No Stars! Horrible Service!
Dropped my pregnant wife off at this place at 4:10 pm after she made a 5 pm appt. on a Friday.
I went home to Hayward with the kids right after to beat traffic and received a call from my wife at 5:30 saying they won’t take her because they’re too busy!!!
My wife said she would patiently wait since she already waited over an hour and her ride left and they said NO because they close at 6 pm.
They’re Unilocal clearly states they close at 7 pm and they refused to do her hair still after she explained she’d wait and she couldn’t come back the next day!
She was told their «regular» customers come FIRST!
My mother and cousins will no longer come here, they lost our family business!

Recently moved to San Francisco from the east coast. I have really curly hair so i can’t just walk in to any hair salon. It was $ 30 for a wash and blow dry and it only took the guy an hour. Normally takes 2 hours back home! Highly recommend!

Bad service! I called this morning spoke with a guy to schedule an appt for 3:30pm and I over heard him inform the stylist that he was scheduling me. So far so good I leave work and arrive for my appt and when I get there she acted surprised to hear that I was there for a scheduled appt. She said well I l didn’t know about ur appt but I guess I can’t cut you after I’m done. I just left. Very unprofessional never coming back!

Ricardo is easily the best stylist I’ve ever had. He deals with my hair quickly and very consistently and he’s friendly as well.
Three of my coworkers have started coming here because they were new to the city (and/​or the Mission). It’s an easy referral to make. I used to hate haircuts back in the day but I enjoy them now. Price is totally fair for the quality — men’s cuts are $ 20 before tip.

This review goes for my hair stylist Claudia, she recently started working to this salon. She is to work in another salon and I been going to her about a year and she is amazing. This time I got my hair colored, but she has done the most amazing highlights i ever had, I had received many compliments about my hair since Claudia started working on me. I always said that Claudia does wonders with her hands. I drive from Palo alto to San Francisco just so I always schedule an appointment so I don’t have to wait, but she takes walk in too.

Walked in at 4pm on a Monday with no reservation, and Ricardo took care of me right away. In and out in 20 minutes with one of the best haircuts I’ve ever gotten. I think I’m going to become a regular.

This place always treats me and my mom the WORST! Telling us an hour wait. When all the hair dressers say 30 minutes to other walk ins. Spending like 40 minutes on a QBALL trimming and trimming away at NOTHING. All they want to do is conversation with other MEN. But as soon as women walk in they do not pay attention. The only hair dresser I like here is female and apparently she is not here the one day I come in. They even offer men the cold sodas and waters and let me pick from the warm basket.

i admit that my idea of a good hair salon might be different than most girls but this place is exactly what i want when i get my hair cut

In the Mission just a block away from good eats!
2 blocks from BART. If your driving make sure to bring coins. Parking is easy just show up a tad bit early. They are popular It’s pretty crowded on the weekends. I usually get my cuts on Mondays or Tuesdays. Call ahead and make appointment with your favorite stylists. Mine is Ricardo. He knows what i want and my hair is perfect every time.

For the past year and a half I’ve been going to F.S.C. Barber and have not always been satisfied with the results. I decided to try Carisma and I was pleasantly surprised. The price is right ($ 17), no appointment necessary, and the cut was as good if not better than what I’ve gotten at F.S.C. I will definitely be back.

No wait, sat right away, had a great haircut and at the very decent price of $ 15. Left a hefty tip and felt great. Absolutely comfy experience.
Also, just that you know, if you’re hungry while you get a haircut, a guy with a shopping cart loaded with every kind of nuts and fried chips may come in to sell snacks. I wasn’t hungry.

Some of you may remember the disastrous haircut experience I had a few months ago
Carisma is the place where I got the damage fixed.
The stylists are friendly and not too full of themselves. They do a good job; I always get compliments after I get my hair cut there. They accept «walk ins»; I’ve never had to wait more than 15 minutes. They only charge $ 15 for a men’s haircut so I can give them a $ 20 and feel like a big shot.
Honestly they are under charging for the service they provide but they are a little more expensive than the typical Mission hole in the wall place. I assume their pricing is to fill a niche between the ghetto places and the fancy places. Whatever the reason for the bargain price I’m certainly not complaining about it.

Ricardo (or Ricky…) does my hair. He’s extremely professional! and knows what hes doing!
They dont take appointments but do squeeze you in. I’ve never had a problem but maybe because i got early afternoons.
Their waiting area kind of sucks. Its really uncomfortable to have to sit when you have no back support.
The other stylist whos name i can’t remember but he works at the station farthest from the door, his clients always leave looking great as well. and for the men, if you feel funny about getting your haircut by another man, they do have 2 ladies that do hair.
Its not super fancy but you get in, out and looking fab!
Cant complain!
