I came upon this place while on my stroll through Pier 39. Walking inside, I smelled the aroma of the caramel corn which smelled delightful. I should have ordered that. Instead, I decided to try the Maple Bacon Cronut. Boy was that a big mistake! Not only was it super expensive($ 4.89 with tax!) but it was greasy, chewy and flavorless! They said that they warm it up and I am assuming via the microwave because it tasted like it. I was very disappointed and upset I wasted my money. My sister and I took one bite and threw the rest away. The mini donuts on the first floor are by far way better!

Such a sweet little place hidden just up the stairs and then a short walk on the West side of the Pier. So many bite sized cupcakes to pick from with such flair and taste. Super cute place and one of my two fave ‘secret spots’ along the Pier.

My boyfriend and I stopped in here on a cold day and where really happy to see they have indoor seating! Really well made espresso drinks and a good selection of sweets. Very friendly and served our drinks in actual cups not the usual to go cups. Excellent place to step out of the frantic tourist pace on pier 39 sit back and relax for a few minutes.

Expensive, but a lot of these little boutique cupcakeries are and deliver very mediocre cupcakes. This one was different. I had a mini«lemon drop» and a full-sized key lime. They were SO good. Extremely moist, tons of flavor, very spongy, with frosting so fluffy it tasted like eating a sweet cloud or something. I also got a small toasted marshmallow hot cocoa, which was great. All three items came to about ten bucks. I would definitely get cupcakes from here again.

I was extremelyyyy disappointed. First off, it seems like the people working here are more interested in the music playing than the customers coming in. I ordered 2 red velvet, cookies & cream, mocha, carrot cake, strawberry/mango, and chocolate. These cupcakes don’t taste NEARLY as good as they look. Sorry to be a kill joy, but this kinda killed my daughter’s birthday. The icing on the RV and carrot cake was«alright». But, the others were not good at all. The actual cake wasn’t something that I’d ever want again. Taste like boxed cake mix; really bland & kind of dry. I’m a pastry chef, so when I go to a bakery and spend $ 20 on cupcakes, SOMEONE better be happy. Not even my 6 year old liked them. Sorry! I won’t be back here.

Located upstairs in the shopping area at Fisherman’s Wharf on Pier 39, Cup & Cake Café sell cute cupcakes, desserts and drinks. We purchased a mango strawberry cupcake and ate it at their little counter inside. It was sweet and moist but I wish it had been bigger for the price(3 dollars and change). I love me a good cupcake and these were a-ok.

I tried a mini mocha, chocolate banana & coconut cupcake. All three tasted great but were a little sloppy. In the display, several cupcakes were smudged or were running into another cupcake beside it. The workers didn’t seem to enthusiastic & the prices are outlandish. It cost over $ 3 for a mini cupcake & these«minis» are WAY more mini than the ones @ Kara’s or Sprinkles cupcakes. I used to sell cupcakes & I would sell 12 regular sized ones for $ 18. I think if they lowered the prices by just a little bit I would be a bigger fan of this place. I do like their location on the pier & I do like the fact that they have an outdoor space on the 2nd floor that overlooks the pier. It’s a great spot to grab dessert & people-watch.

A cute little café located on the second level of Pier 39. The girl working was jamming to some alt punk, so bonus star for that! Stopped here for some yummy Illy coffee. Ordered a delicious cappuccino and a tiny red velvet cupcake, which was the cutest thing I’ve ever seen. The cupcake was kinda pricy, $ 1.95 for one bite. I wish I had just ordered the regular size, which really wasn’t that much more!

Chocolate chip cookie for my daughter, iced chai tea sweetened for me almost 8bucks which is fine but not when customer service is not good, and my tea tastes like water. Gave 2 stars because my daughter loved her cookie.

I came here with family while visiting SF. I ordered the nutella latte and a banana chocolate mini cupcake. The latte was just OK but my cupcake was AMAAAAAAAAAAAZING!!! I wish I had ordered a full sized cupcake. I wish I could find this cupcake flavor in LA. I wish I lived closer to this store!!! Anyway, they have a cute seating area and a cool patio with a view of the shops below. The service was good. GOFORTHEBANANACHOCOLATECUPCAKE!!!

The cupcakes are a little small for the $ 3.50 price tag — but man, are they delicious! Daphne and I both had a salted carmel cupcake. We both agreed that they are one of the best we’ve had. From the moist cupcake to the carmel icing and the carmel drizzle. I also had a large coffee. The coffee is comparable in taste and price to most coffee shops. Overall, a great experience. Thank you!

cup & cake café has seriously the best coffee on the pier, and simply because it comes from ily(: I personally like to treat myself to the white chocolate mocha, French kiss, hazelnut or butterscotch. also, they just got in new cupcakes as well, which are even better than before!

So I ordered a cookie n cream cupcake and a mini vanilla bean. Also a medium/double espresso. A plate for here, and a to-go cup. The lady asked if she could put a double in a 3oz cup. I said no, a medium to go cup please. Add a splash of soy milk. I got my cakes. Had to wait for the espresso. Got a single in a single to go cup. Luke warm. Seriously. No steam. Not even a hot touch. It was freaking luke warm. So, I also asked, if that was a medium order. 4.25 for a double espresso, in a single cup filed barely half. Yea, Not happening! She made a mistake. Got me a second shot of espresso. ***OMFGCOLD!!! and you just made it? Really? It took longer for the first one then the second, especially after you said, oh, I only made one. Sigh. maybe you put to much soy. but why would you serve it cold. I would have been better off paying 1.50÷2.00 for espresso from Starbucks, and anyone who knows coffee knows what that means. Save your money. That was the worst. But I do give 1 star for the chilled tasteful cupcakes. I don’t recommend the minis. One bite, lame. It should atleast be savory, not a poof. Ok. Thanks, but no thanks.

