Look for the green building. Bulletproof Coffee goes by the name of «Sherpa» here. I make this every morning at home and was ecstatic to see it being produced at this spot. The staff is friendly and«chill» by definition. Don’t come up here all in a rush demanding shit. It kills the vibe. I also tried their toast which was an inch-thick piece of heaven with peanut butter, honey and cinnamon. If you’re thinking twice. Do it. Do it now.

Pink Floyd’s «Dark Side of the Moon» playing, artwork on the wall by SF artist Amos Goldbaum… it’s been two seconds & already this space, not even big enough to hold four customers at the same time, gets my vote. Our iced mochas had coffee ice cubes in them, so as not to dilute the rich chocolate/coffee tastes. Our barista — very cool, very in-the-zone — topped off our drinks with a messy drizzle of melting chocolate. Awesome on top of awesome. Sidenote: My perhaps old school, obsolete way of thinking about dieting wouldn’t let me order a Sherpa(aka Bulletproof coffee.) I’m endlessly curious about this concoction of coffee, kerrigold butter, & coconut oil, but I’m not convinced of the health benefits touted all over the internet. Alas, I’m sure I’ll give in to my curiosity next time I’m at this cool, little CoffeeShop across the street from Roccapulco.

So, after hearing all the hype for so long i finally stopped by the CoffeeShop while out running errands today to get a Sherpa aka Bulletproof Coffee. Apparently it’s made with beans from The Ubuntu Coffee Cooperative. $ 5 for a 12 oz. cup. They use grass-fed butter and some coconut oil. It was certainly more palatable than it sounds and I’m wired enough to write about it. When i arrived there was a couple ahead of me who had already ordered… the wait time was 10+ minutes. Didn’t get the sole barista’s name but I did receive excellent personalized service from her! i’ve been drinking Ph*lz Coffee exclusively since 2007(primarily Philharmonic or Greater Alarm) and find these flavor profiles much more pleasant that whatever was used in the Sherpa I had… it was a tad dark for my personal taste. Your mileage will may vary and on my next visit I will ask for mine to be made with a lighter roast. Anyhow, rockstar parking(less than one block away) in a free space on a rainy Sunday afternoon, minimal wait(based on other reviews), stellar service. I support small businesses and would visit again if in the area *AND* parking is available!

The praise heaped upon this one-man operation was mind-boggling enough for my curiosity to get piqued. On a rare free weekday morning, I decided to alleviate my piqued state and take a long ride on the 14 to that neighborhood south of Cesar Chavez where you find that urban enclave of taquerias and hipster hangouts like Betty Spaghetti and Baby Blues BBQ. I think I walked by CoffeeShop at least twice before realizing it was the bright green space with the glass door(photo:). At first, I was delighted there was only one customer ahead of me, but that situation changed quickly as regulars started trickling in at an alarming pace. Luckily I had the wherewithal to get my order in quickly and decided on the $ 4.75 Mocha which the barista made lightning quick in preparation of the incoming crowd. It was a satisfying concoction with a swirl of chocolate syrup on a billowy spritz of whipped cream(photo: ). But then after reading Ruggy’s review, I realize now that I should have given the $ 5 Sherpa Coffee a try with such unusual ingredients as Kerrygold butter and coconut oil blended into the coffee. Maybe next time. In the meantime, I also ordered a $ 4 Latke with raisin-freckled applesauce and whipped cream just to nibble on as I sat outside at one of the two café tables. This is when the barista was working like a highly organized madman accommodating multiple orders, so much so that I thought for sure my order fell into an abyss. I was about to give up and leave, but I gave it the old college try by swimming upstream through the waiting crowd and reminding him of my latke order. Since more than twenty minutes elapsed, he felt terrible about his oversight and gave me a complementary peanut butter cookie for my patience. Oh and the latke, too(photo: ), which ended up being on the lukewarm side for all his trouble. Completely forgivable although he definitely could use help back there during the peak hours. FOOD/DRINK — 4 stars… a stellar mocha but a lukewarm latke after a lengthy wait AMBIANCE — 3.5 stars… cute, compact spot but it does get claustrophobic with little effort SERVICE — 4 stars… I still give the barista credit for juggling so many orders TOTAL — 4 stars… such a generic name for a unique spot

