Chase Bank

I’ve only gone to the ATM here and it’s located on the corner of the street so parking isn’t that great. But if you need to make a quick stop just to run an errand around the neighborhood, this would be a good location to do so.

Refused to sell me a roll of quarters for laundry, because I don’t have an account with them. This is the closest bank to my house, and they have always given me change in the past. She told me it was a new policy and they aren’t allowed to give change or do anything without an account number and ID. And of course, asked if I’d like to open one. I called their 800# and the woman confirmed that was a new rule and they cannot help me anymore.
When I went to Bank of America, where I do have an account, they just gave me change without asking anything. I think it’s a terrible policy to not help your neighbors, whether they have an account or not. They only want to make money off people. And obviously they can’t do that if you don’t open an account.

I’ve banked with Chase for over10 years. The service had always been first rate and very personal. However Chase has recently let most of it’s tellers go and now has a receptionist assigned to encourage customers to use the cash machines that have replaced its tellers.
I’ve tried several other Chase branches and the service is equally poor… no tellers, lots of machines, and, a receptionist trying to get you to use those machine.
I used to have 5 accounts with Chase. I’ve recently closed 2 of them and hope to have the other 3 closed by the end of the month.
I’ve had it with Chase… Where is Mr. Robot when we need him?

What is going on with Chase Bank? There is a representative paid to stand at the counter to ask if you’d like to be taken to the ATM to make your deposit. Actually, instead of waiting in line at the ATM outside or waiting behind 3 customers inside, I’d like to have the representative make better use of her time and be a teller… and help customers with their banking transactions. Also, please provide deposit slips at the counter!

With the ease of online banking, it is extremely rare for me to go to a physical branch. Today I came to make a cash deposit, get change and grab a few rolls of quarters. As I was filling out the deposit slip, a female approached me «Are you making a deposit?» When I said yes, she told me they are asking customers wishing to make a deposit use the ATM. There was no line (one of the reasons I go to this branch). I could understand the request if they were busy.
If I want to use the teller and interact with a human, I should be able to go to the window rather than get booted out onto the street with a large stack of cash. Plus, given this is not my primary bank, I am not in the habit of carrying my Chase ATM card. This is extremely poor customer service and definitely does not make me feel valued.
Chase, If you don’t want my money and value me as a customer, no problem there are plenty of other banks eager to have my business.

Probably the smallest Chase branch I’ve been to. Don’t let the size fool you. Mgr. Winnie Ng, PC banker Annie Ha, another Annie & Ethan Cheung are all helpful with my transaction needs. Parking is always a challenge on Clement St. The street entrance can seem crowded b/​c its next to the popular Burma Superstar Restaurant. There is seldom a line & if so its usually not a long wait. I can see how there could be some negative reviews about this branch. I remember encountering some of the other tellers & some simple pleasant manners can be worked on. Customers know when its fake. I recall encountering a teller doing simple addition on my deposit with maybe 2 – 3 checks & it was like seeing someone doing Euclidean Geometry.
Simple addition should be one of the job requirements during the interview.

This branch sucks. I pay my car loan with chase and send a cashier check into my exes account through chase bank. Every branch I’ve been into waves the fee (it used to be free about a year ago) for the check and depositing it into my exes account. This branch wouldn’t even entertain the idea. The other branches said it is within the grace period since they changed their policy. This branch has Liliana Chelaru as a teller, she was very pert and unfriendly. It is amazing that this company after lobbying our government into getting free money, still rips off people and gets away with it. I am a construction worker and this lady gave me sub par service. There are so many reasons I have experienced that make this bank as a whole suck utterly. I used to have several accounts at chase. They ripped me off so many times. I sat with bankers for hours having them fix their accounting errors only to get a bill next time and not have it be fixed (twice I sat with bankers for over an hour). That’s why I closed my accounts, sucked it up and paid their fraudulent charges that were hitting my credit score. When I went into this branch, they still had my address from over 6 years ago that I’ve changed almost every time I go into the branch, I’m in one almost every month to pay my child support. They still have the wrong address on my car loan, yet my bill comes to my current address. These guys don’t care about people. They only care how much they can charge you and rip you off. I can’t wait till I never have to go into chase again. I hope when this corrupt system falls, that all the chase bankers and hedge fund managers get either composted for gardens or made into animal feed.

Used to have account here some years past, automatically transferred from now former Washington Mutual. Brian was especially nice, and service was acceptable though sometimes queues can be timely.
Reason I closed and severed my dealings with JP Morgan Chase in general was there primary involvement in housing foreclosures at that time. Sorry but I could not share in their bad karma of hurting their customers (as indeed Chase was not only major bank to do this, they were one of worst).
So in protest and conscience, I closed my Chase account and don’t plan on re-​opening any time soon. This ‘too big to fail’ nonsense has got to go! Just another pseudo-​fascist major American corporation out to protect plutocratic, and screw middle class and poor!

Chase here was an afterthought. didn’t seek them out. no parking lot. just happened to walk by with cc deposit slip in wallet.

I went to pay my Home Equity Line with the print out statement, but the bank teller insisted that she couldn’t find the account info. I’ve never met a teller who cannot find my account info. After more than 10 min. of frustration, she finally found the account info.
Managers, please train your tellers properly. I will never go to this branch again.

