This is an excellent business! A very nice dispatcher took my call Christmas Eve and a key person came out and helped me get into the house. They were quick and the price was right. Very professional.

We have a vintage door lock, which Warman staff fiddled with years ago — they rekeyed and charged for the work despite never getting the lock to work. I assumed the lock was a lost cause. However, a recent contractor suggested Crown, so I booked an appointment last month.
Joe showed up on time and was highly knowledgeable about vintage locks. Within an hour, he had the door + gate rekeyed and lubricated. For the first time in years, we have full access via the locks again. Couldn’t be happier and will definitely be using Crown Hardware again for any locksmith needs!

My biggest complain is showing up on-​time. I made an appointment, and they gave me a time window of 1 hour: 11am — 12pm. So far, so good. Other locksmiths would give me a much longer window. However, no-​one showed up at 12:15pm. I called and was connected to Jesus. He sounded as if he was not even sure that he had an appointment with me. He said that he would be there in 10 minutes and showed up in about 35 minutes. The work that Jesus did was good. I would have no problem if they would call me beforehand and explained that they were running late. Any kind of notice would suffice instead of me waiting. A little better planning, and they would get 5 stars.

I’d give Crown 10 stars if I could! Absolutely wonderful service. We recently purchased a very old house, and it had a beautiful lock on the front door, but we didn’t have the key. I called out a mobile locksmith, but he botched the job. We looked all over the place for a locksmith that knew how to work old locks, and no one could do it. Then we found Crown Locksmith. Ken is seriously a master locksmith. He got our old beauty working like a precision machine, probably better than it worked originally. Everyone at the store was so helpful and friendly and they have a full service hardware store too. We will be bringing all of our business here in the future, both for hardware and for lock installation too. Crown Hardware is a business that knows how to do it right. Thank you so much.

It’s about time I finally took a minute to review Crown Locksmith. They have given great service at fair prices to my business for over 20 years. Honest, friendly workers.

I needed to get a couple locks rekeyed. These guys were quick and reasonably priced. They were finished within 15 minutes and did a great job with the locks.

As a manager of 19 properties in the city, I work with a lot of vendors and locksmiths. Crown lock is by far my favorite. I can’t count the number of times they have pulled me out of a jam and saved me with little to no notice. I’ll call them on a busy day with an emergency and they’ll literally have someone their in 15 minutes. It sounds clichè but their customer service is top notch. I always enjoy talking to Linda and Joe in the office. Their locksmiths are all very highly skilled and a pleasure to work with.

I work at a Property Management company and I have a client who is very devoted to his buildings. He will only work with the best! And for him, Crown Lock was the BEST! They gave great service at a fair price and he was very pleased with the entire experience. He especially raved about Linda. He said, «She’s the BEST!»

I’ve used Crown Lock many years ago, and had great service… but not using a locksmith very often means one has little to compare against… so they did a great job last time and everything worked and I was happy. Fast forward a decade to last week, the gate to my house was not closing properly. Called Crown the next day but they were fully booked, so I tried the next locksmith company on my list. The locksmith called and said he would be there in 30 min, but took 65 minutes. He removed the 1 side of the gate lock system (and quoted me $ 375+ for it — yikes — but I needed it done), and then finds out it’s the other side of the lock (connected to the electrical buzzer in the house) that actually needed to be replaced. He went off to ‘find’ that part and never returned!
The next morning I called Crown Lock again, and luckily they managed to squeeze me in when I told them the horror story of the previous day with the other locksmith company. Michael came out, fixed the gate, and the whole lot cost me just over 50% of what the other locksmith company was going to charge. He also showed me his DCA license (the other locksmith co hadn’t). I was the fool for not asking because, as Michael so rightly stated, we are entrusting the security of our homes etc to someone changing/​fixing locks etc — so they better be licensed and checked out by the FBI.
I knew we were safe with Crown Lock. That is a good feeling. Plus they did a great job, in good time, at a good price… and a big plus is that it is easy to communicate with them…

I work for a large property management company and Crown is my go-​to-​locksmith. They are very professional and have gotten myself and my tenants out of a jam (pun intended) on numerous occasions. Linda is very profession and such a pleasure to work with. In fact the whole staff is. Joe is also very responsive and gets the job done right the first time. They are honest and expedite the work needed. I couldn’t imagine going to anyone else.

They just fixed my building’s lock. I don’t know how much they charged, but they were quick and didn’t try to rip my landlord off with addons

If you want to make a copy of a key (that’s unusual or odd shape), this is the place to go. I was trying to make a copy of a mailbox key. I went to 4 different locksmiths and made 4 keys but none of them worked. A friend mentioned this place and I am thankful. The locksmith here really tried and finally I have a key that works.

These guys are great. They are very accomodating with returns and if they don’t stock something, they will have a good recommendation on where else to get it.

My bicycle was vandalized last night, which involved jamming something into my u-​lock so that my key wouldn’t work and I couldn’t remove it from the bike rack. So much for the «safe» area. My bad. I called around for someone who could cut the lock and got quite a few high quotes and not a lot of support. Crown had the best rate and was available to meet me within a couple of hours. And so nice about it.
Mike the locksmith met me and within seconds my bike was free. Relief! My mechanic was glad I got the lock cut as quickly as possible because when I told him about the jamming of my u-​lock so that my key wouldn’t work, he said that I had been baited. As in, if I can’t get the bike unlocked and removed, the vandals would most likely return to strip my bike. They too can access the tools that the locksmith used. Good to know.

Got my keys made here and I received great service with a smile. The key I had made had an issue and they fixed the problem without charging me extra. Prices are reasonable as well. I will be back here if I need any keys made in the future.