Came here since I heard they had really good bulletproof coffee which is that butter in coffee hype. I’ve never tried it so I decided to go to Coffeeshop and try theirs! I had their Sherpa coffee and it was soooooo good!!! The coffee really reminded of Sherpa! It was so smooth and«fluffy» tasting from the butter or glycerol they put in. Actually it kinda tasted like they put coconut oil or something that had a coconutty/buttery taste! But the coconut flavor wasn’t overpowering instead it enhanced the earthy taste of the coffee! One taste and I was in love! Idk if it was because I’ve never had bulletproof coffee though, but it was darn good coffee! One other thing was that the coffee was kinda filling since they put the coconut/buttery ingredient in! After drinking half the coffee, I felt like I ate a whole meal!

Small coffee shop w outside seating. They have a good variety of coffee & it’s a plus that they freeze coffee ice cubes for their iced coffee/iced drinks. Though it was $ 5 for a large iced coffee, it was cool to eat the ice cubes after finishing my coffee to finish off with even more coffee! Def a must try to coffee luverz. The only downside for me is the horrific flashbacks from seeing the nightclub Roccapulco across the street HAHA.

I came here the other day with no expectations just a really good cup of coffee that’ll get me up. I got a sherpa, which was creamy and a hint of coconut and kerrygold butter, it was out of my norm. I also got iced coffee and cinnamon toast. The ice coffee was a hit, I went in the morning and by the afternoon I was up moving with a long day ahead. Definitely getting a iced coffee next time i go. ALSO the barista who made my drink, Bethany was great. She was patient and engaged with me while going through a line of people coming in. I never knew about this place, but glad I stumbled upon this place in the mission. I wouldve never guessed but great to know I can grab a well caffeinated cup of coffee that will get you going.

I have admired this small joint for a while now. From their decorated wooden panels that reads the time, to how impressive it is to pack all one can in the small proximity of a place. The owner mentioned it had been open for a couple of years but CoffeeShop started getting their fame more recently and I can see why. The iced cold brew with coffee ice cubes is definitely their MVP. The cold brew tastes as if the grounds were happily bathing in the coffee for over 24 hours. The coffee ice cubes kept the coffee cool without«watering» it down. It had a really smooth and robust taste. And it kept me jittery for the entire day! There’s nothing better than affordable, delicious coffee that will keep one caffeinated all day!

CoffeeShop was our first stop on our 2016SF Café Adventures! The small shop was conveniently located on Mission St. in front of many Muni and shuttle stops. It had a very rustic and earthy ambience(my fave) and served a huge variety of coffees and fresh gluten and dairy free treats. We both enjoyed lattes with almond milk, a gluten/dairy free blueberry donut and a cacao powerball. As service typically contributes to your eating experience as much as the food does, I must say the service here was great! A smiling and energetic barista at 7am made my morning cup of coffee twice as satisfying. Definitely coming back to try their Sherpa!

Love that there’s so many coffee shops around the area. After an appointment, went here to get a latte and one of their savory pastry, forgot what it was. Latte was really awesome. Service was also great. They have bulletproof coffee and I wanna come back to try. I raved about it to my husband and I’ve been meaning to come back. Soon, very soon!

I LITERALLYNEEDCOFFEE everyday to function so I am constantly looking for new places. During my quest to try a new coffee shop everyday, I found this place– super low key, super sweet people and good for grab&go(small indoor station)! Had a Sumatra dark pour over and this potato beef curry thingy that was delish-y. The best part about this place is what I witnessed… 2 older ladies came in wanting to learn coffee. one lady wanted a cup but decided not to buy since it was a little bit out of her budget. so the barista treated her to a cup since everyone needs coffee in their life. LOVE supporting a place that supports other people in this crazy world :)

Coffee– My favorite iced coffee! Soo good, and even better with coffee ice cubes. Sooo brilliant. Why don’t every café do this?! I also had their Sherpa coffee which is coffee + butter + coconut oil and it is divine… Tasted like a very light liquids coconut candy but I recommend slow sipping and the smallest size bc it is quite rich. Ambiance/Location– exterior is bright lime green and I didn’t see an obvious sign that says store name. Smells really good! Small, cozy shop by a muni bus stop with a few small tables and chairs outside. Menu is on a monitor and there are a lot of pastries available as well. Service– one female staff present when I went on Saturday afternoon. She was friendly and took our orders correctly. Pleasant interaction/experience. Overall, love this place already even though I haven’t tried any of their pastries yet. If I lived close by, I would want to come here often! Mattered parking on the street available and free street parking a couple blocks away but finding free parking could be challenging. Takes credit card.

