After one visit top Corey’s fab food hut, we had to come back for more, that same day. Funny thing was that as we were eating the veggie wrap(collard greens, not grains) multiple people stopped to ask us about the food. We immediately directed them to Core Elations. The most fresh, clean, flavorful food experience ever. I could go vegan if I had access to Core Elations regularly. Core Elations should not be missed if you are traveling thru or live in the SF area. Corey was not in town over Thanksgiving. Its worth a drop by to see if he’s at the Ferry Marketplace.

we come here just for this guy when we were in sf but since we moved to socal, we fly back here and stay at a hotel nearby just to see this guy. imagine our disappointment when we couldn’t find him and his neighboring vendor said that he was taking some time off… over the years, his prices have gone up a dollar but is it worth it? this guy has a cult following and we are part of that so you decide. the best smoothie is the vanilla sky — as my guy says… it’s coconut creamy heaven.

Ever wonder what«hippie food» is? Then make a visit to Core Elations! This stall at the Ferry Building Farmers Market epitomizes what hippie food is: raw, vegan, organic, and healthy — not exactly the adjectives I look for in my food. In fact, I tend to avoid items from the vegetarian section of a menu(especially anything raw and/or vegan!) and I could never live without meat. But I was curious and feeling adventurous one Saturday afternoon so I decided to give Core Elations a try. They have a large selection of shakes/smoothies( ), «happy wraps»(aka«love filled vegan sushi»), salad rolls, and desserts( ). I ended up getting the Dragon Heart wrap(brown rice, avocado, sweet potato, red pepper, kale, basil, «dragon sauce» and«fiery love» wrapped in nori; ) and the Amrita Gold smoothie(with durian, coconut water/meat, banana, agave, ginger, cardamom, cinnamon, vanilla; ). Both were actually really good! There was a great combination of flavours and textures in the wrap(I especially liked the creaminess of the avocado and the freshness of the basil). I also loved the smoothie. All the ingredients worked really well together — you can definitely taste a hint of everything but none of the flavours was overwhelming(not even the durian!) I’m still no hippie food convert(bring on the red meat!) but it’s good to add some variety to my diet. With Core Elations I can explore my hippie side without the hairy armpits and legs :)

All the way from Santa Cruz to the Ferry Building Saturday Market. Vegan wraps, soups, smoothies and desserts. I went with the Swirl In Your Eye wrap. Inside: — Brown rice — Avocado — Baked tofu — Sweet potato — Carrots — Cashews — Nori — Self love I asked if that last one was a secret sauce. Nope. The guy running the booth said it was just the mood they were feeling when made this absolutely outstanding concoction. Every wrap has a different love, and after having one, I might be back to try them all.
