Went again last Saturday night and they just keep getting better and funnier.

Very funny. Smart, daring, and gross. Could you ask for more in your improv? I don’t think so.

Went to this show on a trip to visit family. Dawn is HILARIOUS and the comedy is great and REAL. Fun and lighthearted, you can tell they are having as much fun as the audience. Definitely recommend this group!

I have almost peed in my pants at Chicken Scratch and I’ve gone three times. Last night was an amazing show. Josh, Jodi, Caleb, Shawn, Lee and Jay are people who work just like you and me. They are those people you meet in the office and go «why the hell aren’t they in stand-up?» Well, that’s what they do. And they have their act together and take it seriously(extreme iron in that sentence.) If you’re feeling good, you’ll feel even better. If you’re having a tough go, you’ll go in to this show and forget all of your troubles. They’ve got a little beer and wine at intermission and it’s a nice venue. GO! What are you waiting for???”

This is such a great LOCAL improv theatre group. Very campy. If you live in the city, you shouldn’t miss it! The jokes are reflective of our life in this crazy place, and they will make you glad you live here. The sing and perform skits as well as get the audience involved all the time. You will roll out of your chair. The next run of shows comes in October 2009. GO see one of the shows!

I had a lot of friends in college who did improv and I went to almost every one of their shows. When I moved back to SF I was desperate for some good improv. I went to BATS twice, which was good, but having been to two Chicken Scratch shows now, I can honestly say that Chicken Scratch is better. There are eight(or so) in the group and they have an extensive repertoire of games to play and really take every audience suggestion and run with them. They generally end their shows with a rapping game that involves rhyming with a single-syllable name. I particularly like when they make rhymes like, «There once was this guy named Mark/He liked working with FARC.» They generally play on the first Thursday of the month, but they’ve been having trouble with venues, so it’s best to check their website for further information.

Need a good laugh? Feeling guilty that you didn’t make it to the gym? Laughing burns off calories, you know? I have seen Chicken Scratch, an improv troupe, perform at a few different locations in the city. Every show is unique(hence: improv) and these guys and gals are very creative and so entertaining. They know how to keep everyone in the audience hysterically laughing for almost the entire duration of their show. It’s also really fun and cool because they always ask for suggestions from the audience– you know– shout out what [who/a letter/a name/a job] we should do next kind of thing. At the Off-Market location you can have a beer or wine @ 2 for $ 5. Granted it’s not fancy wine, but hey, it’s cheap and decent! Check their website for upcoming shows!