Over 100 five star reviews can’t be wrong! I’m a sucker for Bulletproof Coffee. Being that I’m usually on work travel when visiting SF, I can’t easily store things in a hotel refrigerator(butter, specifically). That means I have to rely on a savvy coffee shop that’s bought into the benefits of adding butter + coconut oil to the morning cup of Joe for an extreme jolt of mental clarity. That coffee shop is, well, CoffeeShop. Here they call it Sherpa Coffee. For the uninitiated, the creator of Bulletproof Coffee(Dave Asprey) experienced a tea version using yak butter when trekking through Tibet with a group of sherpas. They drink yak butter tea to give them the mental fortitude and energy levels to mount a giant edifice in extreme weather conditions. If it works for these Nepalese adventurers, surely it can create an edge in your day to day tasks, right? It’s starting to take off, and places like CoffeeShop are early adopters. If you think drinking butter and coconut oil in your coffee sounds strange, you’re not alone. I did too. But after trying it once, it’s been part of my daily routine ever since. Not just effective in giving your brain some much needed fats, but also delicious. It’s similar to a latte, but in my opinion, it’s much tastier. Of course they have other offerings besides Sherpa Coffee here. They also feature the ubiquitous pour overs, espresso classics, and savory latkes and breakfast pastries. With a friendly staff as well, it’s a no-brainer destination to start your day if you reside in the neighborhood.

This is a place that takes extreme care and pride in its craft. My boyfriend loves the mission 16(coffee with a splash of warm milk) and the quality is comparable to Italy/Europe. He thinks that this is the best coffee in the entire US. They take extreme care where the filters are rinsed with hot water to wash away any chemical residue on the filter that may have altered the taste slightly. The owner is friendly and awesome — so lucky to have an amazing local spot nearby! I also tried the sherpa(coffee with kerrigold butter and coconut oil) — super healthy but very rich. I would only recommend the 8oz version to start. One would not be hungry after drinking this for breakfast! More of a to-go place rather a place to loiter and gather.

THISPLACEISSOCOOL! Don’t know why it took so long for me to check it out, but I’m glad I finally did. I heard about this place through and really sticks out with it’s green exterior. It’s tiny, and semi cluttered, but it possesses some sort of charm that I can’t describe. There’s a cool little black board nook that people decorate, along with a very unique LED muni schedule on the wall to the left of the entrance. Their pastry selection is pretty good as well. If you want to try a café that most people don’t seem to talk about in the Mission, CoffeeShop is definitely a good option.

Like having coffee in Harry Potter’s cupboard beneath the stairs. Came here specifically for their«Sherpa» which is coffee and butter blended together. Tastes a bit like a very rich latte. Tastes even better with honey added. Be prepared for a wait since there’s only one woman doing all the work. My wait time was a little over 15 minutes when there were 3 people ahead if me who ordered espresso drinks.

3.5STARS Coffee Shop is a cute hole in the wall modern coffee shop in Bernal. There are some parking meters out front and free side street parking, but I personally find this place inconvenient to get to since I have to drive. They have a pretty impressively curated menu, including a variety of gluten free pastries, and it was not bad but I personally was not a huge fan of any of the food or drinks I ordered. LARGEMATCHALATTE($ 4.50) — 4STARS: Slightly sweet with the option for unsweetened Califia Almond Milk(+$ 1) in medium or large. It was good but I think I would stick to their Ubuntu espresso drinks. * ICEDCOFFEE — 3.5STARS With coffee cubes! a nice cold brew but prefer a hot drink * TOAST($ 3) — 3.5STARS: Brioche like fresh cut toast topped with your choice of butter, cinnamon, honey, peanut butter or a combination of which. I ordered it with the crunchy peanut butter and it was good but not mind blowing. I’m also not a big fan of the brioche like consistency — I prefer a more chewy, bread-like texture.
