I moved to North Beach in October and the Dell’Uva mac and cheese became a staple for me. I recently came back from a trip and did what I always do, I called in a take out order for the mac and cheese. Only problem was there was no answer. So I went to the restaurant, only to find that it had closed down after eight years. I was crushed. Just before I sat down to write this, I found a frozen portion of an old mac and cheese order — I will savor every bite! Dell’Uva, you will be missed! And good luck with any future ventures you pursue.

they have wines for $ 7 and beers for $ 5 so you can sit and drink while waiting for your reservation at sotto mare across the street.(an hour an a half in our case).

This place is the best. They have the best pizza, the best cheap wine, and the servers(when they’re in a good mood) are always friendly. I used to come here just about 3x a week when I lived in North Beach. As I have spread my wings, I haven’t been able to come back as often. But seriously, for pizza on a budget? So good. Also their wine is cheap. Did I mention that?

Heinous. Disgusting service followed by a $ 5 per card service fee on the check. My first and only Unilocal review — Used to(key word *used*) come here with my friends as a local catch up spot, like, our fav — until tonight. Asked server for a menu was a) mocked by a «no» and b) was finally brought a drink menu — no food menu(after multiple requests!). After many attempts to attain a food menu, one member of our party ordered a pizza from the bar, not a huge deal. Later on, service was *literally*(not a basic b*tch literally-like, seriously) NONEXISTENT and we got pizza from across the street(obviously golden boy) due to the total lack of attention. Sure enough, they(his name was Maguro) had something to say about that(when previously no where to be found) — so we took our business elsewhere. Upon closing out the check, the server(Maguro) informed us that there was a $ 5 charge per card to split the check. For TERRIBLESERVICE(can you even call it service?) with an attitude — by all means, come here. My friends and I used to come here as our go to spot, but, those days are gone. Please give your business to other local bars with hard working employees. I look forward to telling all of my local family, friends, and co-workers to avoid this place. This was my first experience like this here, but obviously offensive enough to never return. Our servers name was Maguro and I am very hopeful that no one ever has to deal with his condescending attitude.

My girlfriends came to town for a lovely weekend of wine tasting. We scheduled a reservation at Dell’Uva to «recover» on Sunday with $ 15 bottomless mimosas. Our Sunday morning and afternoon couldn’t have been any better thanks to Dell’Uva! To be safe I called ahead and made a reservation for our group of 7 about a week inadvance. The waitress was awesome. She was very attentive and brought us pitchers of mimosas right on time. She understood that we were slower than usual because we had spent 10 hours drinking wine the day before. There was no pressure from her to order promptly and she encouraged us to make ourselves at home. NOTE: Dull-Uva does not have a full kitchen. They specialize in light bites and simple dishes. Don’t expect a full menu of fancy dinner/lunch/brunch items. Dull-Uva is primarily a bar. The breakfast pizza is absolutely delightful! It totally helped to bring me back to life! I will certainly be back for a hassle-free brunch that can accommodate a group.

Came here with my boyfriend and his parents to grab some wine/beer before heading over to Sotto Mare for dinner. The set up of the bar was great, outdoor seating with heating lamps and it would have made for an awesome, relaxing setting BUT for some reason they were blasting rap/pop music SOLOUDLY while also playing the giant’s games on the TVs inside. It was like the place can’t decide if it’s a wine bar/club/sports bar/restaurant. Pick one… The waitress was attentive but failed to mention what beers/wines they were out of, which was a bit lazy. All in all, I would probably come back for a glass of wine outdoors during a nice day and I happened to be in the neighborhood, but it wouldn’t be a «destination».

I really wanted to give this place 5 stars but the service wasn’t the best the last time we came, so 4 stars it is. Dell’Uva is right up the street from our place so we like coming here for drinks/brunch. Love the atmosphere of the place, really nice to sit outside when the weather is sunny. I got the breakfast sandwich and my roommate got the breakfast pizza, both were really good. Really nice place to come for mimosas too, they pour like 80% champagne, 20% oj which is A-OK in my book.