To all the 1– and 2-​star reviewers. Get off your lazy arses, unscrew the lock out of your door, and take it to the shop, and then it’s only $ 15 to rekey or fix. But… if you have a highly trained locksmith drive all the way to your selfish house, find parking, and then proceed to fix your lock, of course you are going to pay $ 90 or more. In fact, the one complainer below should be happy that all that was needed on your lock was some WD-​40. AT least they didn’t try and rip you off buy up-​selling you. And to highlight your ignorance more, I doubt they even used WD-​40 in the first place, as they steered me away from that product. They suggested cheap Triflow to lube locks.
As for me, I brought my Schlage deadbolt in, and not only did they rekey my deadbolt, but they actually made two keys for my house that worked better than the old, worn down house key that I brought in. All this, a re-​key and better house keys for $ 15! What a deal! 5 Stars for sure. Ignore the lazy bashers below, these folks are legit.

Extremely disappointed in being ripped off after having an account with Crown for at least 10 years. It seems they care more about $$$$ now than keeping customers satisfied or at all. In a nutshell, our lock wouldn’t turn with the key, the Crown guy come out, pops off the handle and basically sprays WD 40 in it saying it was dirty. Then he charged $ 88 for that! Are you kidding me?! A lock we purchased and had installed by them fails and they charge us almost $ 100 for 10 minutes?!
I actually spoke with a different locksmith who was fixing a different problem, he saw the door handle and lock which had been done by Crown, and when I told him what they did and charged he was shocked but also said they are known to do business that way. I can understand being charged for at least the service charge to come out and check it, but being charged over $ 40 to spray WD 40?! SMDH
Well, I was referred to Complete Security that also does the Medco security key system. I will be checking into them to see if they are more customer service oriented and care about keeping long term clients!

I had to have my doors rekeyed a few weeks ago and the last guy was helpful and did the job, but for some reason, my door knobs stopped opening a few days later. After a week of maneuvering in and out through my garage, I finally gave up and called them back.
An hour later (on a Saturday! Nice!), Matt shows up, goes above and beyond and fixes the problem. Turns out, it wasn’t even their fault but he fixed it in less than 30 minutes. Best neighborhood business ever!

I have been going with Crown Lock for the past 2 years, and they have been fixing and replacing our locks several times and practically replaced al the locks in our place, central keying them, added dead bolt. They even know how to deal with an antique lock. The price is very pricey, $ 88 for the service charge including one cylinder change, additional cylinder is $ 30. Additional key is $ 5.
Even with this pricey price, I felt their work is trust worthy. But until knowing the owner Greg Schoepp is the applicant for the Taraval Medical Marijuana Dispensery, I have completely changed my mind. I can no longer fund him to open a narcotic shop in my backyard to poison my kids. Bye bye Crown Lock!

These guys are wonderful! I had a great experience with them. Last night the key to my 1996 Toyota Camry snapped off in the ignition. Fortunately, if I stuck what was left of the key in the switch, the car would still start. I called eight locksmiths before I called Crown and they solved the problem with the best price, $ 44.
Here is the saga. Last night I checked Unilocal for locksmiths and found Metro. I emailed them and they replied that they didn’t work on cars.
They recommended Locksmith Central. I called them and they quoted me $ 175!
I checked Unilocal again and tried Mike’s Locksmith, they have no shop.
I tried Lockworld and they told me over the phone, $ 45 if it’s easy to get out, $ 90 if it isn’t. I drove over there and when I got there they said the guy on the phone had misquoted me, it would be $ 90 no matter what.
That didn’t sit too well with me so I drove over to my mechanic’s, Carlos, to see what he thought. He said he would have recommended Lockworld but after I told him what happened there he said try Warman’s.
I came home, and called Warman’s. It took forever for someone to pick up, then I got put on hold, transferred to another line, and then disconnected.
I called Pop-​a-​Lock and they said I would have to give my number and a locksmith would call me back with a quote. I realized they are only mobile and knew that would be higher so I declined.
I called Hugo’s Lock and Key and he was very nice but only made house calls and it was $ 90 minimum. Since I could drive the car I decided to keep calling.
I called West Coast Emergency and he said $ 65. I decided to drive over there and lo and behold, I realized I had locked the good key in the car and the broken off key was all I had on my key ring so now I was locked out of the car.
I called Triple A to open the car and the tow driver told me that I could drive the car like that forever, it’s just that someone could steal it easily because a screwdriver would start it. You couldn’t tell that part of the key was in there so I figured I’d wait a while on it although it made me kind of nervous that it might begin to not start.
I went to Ace Hardware on Clement to get another key made and asked them if they could recommend anyone. They said Lockworld. I told them about the misquote and they said try Crown on Balboa.
I decided to look up on the internet how to get a key out yourself and found several ways to do it, involving super glue, tiny saw blades, hemostats, bobby pins, paper clips, dental tools. I had already tried myself with tweezers and tiny pliers but there was nothing of the key to grasp.
Not wanting to mess it up more I called Crown. Joe was the most helpful and friendly of any these guys I had talked to. He said $ 44 if it was easy. He said it might start for a while with it stuck in there but it could eventually wear out something in the lock, and then I’d be stuck.
I drove it over there and Jesus tried first to get it out with little tools, then he said he could take the lock out, it would be easier, and it was still $ 44! He got the ignition out, the broken piece of key out, and everything back in place in under 15 minutes!
My persistence paid off so if you don’t want to waste a lot of time calling around, just call Crown in the first place. Now I know if I have any more lock problems I’ll call Crown first.
