Compassionate Health Options

I had been to only Priceless Evaluations in the past several years. The long wait time at Priceless Evaluations and their outdated website did not allow me to make an appointment online.
So I renewed my Medical Cannabis ID card at the SOMA Compassionate Health Options clinic. CHO’s website was up to date and allowed me to reserve an appointment with Dr. Barth. After making the appointment, I received a reminder phone call for my upcoming appointment, just like UCSF’s automated system. The entire office was clean, organized, and the front staff was friendly and professional.
I would highly recommend Compassionate Health Options.

dr, barth & compassionate are my go to on Webster st. she truly is compassionate and makes you feel heard and understood.

this is my going on my 10^th year. I’ve never got the wrong impression from anyone here. They treated me with respect everytime I’ve went. They have a doctors office setting which I appreciate, especially because they have all my personal info on file. I don’t know why others gave them a bad review. it seems like they didn’t come with what was needed. bring what they need and you won’t have any issue. however if you make up some sob story and have no legit proof of any issues, you might have a hard time pulling a fast one. Bring a copy of your records and medication Info you won’t have any problem. they also price match if you bring the ad in. So get you stuff together and check this place out.

I went on a Friday a little after 4pm. It was a walk in and they were able to see me even though they closed at 5. They had some comfy couches, tea and water. They match competitors prices so bring a coupon. You can actually save a good amount.
What I took away from this experience is that eating right and exercising more often is very very important. I usually run for 20 – 25 min, maybe twice a week. But now I’m going to go more often, push myself to run a little further! Why not?! It’s great!

I have a life long condition so I have to renew yearly. I came in and asked if they still price matched and was told yes. Dumped $ 3 in a meter and walked back in only to be told they now need a physical price match… as in no phone/​mobile coupons. WTF. Seriously? Screw the trees, ink, or my time, right? Never again unless you renew me for free as compensation for the waste of time and embarassment.

Another year another excellent experience. I was a little concerned this year as I was going to the new San Rafael office which means no Dr. Barth but I will have to say that Dr. Weiss is also amazing. Dr. Weiss is a caring, compassionate man who knows how to listen and then dispense competent medical advice in a professional manner. I actually enjoyed my visit with Dr. Weiss and wholeheartedly recommend him to anyone seeking a compassionate caregiver.

I saw Dr. Daniel Rybold in San Rafael and have to say, it was the most positive, uplifting experience. I am in my late ’50’s and came to the world of medical cannabis 8 years ago after a life time of serious narcotics due to chronic pain. Dr. Dan Rybold could not have been a better ambassador for the world of medical cannabis. His mindful approach to dealing with the individual, coupled with his understanding, depth, and insight into healing was awe inspiring. We discussed the importance of diet, meditation, yoga… a complete and thorough explanation and understanding of all the elements that must be factored in to someone’s health régime.

I’m giving this place 1 star mostly to offset the other 5 star reviews which I believe this place does not deserve.
I made an appointment and despite arriving on time they informed me about 3 patients in front of me, estimated at 45min-​1hr wait.
This is ludicrous and disrespectful of their patients time. The front-​desk girl could have said in the very beginning: «I know you have an appointment, but we won’t be able to see you right away». Even that upfront honesty would have saved me time
Will never go back there…

This place is the best. Kind, professional and thoughtful. They love dogs. Bring some competing ads. They will match local prices. They are in soma. Please call them although you need no appointment.

Very positive experience at CHO. The process was quite simple and the staff was super friendly. I recommend making an appt and having paperwork filled out prior to visit, as it seems they get a lot of walk-​ins.
I must give a big virtual hug to Dr. Barth for taking the time to ask questions beyond the questionnaire and understand my concerns. I’d say not only compassionate, but genuine!

Two years running and they’ve been great. The doctors were great and polite. They honored coupons as long as you brought it in. Call them for an easy and quick appointment.

