I have been coming here for years even when they had their location on mission. I normally grab my usual of teriyaki or roast beef. The Korean couple that own the business are very friendly and also have a small tailoring station which sits apart at the front window. The woman always wipes the cutting board between orders and always uses new washed plates for meat that requires heating. They are open really early in the morning if you need to grab something for lunch before you head to work. The location is very convenient and sits in the middle of multiple banks and businesses and across the street from a Laundromat. This place has been part of the community for more than 2 decades and hope they stay open despite all of the BSSF is dishing out lately.

$ 18 for two sandwiches — seems pretty pricey considering the very low quality of the meat and cheese. The woman who made the sandwiches handled money then food, without washing her hands in between. Will not return. Roxie’s is walking distance and blows this place out of the water.

In comparison to all the other sandwich options in this area, I can say I’ve had better. Submarine sandwiches are expected to be meaty and filled with flavor. Any flavor. These are definitely not. I can’t say I’m necessarily put off by the alteration shop sitting inside the deli, but it’s a little disconcerting to come in during the lunch rush and be the only ones inside. On this day, I had the Hot Pastrami. Once again, a little misleading as the pastrami is refrigerated and only heated up if you decide to toast the sandwich a bit. Service is friendly and I have no complaints from that end. Spending $ 8 – 9 for a 9″ submarine sandwich though is a bit more than expected with lack luster results. There are better options on this street. If you need a quick bite with no wait though, feel free to come in. They also have ice cream. I think. Sort of?

Okay i’ve been converted. It’s a tasty, simple sandwich and maybe i like watching Korean variety shows, but if i’ve come back at least 4 times, it’s clearly grown on me. Plus mrs kim is really nice.

I love the sandwiches here. It’s a tiny shop with a friendly owner. They have a basic list of sandwiches you can order, but all are affordable. It’s within a very short walking distance from public transportation and there’s metered parking right out front.

Best place in town to get your sandwiches and alterations done(there is a little closet with a tailor in the front). The pastrami sandwich I got was somewhere between average and good. The meat was thin; that was a plus. It was precut awhile ago, so that was a negative. The bread was fine. The hot pastrami was not very hot though. Besides that it is completely no frills. There are about 5 meat choices, and the vegetables are the oh-so-inventive lettuce, tomato and onion. Your chip choice is Lays potato chips or… lays potato chips.

Okay this place is pretty good, but not the best in San Francisco. I’d have to say it’s the best within a mile radius of its location. «If there is any better nearby, then let me know where!» I’m not a «Subway Sandwich» guy, so forget that. I want a sandwich that’s packed and filled. Had the large Atomic Sub. So when I’m hungry for a sandwich and in the area, I’m coming here — until, someone has better! Haven’t tried the Teriyaki specials yet, but you bet I will.

I really wanted to give this place a try. I was in the neighborhood &I wanted something quick for lunch. I ordered a #2&sadly… as I was eating my second half. My stomach didn’t feel too well. I went back to work &all of a sudden I started throwing up. I knew it was from the sandwich because it didn’t set so well in my stomach. I realized I got food poisoning, so be careful when ordering sandwiches here. :(When I walked in the store the lady that was working there was nice, although I don’t think she followed the cleanliness guidelines in food prep. I’d rather walk up the hill to The Salad Place or down the street to Subway instead of this. Their place is much cleaner.

I dont know why… but I have a slight obsession with one of their sandwiches: UNtoasted turkey breast, white cheese, avocado, lettuce, tomatos, a little bit of salt and pepper and(the secret) DRESSING. Plain, simple, and super yummy. I know what you’re thinking… an untoasted sandwich? Like I said, I don’t know why. but I love it here. –1 star for the«rinse with water» hand washing technique the lady uses. Would be nice to see her use soap for once, but hey, I’ve never been sick off their sandwiches and I don’t think anyone else has either. Won’t stop me from coming by when I’m in the neighborhood.

Affordable oven sandwiches and have a good selection on meat. The korean lady is always nice however the only pet peeve I have is that she does not wear gloves when making the sandwiches. But she does wash her hands if she handled with cash. Cash only!