Great location not so great Cupcakes.2.5 stars out of 5 A trip into The City with Hubby brought us to Pier 39 so wanting to this little Café for their Cupcakes for some time I persuaded him to come too. The display looked enticing, so much so even my Husband eye’s widened and declared that we should get a half dozen. Sold! We selected 3 each along with a Chocolate Milano Cookie Latte for him and decided to sit in and enjoy one each while we decided where we wanted to go next. The interior is cute and the lady serving was very friendly but sadly the Cupcakes were just not very good. — Lemon Meringue — Had a nice flavor but was on the dry side, Meringue topping could have been toasted a little more. Disappointed there wasn’t any Graham Cracker on the bottom like a real Pie. — Crème Brulee — Also dry and really just tasted like a regular Caramel. — Cookie and Cream — Dry also. Frosting was smooth and Cookies were fresh. — Strawberry Shortcake. I didn’t try this as it was my Husbands choice but he said that is was ”kinda boring and dry”. Half a dozen Cupcakes are $ 18.50 which is about the same price as a lot of other Bakeries but one thing we also noticed was that were charged extra for 2 ”filled Cupcakes” at 30c each. I get it, filling costs more but none of the Cupcakes we purchased had any filling in. My Husband and I spent a few minutes trying to figure out which ones were meant to be filled. We can only assume it was meant to be the Lemon Meringue or the Crème Brulee as these were the ones we had 2 of. My Husband also said that the Chocolate Milano Cookie Latte tasted just like regular Latte. Lot’s of seating inside but sadly not somewhere I would want to return to.

During our San Francisco trip, my husband and I stopped here twice. The first time was an early Friday morning in which we were walking around Pier 39 and I was craving coffee. As we walked by this shop, I noticed the cupcake sign and saw their latte list. They had tons of flavored lattes and I’m a sucker for Irish Crème, so we wandered in to check it out. The inside is cute with plenty of seating and a private patio outback. The patio is neat because it overlooks the shopping center below. The employee behind the counter was extremely friendly and knowledgeable. She told us about their cupcakes, describing the flavors, and about the special they had on mini-cupcakes. I wasn’t really hungry, but my husband got a mini crème brulee cupcake and thought it was amazing.(I didn’t really like the frosting, but to each their own.) Instead, I got a medium Irish Crème Latte. Mmm… it was delicious. I liked it so much that when we came back to Pier 39 the next day, we stopped by again for coffee. This time, I ordered a large Irish Crème Latte and we got a few more cupcakes to split. I ordered a mini tiramisu, a mini double chocolate and my husband got a large crème brulee cupcake. Again, I wasn’t very impressed with the cupcakes. Something about the frosting was just off — either too thick or grainy(like too much sugar that didn’t blend) or waxy feeling. Meh. The latte, however, was delicious. I would give this place 5 stars alone for the lattes and customer service. Unfortunately, the cupcakes were more of a 3 star experience. Overall, if you are in the area, definitely check it out.

Simple and short review: I LOVE a good cupcake and this is not where you go for one. Luckily I had got the mini cupcakes(cheapest when trying more than one). Why was I disappointed? I don’t normally enjoy my cupcakes dry. And icing is usually my favorite part — which this time it was probably the worst. Heard them playing ADTR in the shop. I’d say that was the best part of the experience. =)

Love the cupcake here, not too sweet like most places. Their coffee is a bit small and pricy. I tired their peanut butter latte. It was good but I didn’t taste any peanut butter. It kinda just tasted like a normal latte.

I didn’t try the cupcakes. The nutella and salted caramel latte were good though! My brother couldn’t tell which drink was his, I guess the nutella doesn’t taste very nutella-y. The view is cute! They have a little balcony area where you can chill out and watch all the other tourists. Next time I come by, I’ll give the cupcakes a try.

Adorable little café on the upper level of Pier 39. They offer a small selection of tea, coffee, and cupcakes. They don’t offer much seating, but it wasn’t busy when we came in on a weekend. They offer a good variety of different cupcake flavors — red velvet, vanilla bean, chocolate, cookies & cream, nutella, etc. We got the peanut butter cupcake — it was moist, moderately-sized, and very savory. I am very picky about my PB cupcakes and can honestly say that it was one of the best ones I’ve ever had. The cupcakes here are also reasonably priced for the location of their store! The standard cupcakes are $ 3.75. We also bought a bottle of water for $ 2.50, which is a ripoff, but I can’t complain. Service was friendly & helpful as well. I’d def like to come back :)

Meh. Maybe I just came too late and missed out on their other amazing flavors? When I went here around 8pm last night, they only had the PB chip one, red velvet, lemon meringue, and a marble cake. Now, I’m not a big fan of PB and I’m tired of red velvet so I was caught between the lemon meringue and the marble cake. Well, my cousin convinced me to get the marble cake. It’s not often you actually see a marble cupcake so why not? Well, the cupcake was okay. I agree with the other reviewers that it wasn’t overly sweet like a lot of other bakeries, but it wasn’t out of the world amazing either. Also, the cake part was a bit firmer than I would have liked. Maybe I just need to come here earlier for a fresher selection? I dunno. The worker was friendly and very patient with me as I thought over everything, but the cupcake was just okay at best.