I rarely ever write reviews but I just have to with this.
The front office girl was super awesome. Relaxed and lots of personality.
Then I go in to meet with Dr Solomon. This is where it got weird. I enjoy all people and am a fairly open person and can get along with just about anyone. This guy, rubbed me completely the wrong way and was short with me and rude. I was slightly nervous as I am new to cannabis and was looking to talk to a knowledgable Dr.
I first scheduled an appt for 230 but they called and asked if I could switch to 130… which I then had to finagle with my job. Okay, no worries.
So, upon reading my form Dr Solomon asked why I had a breast reduction since I am male. I explained it was because I was a Transgender Male (given the sex of female at birth but transitioned into my true Male Gender). Anyway, I am not normally a super PC person and I expect that Dr’s expect me to be open about my being transgender. (It’s literally insane how Dr’s have NO clue about the gender transitions…)
Anyway, after I said that, he stared at me hard (awkwardly) and then said «I could never have guessed you were transgender…» Okay, thanks for the «compliment» man. but it’s really not a compliment and in fact… totally rude. I mean… thanks? Cool? Then he reads I have a partner and then asks why we don’t live together because as he said «people your age live together.» (Uh??? alright?) Then he asked why i wrote «Heterosexual». I said… because I am with a woman. He stared at me again and said «So your partner is a woman?» Me: «Yes?» Him: «And you consider yourself heterosexual because you think you are a man?» Me: «I am male, she is female so therefore we are in a heterosexual relationship.» I could go in depth… but I figured it was the easiest way to explain to a Dr who obviously doesn’t understand. Him: «Wow, that’s so interesting… Just really interesting» I mean… really? What in the hell?
Next, he abruptly asks for my medical records. I brought out my pill bottles and Dr. letters explaining how I had anxiety etc. and then said I didn’t have the full records but here are print outs from them direct. He said… «nevermind. I wont need that… i need your medical records.» Well, they were all certified and legit letters… so I am not sure what he was talking about?
Then he mentioned how he used to be a Gyno and how he had never told anyone before me… and how normally he could tell when transgender people were transgender but couldn’t tell with me. Again… with the offensive comments… and I don’t even get offended. like… ever.
So then after everything he says «Okay, I am just going to say you have insomnia because it’s not like they can prove it and its for your privacy.» ??? Um… okay?
He then asks if I have any questions (this has all now taken place in less than ten minutes…) I begin to ask him his recommendations for different types of cannabis as I figured he could help me figure out some more details with higher CBD and LOW THC. I have done my research and figured a dispensary could help… but thought why not ask the Dr? Anyway, he basically said he couldn’t really tell me because all bodies are different. I understand… but he just kept shutting my questions down and was totally not helpful in the least.
I went here because I saw it on many documentaries and it made me feel comfortable to go to a seemingly reputable clean place… but man… he was just weird.
Definitely wont be coming here again which is a bummer.

This place still rips you off I came back with my friend because he got his card there no problem for one year however this is my second time I came here and the second time I got a refund. I got offered the same bullshit three months only then come back for another appt. this is bullshit go to 20^th and mission it’s only 50 dollars in and out in 30 mins or less with a full year no questions asked. Don’t get tricked or risking your money for a over priced 3 month recommendation trust me it might happen to 1 out of every 10 people and you might be the one. Happened to me twice…

Great place to have filled your prescription filled. I have came here annually here for a number of years and have never had anything but great experiences. I am usually in and out in less than 30 minutes.

After finding out my Original Cannibus Doctor who gave me my first referral mysteriously passed away, I was skeptical about renewing my card. This woman is awesome. She has this tremendous light about her when you meet her and she’s so nice! In and out of her clinic within 30 minutes, plus had about 5 people in front of me. Quick and effective. Got an ID card for a few bucks more. Awesome service!

I didn’t know what to expect of my first visit to a doctor/​clinic of this type. Dr Barth is truly compassionate and professional. I will surely be recommending Dr Barth to anyone else needing alternative treatment.

Fast and professional. Cut a deal for renewals. The ID card is worth it, don’t sweat the extra $ 15.
Also, if you’re running late, call them. Pretty chill about showing up since a bunch probably forget to show. Closed Sundays!

Compassionate Health Options prices are not good. Renewals are $ 80. Other places in the city have renewals for $ 35.
On the plus side, it’s nice and clean inside. The staff is nice. And I suppose it’s worth the extra $ 45 to not be treated like a junkie. But I’m still deducting a star for the price. Sorry.
Dr. Barth is a treasure, but she’s not much at this location, anymore. Minus another star.
Compassionate Health Options: If you give a price break to your loyal patients who have been coming to you for years, I’ll give you a star back. Maybe two.