I am not really sure what happened to this place. As a North Beach local for over 5 years I used to come here at least a couple of times per week. All of the bartenders and servers were very friendly and welcoming which is why the place was generally always busy. The last few times I have been here the staff has been rude. I would probably equate the emptiness of this place as of late with the vibe the staff give off. It should also be noted that it hurts my heart a little to write a bad review of a place we(we as in most of the locals) used to love so much.

Sigh. It sucks writing this review, as Delluva used to be my favorite place in North Beach. I’ve taken family there, friends from out of town, had an engagement party there, etc and raved about the value, food and atmosphere for nearly 5 years. I was a weekly(sometimes daily, tbh) regular. All of those elements have gone completely downhill in the past few months, since the owner replaced the old staff with a bunch of disengaged assholes with seemingly no food service/wine background, and certainly no background in hospitality. Every time I’ve gone in since the change, I’ve waited 3x longer to order anything, receive it, or pay for it… all while being talked down to or simply ignored. And when the food/beer/wine has come, there’s always been something wrong — either it’s someone else’s order or a lukewarm drink in a dirty glass. In short: thanks to an owner seemingly desperate to turn a profit now that their second location in the Mission failed, prices have gone steeply up while service, food quality and overall ambience has fallen off a cliff. Avoid this place at all costs and head down Columbus to Il Casaro, which isn’t necessarily a wine bar but is brand new with a better menu, a focused wine list and substantially nicer/more inviting staff and atmosphere.

Dell’uva is another spot located on Green St in North Beach, where a lot of my favorite eateries are located. They’re known to be one of the best spots to get Bottomless Mimosas in North Beach. And that’s where I decided to gather with a small group of my friends to celebrate my birthday with those mimosas. Their menu is pretty small with mostly pizzas, and they were pretty good. Serivce was pretty good, though it seems my friends’ pizza order got lost in the fray since it took almost an hour for them to get their pies after having to remind the waitress that they never got their pizzas. Our waitress was very accommodating and she did her best to help us with getting our mimosa pitchers and to get our pizza order fulfilled. I’m pretty sure I’ll be returning to Dell’uva again since I do frequent Green St. a lot. it’s really a great spot to unwind and take a break on their patio with a mimosa in your hand.

Only thing I liked about this place was the prosecco itself, at the window that one hot day. Service(if you would call it that) was next to null.

Charming, small wine and brunch venue place in Little Italian district. Go here in the morning if you want brunch food and bottomless mimosas for a good social gathering. Go here at night if you want to enjoy the glowing lights, wine and the intimate atmosphere that this place exudes. Dell’Uva is quite a low key spot. Very charming indeed.

I have been to this wine bar probably three dozen times and I love it because: — Awesome staff that plays fun music(Jurassic 5 at a wine bar? yes please) — Great wine list(weird sh** and classics) — Great atmosphere(outdoor seating with heat lamps, indoor with couches or barstools) — Tasty appetizers and pizzas($ 13 for a large pizza, I love the 3 cheese) — Everything is SO affordable(def a 1 dollar sign place) — All around great place to be One of my favorite places in SF!

Old sckool music… looooove it! It was a gorgeous afternoon having a glass of wine with my sister and a friend. I haven’t been to Dell’Uva in a long while, maybe a year. The staff was nice, the décor is cool and well they were playng 80’s and 90’s music. Great place, for wine and cheese.

