all the responses are years old… decent breakfast the cops seem to like it. closes early…8ish bartenders will cause you to lose your appetite. IF there is 5 people at night THAT’S a real busy night DIVESLOOKDOWNONTHISPLACE

I want to be fair & very clear. The only reason I’m rating this place 2 stars instead of 1 is because I frequented here during the Warriors post season last year & really enjoyed the environment/service. not the case this time around. I decided to treat some of my staff members to some drinks & Warriors basket ball the week before last. I get to the bar around 5pm waiting for my staff. I’m standing at the bar for 8 – 10 minutes waiting for the bartender, no one was around, no biggie. 6 of my employees show up. We walk to the back room(just like we did last year) to watch the game & relax. As soon as we sat down a lady walked in behind us with, what I can only describe as, a very confused look on her face. I asked her if it was okay for us to sit in the back room(the TV is much larger & it’s roomier). The young lady reluctantly replied«Yeah but if you need drinks, the bar is over here.» I felt the comment was unnecessary so I reciprocated the attitude by informing her I was waiting for close to 10 minutes to order a few pitchers. Her response, «Yeah, well I’m here now». Then to top off this entire ordeal She asks«What time does the game even start?», «7:30″ I reply. Get this, she says» well we close at 9:00″. My employees & I stared at each other & said, & I quote, «let’s get the fuck outta here!» This situation bothered me on a few different levels. Not to sound pretentious but I manage a company of roughly 70 employees. We’re a customer service oriented business. One of our company core values is «Customer First». This value is not negotiable, we don’t put the customer first when we’re in a good mood or feel like it. The value is lived every day in our company. We put the customer first, period. I couldn’t believe that someone would speak to a customer the way this lady did. Granted I’m not a repeat customer year round but still you don’t treat customers this way. I ended up taking my staff to Dear Mom, on the corner of 16th& Harrison. I’ve been happily watching the Warriors kick ass at Dear Mom every game.

At a time when everyone is trying to make super fancy burgers/burger experiences, it’s nice to just have a normal old fashioned burger that tastes like you’re at a Sunday grill out. It’s also nice to see people chatting and having a good time, bonding over baseball. This place is the real deal as far as an old fashioned sports bar.

Neat little neighborhood bar with a local following. 8:30PM on Friday night, I was looking for a burger and beer. No go. They only serve breakfast and lunch. Beer selection is OK for a beer snob like me. The place was kind of dead though, which may be because it’s more of a morning and afternoon place. Bartender was friendly, but unattentive, more interested in comiserating with the 3 – 4 local yokels that sat at the far end of the bar. My 1st beer was empty for about 5 minutes before she took some notice, a small tenure in the grand scheme of things, but I expect a little more from a bartender. This is how it goes though with neighborhood bars. If you’re not one of them, you’re basically a walker(walking dead), where you’ll find a crossbow pointed at your head if you raise any kind of commotion. Check please.

Yo this bar is excellent for lunch! Much better than some cafes that are in the city and are overrated. Plus, you can grab yourself a nice beer on tab. The bartender was very nice. Note, they have direct-tv, so they cannot carry the Pac-12 networks, if you’re looking for a particular game on that channel. Not Double Play’s fault, but it has everything to do with tv politics.

I can only speak for their breakfast burrito, but isn’t that all you need to speak on? I’ve been on a breakfast burrito kick the last few days between the neighborhood I work in and the one I live in, but nothing has hit the spot quite like this burrito. Though I do enjoy the picante sauce and even balance of their closest competition in the area, Café Taboo, I can’t get over how many toppings they managed to throw in this burrito without it just feeling like an omelet in a tortilla — I’ll be back… I’ll always be back.

Nice neighborhood bar. Would be 4 stars but the owner recently converted the parking lot to condos. Bully for him and make your money, but now parking sux, so deal with 3 stars. The beer is cheap and cold, the staff is friendly and the breakfasts are awesome. From just bacon and eggs to the outstanding breakfast burritos, this is a go to place for breakfasts. Unfortunately, they stop serving breakfast at 11, and the lunch menu is not so great. Really high prices($ 12 for a sandwich) and so so food. Skip lunch here. Come for drinks, breakfasts or ball games.

I really enjoyed my cornbeef sandwich here but I did get a sense that I wasn’t totally welcomed. Maybe it was because I sat at the bar and didn’t order a drink(I was feeling a sore throat coming on and didn’t want to chance it) or maybe it was because he knew everyone else at the bar besides me. Regardless, I ordered food but the service was very curt. It seems like a very local bar and I can appreciate that. I wish I came earlier because people talk a lot about the breakfast burrito but you can’t order it after 11. I’d come back.

Bar fronted by a Resturant — as tables in the back room clearly allude to a dining«experience» — yet no food is served except for left overs after 6pm(time I walked in BTW) served as… Bar ambience is tepid at best with a bunch of regulars but darn! Disappointing for a block of from a couple of blocks away

Great sports bar and known for their famous breakfast burritos you can get them from 7−11am. I still have not found another spot that has delicious breakfast burritos like they do, so when I am not lazy to get up I like to order for pick up! I like to order my breakfast burrito with bacon, sausage, and avocado. It also comes with ham, potatoes, cheesy goodness and eggs of course! A must if you’re in the area!