This is a good sandwich option if you’re in the neighborhood, but certainly not worth going out of the way for. The people who run it are very sweet and the sandwiches are good(not bad, nor great). Nothing stood out as a «must try», but I’d definitely consider giving them another go if I’m in area… and would opt for one of the teriyaki sandwich options… They offer the typical deli meat sandwiches you’d find anywhere else and they ask if you want a sauce that tastes like italian dressing. Would recommend that if you’re doing one the italian or submarine sandwiches, but don’t know why anyone would ever do that to a corned beef/pastrami…but that’s me. The sandwiches are what you’d expect based from the description of ingredients… corned beef(check), pastrami(yep), turkey(it’s there) Be warned there is a sewing machine and alterations area in the front… and THEYARECASHONLY

$ 2.50 for bacon(2 pieces) $ 1.00 for Avocado(Half) Making my SM/MED Turkey, Bacon, Avocado, sized sandwich cost $ 9.52. If I had know I was going to pay 3.50 for extras I wouldn’t have gotten then. I could literally buy a package of bacon from Safeway for $ 2.50. I figured I’d support this local business but never again, thanks for price gouging me?

Cheeeaaaaap! If I’m not mistaken, this place used to be on Mission. The day before I wanted to go in, they up and moved. Flash forward a few years later, and I’m walking by on my way to the bank, and I’m STARVING. This really hit the spot. The woman working there was very friendly telling me what i «needed» on my sandwich and what really wouldn’t work(no jalapeño on the pastrami). The toasting is a nice touch. Oh and my three meat + cheese + veggies was less than $ 5.50. No jalapeño though.

have to admit, the best sandwiches in the Excelsior is still Roxies, BUT since they aren’t a sit down place, Deli World would be #2. The lady behind the counter is VERYNICE and very cooperative in what the customer wants. The teriyaki sandwiches are the best even though they are pre cooked and have to be warmed up a bit. A better touch than Subway down the street that all sandwiches are heated up in the old fashioned oven. nothing really jumps out at ya. regular cut onions, lettuce, tomato, etc, but just the fact the lady puts the effort in preparing the sandwiches in front of you counts for a lot. the place is always not too crowded either. In short summary, there’s better sandwiches out there but the preparation and service is worth the purchase.

I love this place! My dad used to bring these sandwiches home every day on his way home from work. I finally decided to check this place out on my own. It’s located just a little off of Mission Street amongst some random stores and across from an auto repair shop so parking can be difficult! It’s definitely a mom and pop sandwich/tailoring shop ran by a couple; the lady making the sandwiches and the man running the tailoring business. The sandwiches are cheap and very good! They put this special thousand island type sauce on your sandwiches so definitely get that! Also, make sure you get your sandwich toasted! There is plenty of seating so you don’t need to worry about not finding somewhere to enjoy your yummy sandwich. The people are also very friendly! Definitely recommend!

4.5 Stars. I’d go here every other day if I could. Not daily though, a girl needs to digest fully. Deli World is a cute, clean little sandwich shop with a clothing alteration store built-in, run by a friendly older couple. The sandwiches are consistently well-assembled with fresh ingredients.(Warning: here comes some unsolicited advice!) You live longer by eating only what you need and not by over-indulging, and their Medium is enough for anyone to feel full. Truly. My only gripe is that the cheese is sitting in the same container as the sliced meat. That’s weird to me… Plus they’re closed for dinner and Sundays(sad face). Even if you’re a meat-eater get the Avocado, Cheese & Vegetable sandwich with their special/secret house sauce because it’s mind-blowing! MINDBLOWING! That’s it, I’m going there right now…

Another great sandwich place I’ve found in the outer-Mission District. The Korean husband and wife are really friendly. The sandwiches are top-notch and tasty too at a reasonable price. But the pricing of the extra topping(s), bag of chips and drink were quite high. Now I sound like crying cheap-ass! For $ 6.45, I bought the medium size Atomic Sub(marine) sandwich. The sandwich had slices of Turkey, Pastrami, Ham, Provolone cheese, a drizzle of a mysterious secret sauce and the usual condiment you’ll find in a sandwich. I also requested bacon for my sandwich for another $ 2.00. And I get two slices. I also added a bag of chips for $ 1.50 and a bottle of cranberry juice for $ 2.50. The sandwich was good and tasty. But the other items including the extra topping I can do without. Despite having a good paying job in the city and county, raising a daughter by my lonesome self is not easy and cheap.

