Absolutely appalling service. Went back because the drink I ordered was not correct. Spoke to a very pleasant woman who said it would be no problem at all and she would make another drink right away. THEN, some pseudo-coffee-connoisseur, named«Arlin»(who was clearly on a serious ego trip) butt in and gave me a huge amount of ‘tude, stating something along the lines of «Well, your co-worker picked up the wrong drink, that’s not our fault. The drink is fine. I SAW her pick up the wrong drink and leave. The espresso is FINE. You don’t like it because SHE picked up the wrong drink.» with some serrrious undertones of pompousness and shade. WOAAAH! Where did you come from dude?! Also, if you saw her pick up the wrong drink, why didn’t you say anything??? Inexcusable. .After he was done with his attempt of an insult, he scurried away to the back to hide from what(I hope) he knew was an extremely rude conversation to have with a first-timer of the shop. I waited for him to come out so I could make a note of his extremely unpleasant customer service and how it ultimately reflects back on the store, yet I could see him waiting behind a wall so he did not have to deal with any confrontation. Very unfortunate. Thank god the two other ladies working there were understandable and accommodating. Nevertheless, I will never return to this coffee shop simply due to that terrible customer service floozy. p. s. But yes, after the second lady remade my drink it tasted fantastic. Really good. Almost good enough for me to come back again. However, as a person that is fully aware of how many decent coffee shops dot the financial district, service is heavily valued over how«trendy» or «cool» a place may seem. Good coffee? Absolutely? Great service? Hell. NO. Thanks, but no thanks. Maybe I’ll come again when the psuedo-intellectual is gone.

Complete professionals. Perfect coffee, every time. They know how to make a dry cappuccino and their roast is generally of the Italian style. The best coffee in the city.

Tried their vanilla latte this week. It was delicious and the vanilla was not overly sweet. It was a right amount of vanilla and espresso ratio. I will definitely tried their other latte next time.

Points for interior design. Points for sparkling water with the espresso. …but, I’m sorry, the espresso itself is just sub-par. Too hot, too thin, too bitter, not enough crema. I guess they are a fine place for your basic hot caffeinated milky drink in a cup, but they aren’t exactly competing against all of the other *really good* espressos in this city. I should have asked them about what they serve, but I had a recommendation from someone, and the ‘look’ of the place lulled me into complacency. Not worth returning to.

This location has just coffee and pastries — no food. Cute and friendly but the menu link is misleading and must be from another location.

Great shop — clean and bright. Good coffee. This is a storefront for Mr Espresso out of Oakland. Nice espresso based drinks and solid drip coffees. This is legit coffee experience for this on the move.

I spend far too much time on social media, and my trip to Coffee Bar was a manifestation of exactly that. Since it’s fall, and fall seems to bring on the influx of pumpkin-related items, I came across Coffee Bar’s photo of their pumpkin spice latte and a pumpkin scone from Tout Sweet in one of their IG photos. Once I saw the photo, the combination seemed to be seared into my memory since I woke up the next morning hardcore craving that pumpkin scone. I gave my self the excuse that I needed a longer walk to the office, so I ventured into Coffee Bar before the morning rush. In getting their South American pour over option that morning with that delectable pumpkin chocolate scone, it seemed to make for a wonderful and delicious way kick off my Friday. The coffee itself was good, and I deeply appreciate coffee shops that will do pour overs in the morning since I know how time consuming that process can be. The folks at Coffee Bar were also pleasant and welcoming — always a plus since you can never tell these days when you’ll run into a grump barista. Thanks again for the inspo Coffee Bar!

We’ve come here for our morning ‘joe’ for over a year now and never had a bad experience. The drinks stack up with the BEST in the FiDi(Mr. Espresso beans/Clover Stornetta milk). In addition to coffee, they also have a selective, yet diverse, offering of freshly pressed juices, homemade pastries, and light lunch items(including veggie). Everything is fresh and goes fast so try to get there by 9 am for a better selection. And if it’s tea that tickles your fancy, try the Heirloom Ruby(black tea) latte(not on the menu). But the best thing about this place is that the people that work here are WONDERFUL! I’ve never been to a coffee joint with a more energetic, friendly and skilled staff. The music is always on point and the no nonsense in-and-out experience is custom fitted for the weekday work crowd.

