Where to begin! At first I was happy to find this place because I’m not always in the mood(read: sober enough) to cross the two-way traffic on 6th street to get to Fred’s. This store is much closer to my house and since 7th street is one-way and much less busy, this place was a god-send on the first hungover Sunday when I truly did not feel like playing the human version of Frogger that crossing 6th street at Natoma can sometimes feel like. Initially, the outrageous markup on everything seemed tolerable. I figured they were exploiting their location adjacent to several hotels full of vacationers who are here to spend freely, and I wasn’t mad because I knew I could still walk to Fred’s if I didn’t feel like dealing with their convenience charge or a block farther to Harvest if I wanted to shop somewhere where a decent selection balanced out the overpriced goods. But then I started noticing that they aren’t always open during their posted hours. The first few times it happened I assumed a lone cashier had to use the restroom, but after the third or fourth time that I walked over there to find the«Open» sign on but the door locked, I got a little annoyed. At least put a fucking sign up so I know whether I should wait 5 minutes because you’re coming right back or say fuck it all and move on to another store because you’re done for the day. Today, though, was definitely the last straw: as I walked up to the store I saw the person working there walk out to close the door. I was about 15 feet away. I put my hand up and said«wait!» She looked at me and closed the door. When I walked up, dumbfounded, she was walking away from the door. I knocked on the window. She didn’t turn around. This was at 4:30pm on a Sunday; their posted hours were 8am-10pm. As far as shopkeeper rudeness goes, this was up there. Not a word of explanation? Literally pretending like I didn’t exist? Unreal. You are absolutely free to treat your customers however you want. And I am absolutely free to come shit on your entire business on Unilocal. If you don’t want my dollars, that’s your choice, but enjoy the one star review!

Awesome little shop with a little bit of everything from candy, snacks, sodas and Advil. Wish they stayed open a little later… Or their hours on here are not correct.
