little café and now my goto spot when I’m too lazy to brew a cup of coffee on my own. It’s in a nice location by the park but a little hard to find since it’s away from the main streets. I love the décor and the openness of the café, they have beautiful large windows that just pours in light and the view of the park. Aside from that, they brew good coffee and that’s all I need. On top of that though they have sandwiches, salads, pastries, and fresh green juice. Everything looks fresh, delicious, and healthy. The prices here are reasonable so it’s a great option to grab a bite/drink. You can also dine inside or outside, but there isn’t a lot of seating options.

Update: The previous side wall is now bare, with the menu moved to behind the order station/register. This is a sandwich shop that also serves a variety of healthy fare. They have good sandwich combinations and everything looks good — not unhealthy — and the portions are just big enough, not overwhelming. The place is like a house converted and looks like a bistro. Their paint scheme(yellow and bright) makes it cozy and inviting. The outdoor seating is nice. Nearby workers are the main customers as the place is away from the main streets, but it isn’t entirely hidden. If you’re at South Park you will see it — it’s worth a visit.

Really a great spot for a sandwich for lunch for the SOMA worker. I’ll start with why this is 4 stars and not 5. Simply put, price. I love this place, is my goto for a quick sandwich, but I have not been too impressed about the salads and dining in for the price. Do you like a nice tuna or BLT? Then come here, but check around for a salad. Top tip, half sandwiches are still nice a big and reasonable in cost.

I’ve passed this so many times on my way to HRD but since their closed i decided to grab a light sandwich. I ordered a full Tuna sandwich $ 8, full is basically 2 pieces of bread. I sat down and 2 minutes later they gave me my sandwich, stuffed with lettuce. The tuna had zero flavor, a very light mayo as others have mentioned but mostly no taste. It tasted something like you would get at Starbucks or Barnes and Nobles. If you check in you get 1 free sweet, i got a chocolate chip cookie which was freshly made and tasted really good.

Humbled by a sandwich. I have grown quite fond of this cozy café tucked in the heart of South Park, particularly their ready-to-go sandwiches behind the front display. The simplicity of salty salami and creamy cheese sandwiched between a chewy baguette is a comforting reminder that less is more. They usually have 3 kinds of sandwiches wrapped and ready to go behind the glass display and are happy to heat it up upon request. Their ham and swiss sandwich is also very good. If you check in on Unilocal, you get a sweet treat! I got a mean-ass chocolate chip cookie. Speedy service. Abundant menu. Great customer service.