Decided after lunch to go someplace different to watch the Giants game. Somewhere close. Ok… DOUBLEPLAY. I haven’t been here in years. Its in the vicinity of the old Seals Stadium so it definately has a lot of sports memorabilia. Bar was pretty packed with die hard Giant fans. Didn’t drink a whole lot but did have couple of beers(Draft). The game was like a roller coaster, many ups & downs but who cares!!! End result – Giants won Game 3. It may not have been pretty but ITSOCTOBERBASEBALL, BABY! Oh didn’t try any food at the DOUBLEPLAY as we were full from lunch. Bartenders ‘fairly’ friendly. Über’d it home. GOOOOGIANTS!!!

The atmosphere there was absolutley great! This is definatley old San Francisco. I would definatley go there to watch any San Francisco sporting event and put a couple back(if i am not working LOL). I had the prawn meal and it was very good. The slad and the grilled veggies were extremely fresh and very apetizing. The sauce that they used for the prawns was light but very flavorful. The service was so, so and they do not serve desert. I am definatley going back here to watch a game off the clock!

Something was just so spot-on about their French fries. Light and crispy, yet not oily at all. It almost tasted like they were baked and not fried, but that’s pretty much blasphemous. I ordered a cheeseburger, and was pleasantly surprised when they asked me how I’d like the meat cooked. And even MORE pleasantly surprised when my medium rare patty came out exactly as described! Most sports bars(at least chain ones, in my experience) always bring out some well-done brick despite what you requested. Because this place is across the street from my job, I have a feeling I’ll be coming back a lot to catch a game and grab a bite. And I’m definitely intrigued by the reviews concerning their breakfast burrito.

I’m not sure where this Unilocal listing gets the word«restaurant» from, as the place I went to this morning specifically said«bar and grill» outside, and was a bar. But there were seats for dining in, and a(reserved) dining room toward the back where some sort of meeting going on– it appeared to be a regular thing, complete with a podium and mic. Perhaps they rent it out for events, I wasn’t really sure. In any case, has a good, relaxed neighborhood-bar feel to it when we went in. As we ate, several police officers came in to grab breakfast and shoot the shit together. Easygoing bunch, added to that neighborhood feel, as everyone seemed to be a regular. Got the highly-recommended-through-yelp-reviews breakfast burrito with sausage– was pleasantly surprised! Hefty size, served with orange slices, and good flavor– packed full of eggs, potatoes, sausage, salsa, and cheese with green onions and possibly a few other veggies. Very filling and tasty, I easily could have stopped at half but BF was chowing down on his own food– the steak and eggs bfast. I tried a bite of the steak and thought it was okay, BF inhaled it along with his sunny-side-ups and side of potatoes. I barely managed to finish ¾ths of the burrito after BF took a few good bites, also agreed it was good. Never would have expected this decent of a burrito from a bar, of all places. Then again, thats great marketing– anyone who was there last night and woke up with a hangover could just pop back by! Service was good. One bartender, appeared to be another woman helping bring food out and keep an eye on things. Food was all good, they had Pacifico on draft(which I sadly was not allowed to drink at breakfast before my nearby interview), and had fliers up advertising the Snake Bite beer– part lager, part cider, made right here in SF. Gonna have to hunt that down for a taste…

My requirements for a sports bar are simple. Give me a place to sit, price the drinks reasonably, show me the baseball and leave me alone. I’ve been in this place before when it was crowded, but even then I found a place to sit. Last night was the best though: Four screens with the Giants game on them and the Cranky Old Bartender(let’s just call him«Cob» from now on) had no objection to one of them showing the A’s game, provided I could tell him what channel it’s on. I didn’t know. «You don’t know? What kind of sports fan are you?» The kind who doesn’t have a TV, otherwise I’d be home watching the game. Fair enough — he hands me the remote so I can figure it out myself. Because clearly he can’t. «They got so many things programmed in there — you do it.» I do. Only five people in the place total — so quiet I can hear both games being called. I order a vodka tonic. He says OK. I say«mostly tonic though» and he nods. «You gonna order one drink at a time?» «Is there a discount if I order in bulk,» I ask but I don’t get the answer because the phone rings and Cob grabs it. He says cranky things to the caller, hangs up, turns around and says to me «Guy wanted to know if we were watching the Olympics… only he has his girlfriend call for him. Because he’s smart — see? He knows men would rather talk to women. But I can hear him in the background, telling her what to say. So I said ‘Let me talk to the fella next to you: No we are not watching the Olympics!’ Goddamned cowards,» he concludes while mixing me a vodka tonic that is half vodka and half tonic. It takes me seven innings to finish it but he doesn’t push me to order another. When my glass is finally empty, I ask for a short glass of tonic only, just so I’ll have something to drink and not feel like a freeloader. He gives it to me on the house. By the end of the ninth, it’s just me, Cob, and one other guy, Cob having locked the front door around 9:45. I do believe he would have stayed open for us until the Giants game ended, but the A’s went into extra innings first so I tipped well and said goodnight. New favorite(weeknight) sports bar.
