While the hotel did a nice job of sprucing up the lobby/check-in area, so they could get the money in the til; they left other more important details undone. First off, no bellman. They ask the underpaid valets to do the job of multiple positions. Second, the rooms are miniscule. Converted hostel rooms there are the smallest I’ve ever overpaid for. Upper management are pompous, out of touch show poodles, only concerned w cover their own ass tactics. And the elevator goes out when it feels like it. All & all a bust! Avoid spending your hard earned cash here on your getaway.

This hotel is in a fairly convenient location, but like many places in the area parking is a pain. They offer valet, but the cost is imposing. The lobby has been recently renovated and there is a coffee shop toward the back. There is also a small snack shop near check in for the basics. The entire staff seemed friendly and helpful. Wifi is free throughout the hotel. The rooms are nice, but small. It reminded me of staying in New York. The décor is up to date. There are conveniently located outlets. The bathroom is also small, but nice. Overall this is a solid place to stay. The rooms are small, but that is fine for short stays. The price is not bad for the area, but they try to compensate for that with the parking.

With the new Courtyard, Marriott gets it right. The hotel has a nice boutique feel to it… reminiscent of a Kimpton hotel. As some Unilocalers have mentioned, the rooms are a bit small but I found them to be modern, well appointed and generally well put together. They’ve done a great job with the décor and maximizing the space they have. They staff was also welcoming and helpful. The hotel is in a good location with easy walks to most anything you want to do in the city… hipster bars and restaurants in the Tenderloin, Union Square, Mission District, etc.

Decent price for location and time of year mid January. Got a room in the basement literally don’t mind a little unsettling by the elevator as you here the maintenance workers crack jokes. The biggest disappointment was my ironing experience… Drippy twenty dollar iron with a crooked crappy ironing board that bairly stands and makes the iron tip over to the floor while adjusting my shirt. Worst ironing experience of my life.

What a nice hotel! A boutique Courtyard a couple blocks from SF Union Square, and everything else SF. Greeted with a smile, and the great service never stopped. The décor is over-the-top artsy, giving it a very unique look & feel. Historic building that looks brand new. And finally a hotel with«HD» flat-screens. You will not be disappointed.

Checked in last night, Thanksgiving, to spend a few days in the city with my brother. Hotel is comfortable and clean. The location is very convenient and close to Union Square. The staff are extremely polite and helpful.

I originally booked a room specifically for two queen beds. At check-in, I was informed that they had sold my room which greatly upset me. I needed these two beds because we had four people in our room. Truly unprofessional of this hotel. I do not think I will be staying with them again.

Got here after 3pm and our room was not ready(but they did allow us to store our bags, so we did and roamed around Union Square). Rooms are TINY! Hallways are narrow! If you are claustrophobic: DONOTSTAY here!(I am regretting changing my reservation from the Marquis Marriott for this place!!!) Only chose this place because it’s closer to Union Square(I’m here for the Nike Half). WiFi is spotty! Valet parking is $ 52 Place is clean and new-ish. At least now I know where NOT to stay next time we’re here in SF.

Stopped here the other day to check it out for my parents. They come to SF frequently and are Marriott biased. They usually stay at the Marriott Marquis, but the new Market Street restrictions and construction in the area make it a total pain in the rear to get over there to pick them up(or even take Lyft/Über to the hotel). So came here looking for an alternative. Initial impressions: — staff was friendly and cordial — very willing to show me a room and answer any questions — Rooms — in the 166 rooms everything is new, so it still looks nice. Rooms are typical for SF — lower end rooms are small, corner rooms(more $‘s) are a little bigger, etc. — Building is newly renovated — nice historic looks outside and around the hotel with a modern flair in the lobby and rooms — Dining/drink options are limited — as in most Courtyards, there is a limited selection — just the Bistro counter with breakfast/dinner and basic beer/wine/cocktail options in the evening. BUt there are a number of dining options within a short walk of the hotel. — Parking — as with most SF hotels, this is expensive. Here it is Valet only and will set you back $ 59 per day — Location — some call it Lower Nob Hill, others say Upper Tenderloin — we call it TenderNob. It is not the best area, but not the worst either. Keep an eye on your wallet/handbag and don’t walk around looking at your phone/tablet/map and you should be ok. — Transportation — No shuttle service. BART is 0.6 miles away — not bad for me, but for a tourist hauling suitcases it is a bit much. Muni is close(2&3 go right by, 27 is at either end of the block). Taxis and car service should be able to pick you up right out front, and for a couple bucks the valet guy may flag a taxi for you if he has time(no doorman, it is a Courtyard). They advertise themselves as «steps from Union Square» — Those are some pretty large steps given that they are 4 blocks away. Overall, it looks decent. I will update this review after the stay this weekend.