This morning I stopped by this coffee shop, the price is a little high in comparison to others good coffee shops in the area, but you have to pay for what do you get. The muffin was tasty and fresh I just took one star because the employees keeping talking each other and this make them slower.

The coffee here is great but I got their organic yogurt this morning and it was extremely sour as if the milk went bad and I had to throw it out. So much for breakfast.

Being as there are a lot of coffee places in the FiDi, eventually I happened upon the coffee bar and tried one of the menu items that stood out to me. Today it was the Vietnamese iced coffee. For $ 4.12 which is a weird amount of tax considering the drink is listed on the menu at $ 4(maybe 3% for SF health), I got a small cup of regular looking iced coffee. From my experience, Vietnamese iced coffee is usually much darker so I was guessing this wasn’t going to be as strong… And I was right. The coffee was not even as strong as a cold brew from Starbucks with milk and sugar!(and I really don’t drink Starbucks unless it’s necessary to). I might try something else next time but the first experience along with a heftier price tag(most drinks are $ 4 and up) might make it a longer time before I brave the waters again. Also they ask for your name when you order but don’t use them to call orders so I grabbed someone else’s Vietnamese iced coffee which ended up being ok because we were both nice but also because she sent out another one in fifteen seconds. Hopefully that one wasn’t meant for someone else either…

With the average drink priced $ 4+ it’s too pricy in my book to become a habit. However it’s a hip place to venture to when you want your coffee experience to transport you to somewhere exotic. Tried the Havana that was tasty and will test the Vietnamese next.

Bumping this back up to 4 stars. Maybe it’s the new baristas? But lately I have been pretty content with my iced caramel/vanilla lattes. Just be sure to ask for light sweetness! I could still add 1 more espresso shot though! You can now buy pastries here, along with breakfast items including yogurt. Small sides are available too.

Wow this place is pretty good. I work in FiDi and was looking for a quick place to grab coffee, and this place came up as one of places with the best reviews, and I definitely wasn’t disappointed. First of all, this place is pretty easy to miss if you’re not looking for it since you just wouldn’t really expect a swanky coffee bar on a block where there’s construction going on right next to it. I got a caramel latte which was super good actually. Not sure why it was so good – was it the caramel syrup or the coffee??? Whatever it was, it was super delicious. But yeah one of the best lattes I’ve had. Also got a chocolate chip cookie which was alright. It was pretty expensive though, but I guess that’s what you have to pay when you’re in the area. Baristas are pretty nice too. tldr; super good coffee! kind of expensive. i loved the caramel latte

Good coffee in FiDi that can perk you up with a line that moves at a decent pace and barristas ready to take your order to lift your droopy lids and grouchy demeanor. What percolates +‘s: + The coffee of course is good. Why else would I bother? + Prefer this location over the one on Battery only because it’s less congested. + There are great seasonal promotions such as the seasonal winter mocha from guest pastry chefs from local dining hot spots like Delfina. + It’s a coffee bar where you go in and out. Let’s keep it moving. + Great and friendly service! What drips -‘s: — Milk-sugar-coffee stir-lid station is a bit tight. — They charge tax on top of the price listed on the menu. — Wish their customary tip wasn’t in whole $ 1 options. Percentage tips would be more ideal. — The pastry bar is negligible. Wish they collaborated with Batter Bakery which has a kiosk across the street from them. For those on the go and need a good pick-me-up then I’d meander to Coffee Bar for that caffeine high and taste. I don’t drink Starbucks and will walk an extra two blocks to get the right adrenaline kick.

You can’t go wrong with ordering havana latte! It’s good either iced of hot. I get mine with soy and it’s delicious! The Vietnamese iced coffee is good too! It’s not as strong as the normal Vietnamese coffee but it’s still strong!

My previous review still stands, but I just wanted to write an update that they’ve changed the structure a bit. You can now also walk in from the sidewalk since it’s a giant floor-to-ceiling opening when they’re open for business. There’s a step down as you’re walking in, so watch your step! If you’re coming in from the St. Mary Square garage, there’s also a side door by the garage entrance/exit.