This no frills Korean owned sandwich shop(and they also offer alterations — the husband handles the alterations and the wife runs the sandwich shop) feels like it’s been around forever and is similar in style to Sub Center and Gene’s Liquor. Like those two old school sandwich shops, Deli World has a «secret» sauce that tastes like Italian dressing. The prices are really low; small traditional sub sandwiches are mostly $ 3.35. They have your standards like hot pastrami, roast beef, corned beef, mortadella, turkey, ham and salami made with one type of bread(soft, sweet roll) and available in three sizes(small, medium, large). They sell chips and drinks. Thanks to the Korean ownership, you can get teriyaki chicken and teriyaki beef sandwiches. Teriyaki chicken sandwiches go for $ 3.60(small), $ 4.90(medium), and $ 6.20(large). The toasted chicken teriyaki sandwich featured large pieces of boneless marinated chicken(a bit salty and not that juicy, but they use real chicken pieces, not deli slices, big plus), slightly yellow lettuce, onions, tomato, jalapenos, plenty of mayo, and the secret sauce. The roll is a bit crunchy on the outside and soft on the inside. Nice bread to fillings ratio, heavy on the condiments, lots of flavors and textures; everything kinda goes together to make a tasty mess. It looks like they used to serve ice cream but the ice cream case is pretty much empty now. Eat your sandwich, have your clothes tailored, and enjoy the Korean TV programming.

I know that there are some Safeway stores that have a Wells Fargo bank branch inside. But have u ever seen a sandwich shop that has a tailor/custom alterations service inside? Well, this store has one. This little shop is owned by a nice Korean couple, the Kim’s. The wife is usually the sandwich maker while the husband handles the clothes tailoring, but he also helps her if needed. I’ve never tried their clothes alterations service, but the sandwich shop is definetely a winner. The subs are well prepared, cheap and tasty. There are 4 small tables, in case you wish to dine inside. In addition to being an amazing speedy & efficient«Master» sub maker(watch how she slices the avocado in a fraction of a second! chop, chop, chop…), Mrs. Kim is like a walking computer because she can remember the price of every item on the extensive menu. The subs are available in small, medium, and large. I find that the small size(under $ 4, cheap!!!) is equal to what others would consider regular size, so I’ve never ordered the medium or large subs. The pricing for each individual item(ie. $ 3.15, $ 3.35, $ 3.55, $ 3.60, $ 3.80, etc.) is different(too confusing) so I cannot provide you with reference info other than under $ 4. Minus one star for having confusing prices. Please note that they add tax to all TOASTED subs. So you’ll pay a few cents above the posted price, if you ask them to toast your sub(Also note that all the SPECIAL subs are toasted by default). You’ll pay the posted price for all other food items. My favorite subs are the beef teriyaki and the BLT(listed as «bacon and lettuce» on menu). Both in the SPECIALS menu. I like to add avocado(additional $ 1) to the BLT. I assumed that the cold cuts would be average tasting, so I’ve never bothered to try them. Here are my pics: Beef teriyaki small sub — one of my favorites. BLT plus avocado(add $ 1) small sub, my other favorite. Look at the pic, it looks and tastes awesome! Pastrami small sub — the meat is very lean. Chicken teriyaki small sub — average, meh. Meatloaf small sub — light in texture, but bland in taste. You should try their potato salad, it’s delicious! (the menu shows macaroni salad and cole slaw also, but those 2 items have been discontinued) There’s a daily soup special that costs $ 2. ALWAYS either chicken noodle or minestrone. This is the chicken noodle soup: All soda cans are $ 1. Bottled drinks costs a little more. Regular subs menu: #1 roast beef #2 pastrami #3 corned beef #4 turkey #5 ham #6 salami #7 cheese #8 mortadella #9 bologna(only available in large size) #10 tuna salad #0 cheese and avocado There’s also 5 cold cuts«combos»: Submarine, Italiano, Super, Giant, and Atomic. SPECIAL subs menu: — beef teriyaki — chicken teriyaki — bacon and lettuce — meatball or meatloaf(same meat, but meatball has marinara sauce) Ice cream, hot dogs/links are also available. Hours: Mon-Fri 8am-5:30pm Sat 10am-4pm Closed Sunday
