I like this place. When I am walking to work it’s a quick stop to get a great cup of coffee and breakfast to go. The breakfast burrito with pork is really good and my goto $ 8 bucks. No lines. In my book this place is solid.

Had their small iced mocha at 8:30am and I nearly threw up 2 hours later because their coffee made me feel awful. Haven’t been able to rally the entire day. If you want to go home sick, go to Chatz. Unfortunately it just so happens to be a Friday today.

Lots of options for morning snacks and smoothies in addition to the standard bagels and coffee, which are both good. Service is always quick and friendly.

Breakfast and burritos — two great tastes that go great together. Fresh eggs, bacon, potatoes, melted cheese, and salsa all mushed together in delicious harmony in a hot tortilla wrap? How can you go wrong, right? Unfortunately, I discovered today that not all breakfast burritos are created equal. Chatz Roasting Company is a charming hole in the wall spot on 2nd St. @ Mission. And when I say«hole in the wall,» I ain’t exaggerating. This place is literally the size of a photo booth. I was amazed that two employees could squeeze in there. In any case, I digress. Chatz offers 3 or 4 varieties of breakfast burritos. One with bacon, a vegetarian option, and one with chilies. I wound up ordering the eggs & bacon burrito from the friendly lady behind the counter. Within 3 minutes, I was handed a piping hot burrito wrapped in tin foil with a side of salsa. While walking back to the office, I decided to dive in to my meal. Unfortunately, the burrito didn’t really taste like anything. All the ingredients more or less tasted the same. And it wasn’t until my 3rd or 4th bite that I realized that my bacon wasn’t even fully cooked. I tried my best to salvage the burrito with a heavy dose of salsa. But it wasn’t even real salsa. It was like the watery Pace Picante stuff you buy at Safeway. After a few more bites, I finally gave up on my meal. By this point, I was already back in the office. So it was too late to go back and complain and/or request a replacement. At the end of the day, wasting $ 5 on a mediocre breakfast burrito isn’t the end of the world. Maybe these guys were just having an off day. Maybe their breakfast burritos are usually da bomb. What ever the case, it’s going to be a while before I come back for some morning grub.

In love with this place. I get a decaf coffee in the early afternoon almost every day. They are so nice and there’s none of that pour over $ 5 coffee BS!

really nice little coffee shop kiosk in SoMa. they have quite a selection of breakfast items too, bagel sandwiches, breakfast burritos and pastries, which belie the small size. staff is super friendly and efficient. my go-to coffee stop in the morning on the way to work.

I live for their bacon, egg, and cheese sandwiches on asiago bagels. Legit. They make everything pretty quickly, but if there’s a line maybe just skip that day. Got to be quick when you see no line and order and grab it and go. The owners of this little stand are always super nice — support them!

I like to switch it up with Chatz once in a while when I go get coffee in the morning. I usually like good coffee places especially those that give me a discounted price for my coffee for bringing in my own cup. Chatz fills both criteria as they gave me my large coffee for the size of a medium. That’s more than the 10 cents I usually save at Starbucks… sorry Starbucks maybe you could try doing the same thing. I haven’t gotten food from them before but they are already worth a spot in my coffee rotation due to their quick service and convenient location.

I work down the block from Chatz and never stopped by until today. The coffee is deliciously strong! I ordered a mocha and it’s not too sweet, just how I like it. For a small place, they have a good variety of drinks and food on their menu from espresso to mexican hot chocolate to smoothies to bagels to breakfast burritos! I’ll definitely be coming here more often.

Coffee is great and the people who work there are just so happy and friendly, it’s a pleasure to see them each morning! The bagels are good, too, and that’s saying something, coming from a former New Yorker. :)

My favorite coffee shop in San Francisco. Love their mochas, love their breakfast burritos. Great customer service, been coming here for nearly 10 years. Every time I’m in portrero hill, I’m sure to stop by.

They carry the basic breakfast items and snacks, but stand out from similar cafes with a menu of good smoothies. I always come here for one whenever done at the nearby 24 Hour Fitness. Prices are reasonable for SOMA. A convenient stop along Second Street for workers and visitors staying at the nearby Marriott Courtyard, and there’s always a short wait during mornings. It is the size of a kiosk and is strictly for to-go, and is located in the middle of the street block.

THEGOOD –Excellent Mexican Hot Chocolate THEBAD — Well, their coffee. There was something rather strange about it. Kind of bitter with a slight taste on windex or something. My co-worker said the same thing a couple weeks before. I didn’t believe him. He was right. I’ll probably go back and order a Mexican hot chocolate and get some generic coffee from starbucks or something to add it to make a Mexican mocha.

Worse lox bagel ever. It made me want to throw up. There’s practically no lox in it! Ugh. Waste of $ 10. The mexican hot chocolate is whatever.

I love this place! I work a block away and stop here in the morning when I’m out of coffee or breakfast at home. I’ve never acquired the taste for«good» coffee(BlueBottle, FourBarrel, etc.) so the coffee here is fine with me. The people who work there are really sweet, and they now take credit cards! But I’m really here to write about the breakfast bagel. Super simple: egg, cheese and meat for an additional $ 1, but somehow it’s better than anywhere else in the area. I think it’s because they actually salt and pepper their eggs. Anyway, it really hits the spot!

I spend a lot of time walking through SOMA before anything is open. Chatz is my AM lifesaver! They have $ 5 breakfast burritos that are great! Might be the cheapest breakfast in SF! They aren’t massive but they are filling! The Green Chili with potato and black beans was tasty! Coffee is good(and I’m a Portland Coffee Snob)! Service was fast, and they are open early and they are friendly. What more can you want from you AM coffee to go counter!

I work close to this location and was happy to support a local coffee company and not one of the big coffee players. I have a rule that I don’t drink coffee outside of my home. I rarely need it and don’t need to spend the extra $ on it. Once every few months I NEED a double espresso over ice in the middle of the day. I ordered my double-espresso over ice from Chatz several times. $ 2.50, perfect. Same price as Starbucks. THEN, one day the gentleman behind the counter decides to charge me $ 3.00 for my beverage even though the menu states $ 2.50. «The extra .50 for the ice and the cup.» I guess if I had ordered a regular hot double-espresso, he would have served it to me directly from the machine without a cup? If that’s not the case, then he charged me .50 for a few ice cubes. That was just wrong. No mention of such a charge on the menu. Mr. Chatz server, please watch this video. «Just given ‘em the pickle»

I visited a client in the area so before my appointment, I decided to grab some breakfast so that my stomach wouldn’t growl during my visit. I ordered a bacon burrito and a can of guava juice. The burrito was yum! — the flavors were melded together so tastily, and they give you salsa in a small container. Awesome! I poured a little bit of salsa per bite, and it was a great combination — yum! I also like the guava juice. Service was friendly and smiley — that always makes mornings so nice. Thank you — it was the best breakfast burrito I’ve had! :)

If you like burnt coffee, this is the place for you! Ordered my usual latte — $ 4.00 for 3 shots The milk was watery, the coffee to milk ratio was way off & the coffee itself was burnt & shudder-inducing upon each sip Trying to doctor up this cuppa back at the office w/full-on heavy cream couldn’t even save this baby But being the caffeine addict I am, couldn’t throw it out & since I was stuck in an all-morning meeting… choked it down Shuddering all the way One & done!