I came in hoping to do a refinance with the mortgage officer here. I believe his name was Tony. I understand there are qualifications for refinancing, but it really felt like he didn’t even want to help me and my family.
AND THIS IS WHY:
While we were talking to him, he said, and I quote in Chinese, «You know, I can’t really think on an empty stomach. It’s past my lunch time and I have a friend waiting for me for lunch. I’m going to have to call you guys back.»
Basically telling us to GTFO. He never called us.
This was around July 2012. I’ve refinanced with another Mortgage Officer ever since, whom was very friendly and WILLING to help me.

Was PRE-​Approved for an investment loan, found & entered contract for property purchase & was ‘disqualifed’ under thier loan process. For real? Full time work & we both have a credit score that averaged 800!!! For real!!! Ended up using a different loan broker & ended up with an interest rate 1%lower than Chase locked us in to!!! Maybe their incompetance helped us instead!!! Chase could have had our business for both loans but they are so stupid & incompetent!!! NEVER AGAIN!!!

Similar to other Chase I’ve been to, the staff are friendly and helpful. Normally, there is no line depending on what time you come in. If in certain circumstances there is a line or two, there is usually a teller at every window so the line does move relatively faster like this. From my experiences as a customer at Chase, I don’t ever recall receiving bad service when I’m here taking care of my transactions.
I’ve been to this bank several times, the other tellers and bankers are very nice. They are the folks who help customers process their transactions in a lightning speed. Whenever I’m here depositing cash and checks or to get any transactions taken care of, the friendly staff are the ones to help me take care of my transactions so I am basically in and out less than 10 minutes! Other than that, the rest of the staff bankers and tellers are nice, friendly, helpful and attentive so this is one of the good things about coming here. My local Chase branch when I am in the Inner Richmond area!

I find that older lady (manager Winnie) intrusive. She asked too many personal questions when we only went to teller to deposit a check a few weeks ago. Surely if I were to apply for a loan or open a savings account, those q’s might be appropriate. For her to make little remarks like — that is a big check, do you invest with them, what are you doing with all your money. Those are INAPPROPRIATE questions. Of course her goal was to try to push people into opening an account. 0 Star for her.
However, all the other staff members there are really nice and fast.

I used to come here regularly when it used to be WaMu. it is nice to see a many of the staff stayed the same.
This review is actually for their Chase Sapphire card.
I am a stress case as of recently, and yesterday morning I got an «urgent» email about my credit card account. I was skeptical, so i didnt call the # on the email, but called the # on my card.
Someone tried to charge $ 3k worth of dyson products under my card… What the friiiiiick? The transactions were only a few hours before the email, and the charges were declined… Thank goodness!
I had used the card on the virginamerica website a few hours earlier… And only use it on amazon… Where the heck did these clowns get my card info?
I am sure many of you have gone through this as well… So frustrating!
But it is good to know this was caught before it appeared on my statement.
Thank you, chase. One less thing for me to deal with.

The service at this bank is very poor. I would not recommend this branch. They do not return calls. They also try to push products to customers who don’t know what they are doing. Even then they don’t get all the proper paperwork done in one visit. All my experiences especially with the financial rep, Brian and the manager in the last month with them have been less than satisfactory. They all need better training or should be fired. They cannot basic questions about account status and transactions.
Hopefully Chase sees how poor the service is here and does something about it.

Friendly and fast during noon. Not much action going on during that time and it’s the only time I’ve went. Décor is very clean looking and everyone was pretty nice. I avoid rush hour times as much as possible, so you won’t be getting a review from me about then.
Tip: I used to live by the one on 19^th and Noriega. This [Clement] one is a lot less busy.

This Washington Mutual is now Chase, well, they all are. It’s close to my work, the people are nice, and they seem to want to keep the line moving. Even though they’re busy because it’s payday or for whatever reason, I never have to wait very long.
The ATM machines are much better now that they switched to Chase. The buttons used to make this beeping sound loud enough to let every one on the block to know I was withdrawing money. «Hey everyone, if you count how many beeps per transaction you can figure out how much money I’m taking out!!!»
I never needed to talk to the tellers; I’ve never had a problem that I couldn’t figure out via internet or ATM machine.

Meh!!! I was trying to open an account here with my mom and the woman was so unhelpful. She was giving me useless information and was basically telling me that I couldn’t open an account.
Well, fine. Whatever. I’ll take my money elsewhere. The tellers, however, are very nice and efficient.

I came in one day asking about their promotion with their checking account.
Here goes my day:
Me: «Hi, I have a question about this checking account and was wondering if the 5 payments were for every month»
Teller: «Yes (blabs for about 5 minutes about the card even though I had the flyer right in front of me with all the information).»
Ever seen the youtube video of «can I get your numba?»
It’s kind of like this but in a bank… Sadly
Teller: «Would you like to open an account now?»
–I swore I heard this about 5 times.
*The only reason I opened one was because my meter was running.
Then I was transferred to a banker and did a series of more explanation and sales pitching. After 15 minutes of openign the account and all the junk that comes with it… She switches me to another banker to finish. Of course the new banker has no clue of what is happening…
More explaining again…

I think I spent WAY over time at this branch than any other bank.
If it weren’t for your $ 100 promotion I would be out.
Truthfully what bank makes you do 5 minumum payments from your checking account every month or they charge you.
Learn from CitiBank or Bank of America please!