Good wines, great location, good casual ambience, yummy foods, but service is seriously spotty. Some servers are nice but extremely forgetful; needing to re-check our orders multiple times, delaying our food and drinks. Some servers are outright rude and snippy. Wish service was more consistent; I’d be a bigger fan

So glad these guys were open! I was drinking all night on an empty stomach, while standing around in three-inch stilettos and famished! We were en route to Park Tavern, which unfortunately closed the kitchen exactly at 10pm, precisely when we arrived. Busted out my trusty Unilocal app and looked around for the closest open place serving food, stumbling into Dell’Uva, right around the corner. Who cares if we couldn’t pronounce it or had no idea what was in store for us and our stomachs. They were over two stars, we were not going to walk any further and they were serving hot food! ! As we walked directly to the bar top we were greeted with a friendly hello and menus placed directly in our hands. Impressive! I was so hungry, I didn’t want him to leave as I practically screamed, «Wait, wait, hold on, what shall we order.?» «What’s the best wine with that?» I could hear how annoying I was, but continued! Any one ever experience that when you’re drunk? I was having a moment of clarity amongst my drunkenness… Poor guy was being held hostage! No not really, but he endured my requests with a huge smile and friendly demeanor. It was refreshing and very polite of him to tolerate. Once again, I found myself wagering with a full blown carnivore who was aware that our eyes were probably bigger than our stomachs at that point. We opted for the Mushroom Pizza(that I can’t seem to find on their menu), and of course the other half smothered in whatever fine meats they had available at that time. As I’m writing this I realize this review is not offering that much guidance with the food and wine choices, but I can assure you, it was worthy of a return. Huge wine selection, knowledgeable staff when it comes to diagnosing your flavor palette and satisfying food if you are on the prowl, late at night, for some worthy grub.

The casual neighborhood wine bar that also doubles up as a weekend bottomless mimosa brunch spot — that pretty much sums up Dell’uva in North Beach. I’ve always liked Dell’uva as a weekday happy hour spot. The outdoor seating is nice for people watching though you should try to get seated under the heater because this stretch of Green Street can be quite the wind tunnel. They used to have happy hour beers but I believe it’s pretty much just wine now. Still, the selection on the regular menu isn’t going to set you back too terribly. That’s the thing about Dell’uva that makes it casual fun — it’s an accessible wine bar that doesn’t try to be snooty. They just want you to have fun so go ahead and order. I like splitting decanters with friends so we get variety. Weekend bottomless mimosa brunches( ) are more about the mimosas than the food honestly. $ 15 all you can drink and they do them by the pitcher here so prepare to drink alot. I don’t think they have a full kitchen and that’s where the food suffers a little. The frittatas stick to the dish and the eggs feel a little light for a frittata(reminds me of a deflated soufflé). The potatoes were under-roasted but were well seasoned. Service can get spotty during brunch because they are typically really busy then. Dell’uva is a wine bar first so come for drink; forgive the food. Once you get those prioritized, you’ll appreciate the charm of this casual wine bar and their friendly staff. They even have live jazz on certain nights now so I’ll be stopping by again soon I’m sure.

This casual wine bar is located across from Vicoletto(my fave Italian resto in SF!) and minimally decorated, save for a couple of wine barrels with cork top tables. There are 2 sofas to the right of the entrance which are much better for your tush than the wooden stools without back support. They have a very short brunch menu, only 4 dishes on it, priced at $ 6.50 each. Get the frittata carbonara with prosciutto, green onions, bell peppers served in an iron pan with home fries. The bf liked his egg benny(only 1 egg!) served atop a brioche toast. The mac n cheese is a bit bland for my taste(really, I did NOT taste the truffle oil at all!) So, for the food, I’d say average tasting but the prices aren’t that bad at all. There were a couple of folks who were imbibing on bottomless mimosas(us too!) and they must’ve known something I didn’t because none of them ordered food. The bottomless mimosas here give you great value for your money: they pour a WHOLE bottle of bubbly into a pitcher, with MAYBE ¼ orange juice. The result? crisp, clean tasting, omg-pour-me-another-one-hangover inducing(and hangover curing as well?) mimosas. I can’t wait to come back JUST for that! Service is superb, the cutie blonde bartender checked up on us couple of times and asked if we needed more drinks. Boy, if it wasn’t Easter Sunday(I had to go to church!) I’d be sure to park my butt here for hours and hours on end. Cheers mate!
