I found my apt through Dowd at a good price. Their rep, Mandi, was super nice and responsive. The building manager of my apt, Jeff, has always been extremely friendly and courteous. However, I must say Dowd needs to get with the times. For 5 years, they only accepted mailed in checks for rent. For 5 years, they never shared an email address with me or switched to an online payment /direct deposit system. The only way I could reach them was by snail mail or phone, either through Mandi’s cell or their one office line — pretty slow responses, if at all. Rent increases came yearly through snail mail, prices bumping up at the normal rate. I must say the biggest failure for Dowd, though, is their maintenance accountability. The apt I lived in was over 100 years old, with normal wear and tear things broke. It would take weeks to get repaired or replaced, if at all. Upon moving out, I had a laundry list of repairs and follow ups that needed to be done. Jeff, while super nice, never seemed to have time to actually complete the repairs, and the onsite Dowd handyman Mandi referred, Vincent, only came once to do an estimate and never followed up or came back to do the repair(s). In the end, I lost half my security deposit due to repairs that were never made while I was living there. Completely unfair. Dowd also needs to get an email address — it’s 2015, people.

My building owner switched over to Dowd from RMC and in one brief phone call with Dowd to confirm a couple questions I had the WORST customer service experience of my life! Dowd’s representative was a complete jerk, did not listen to my questions, answered with information that was completely irrelevant, and was all-around rude and abrasive. I could not be more disappointed and will avoid contacting them with questions at all costs. DONOTRENTANYBUILDINGUNDERDOWDPROPERTYMANAGEMENT!
