Chino

Chino is a new Chinese food concept from the team behind Tacolicious. The just recently opened a new tent at the Ferry Building Farmers’ Market on Saturdays for what looks like a trial run before they open their restaurant in the Mission coming this spring. I stopped by out of curiosity and also because when I saw a customer walk away with a plate of their dumplings, I had an instant craving for them.
Though the prices may seem a little much, the portions are pretty generous. During my visit, I only tried their Dumplings a la Plancha and they give you a nice portion size for $ 7. They were actually pretty good and went well with their house made chili sauce. The wings look pretty good also as well as their slaw. Their Wonton Soup does seem a little pricey at $ 10, but I’ve seen folks seem to enjoy it so I may come back to try it. I probably try the rest of their menu items in the near future.
I wish the Tacolicious team much success with this new venture. They’re off to a pretty good start and I hope they do good when they open up their brick and mortar restaurant in the Mission where Andalu used to be.
