Bun me. These are great: This might be better: Soft homemade bun packed with slightly spicy organic chicken chunks and cabbage slaw. Homemade honey ketchup was a delicious add. Buns do come layered with an unlisted garlic yogurt spread. Found out when asking about other ingredients. It was good but really should include a mention on the menu itself. Can be eaten as a messy sandwich or with a fork for a little less chaos. Either way each bite was full of unique and impressive flavor. $ 9 plus tax was worth it. Enthusiasm of the founders( ) carries over to the staff at this casual location. Friendly and excited to talk about the food. Me think four stars.

This was a great spot for a Saturday lunch. Go for the tri tip sandwich. Really filling, less than 10, and delicious. Very good value and friendly service. Definitely going back again soon.

Didn’t love the dusty bun chicken sandwich that I had(this was a few months ago). Bun was soggy and had no resilience It was almost like a potato roll or a hawaiian sweet roll and fell apart too easily. The portion wasn’t great in size, but the flavors weren’t stellar enough to leave me satisfied.

I visited Dusty Buns over at SoMa StreatFood Park one day and tried their Duck a La Mac because it really caught my attention when they posted a pic of it on their Facebook page. So this review is strictly based on that. Duck a La Mac – Duck Confit, Community Grains Fusilli, White Cheddar Béchamel This was a very solid take on mac n’ cheese. The duck had a nice smoked flavor and added a lot of flavor to the mac n’ cheese. I’m not sure if they have this regularly on their menu since it was kinda off to the side without a picture, but I hope they keep it on. It makes for a great side dish, snack, or even for a good meal for small eaters. That’s all I can say about Dusty Buns for now. Big fan of their Duck a La Mac. I’ll make sure to follow up with update once I try their sandwiches which all look really good.

Great potential. Fresh ingredients. . The chicken sandwich I had was stupid spicey though. I LOVE spicey food and eat at Shalimar at least twice a week. I love habanero sauce. However there is such a thing as too much spice. It kills the flavor. It prevents you ftom enjoying the meal. I cant imagine toi many if any people enjoying the spicey chicken sandwich here. If they say they do they are lying and trying to act tough. Shame cause the potential is huge if they just understood balancing flavors.

If you are vegan, there are a few menu items that can be made vegan. The staff is super accommodating. We had the Veg Out sans cheese and the Dusty Buns with ancho chile tofu in place of the standard chicken. The buns are vegan, and both sandwiches were great. We also got the snap pea fries — not sure if the dressing is vegan, so we didn’t dip. The snap pea fries were awesome without it.

Quickest Unilocal review. I’m from Fresno and was able to be a part of the beginning of the gourmet food truck movement. Dusty Buns pretty much started the revolution and set the bar high. The owners are amazingly genuine people. I remember them having Baby Dusty bun back in Fresno, such a cute baby. I moved to SF two years ago and in the blink of an eye they are now in The city. They evolved into a bistro in Fresno which is amazing as well. The owners have an interesting story meeting each other and falling in love and in food love. You will not be disappointed with this hipster food truck. So happy to see them grow to SF! Dusty Bun… and breakfast bun… fucking do it! O and the sun tea! Amazing!!!

Wow! I know food trucks are pretty expensive nowadays. I tried the Fort Mason Off the Grid in the past and for me less than a handful was really and good that would give you the“Wow factor”. I was surprised how well Dusty Buns Truck looked and clear photos of their burgers was just too temping to ignore, so I decided to take a chance on the burger. I didn’t Unilocal ahead of time when I stopped by here to explore the trucks here. Wow! I could really taste the fresh quality ingredients and high quality of meat. I can safely say, if I come back here again, I would go directly back to Dusty Buns! Another yummy work of art in my tummy!

I was looking a little lost, wondering which truck to eat at — decisions, decisions! — when a guy passing by pointed to Dusty Buns and said, «That’s the truck you’re looking for, believe me!». So I took a chance on the Bistro Burger — it was one of the best I’ve ever had. Most hamburgers are ‘samey’ and don’t have much character. This is the case for others I’ve tried at the same Soma Streat Park(Oui Chef, Me So Hungry, BaconBacon), which I found to be just-ok and overpriced… frankly, they don’t hold a candle to what you get at In n Out for less money. But Dusty Buns is playing at a higher end level(and is superior to burgers I’ve had at fancy restaurants, like the $ 18 burger at Spruce). The organic ingredients have that ‘farm fresh’ California feel… the meat is grass fed and juicy(I order medium rare, which helps!). The bread is deliriously soft and apparently made from scratch by them. There’s a sense of cuisine that results in an interplay of textures and notes — from the sharp cheese, to some special ketchup and an aioli they seem to use, to mushrooms and crispy garlic. It’s inventive, leaving you with a satisfied«that hit the spot» feeling. I think the mushroom isn’t standard, as they advertise the burger with ‘market fixins’, so the toppings change… which is not a bad thing. I hate sounding like a paid shill, but I love Dusty Buns and will be back to feast on more burgers… often.

Went to the SoMa StrEat Food Park for Octorberfest games and walked the entire ring of food trucks before choosing Dusty Buns. The grilled cheese looked to awesome to pass up. I have to say it was the single greatest grilled cheese sammie I’ve ever eaten. Ever. And I love my grilled cheese. Perfect«dusty bun», quality gruyère, thick cut bacon cooked crisply, all balanced with thin slices of green apple. Also ordered a side of home-style fries with honey catsup. Would’ve given a 5 star rating but the taters were a bit on the heavy side– too much oil for me. But a few bites went great with that brilliant sandwich! Excellent location that day, timely service, clean and appealing over all :) Def recommend!

I went to a Unilocal Elite Event at the SoMa StrEat Food Park and Dusty Buns was participating by giving us free sample plates. Of all the food trucks we tried(there were nine giving out samples), Dusty Buns was the winner of the night! And the server was super enthusiastic and nice. It was cute that he had pictures of his wife and kid around the truck — it really gave you a sense that this was his passion and his whole family was part of it. * Fresno Chili Chicken & Cider Cabbage Slaw(on a handmade bun) — 4.5 stars pic: Wow, best slider bun I’ve ever had! They’re right to boast the handmade bun thing, because they are heavenly, scone-like in texture. The meat was tender and was bursting with flavor, and though I’m not usually a fan of slaw, this was pretty fresh cabbage and added a big refreshing crunch to the slider. Menu:

Had the Dusty Bun slider last night at a food truck event in Sacramento. When I first saw the sandwich I was a little disappointed– for $ 8 it looked small. But it had much more meat on it than I thought, and man, it was good! The chicken had an amazing Fresno chili flavor, the slaw was crispy and delicious, and I could tell the bread was fresh and homemade. There was some kind of yummy creamy sauce on there too. The only complaint was that I had to eat it with a fork– the bottom bun was too soggy to pick up. Still deserves five stars in my book, I’m so glad I got this sandwich!

Choose this trailer when I was in the area to stop by Costco and in the mood for breakfast past breakfast time. I went up to order an Eggman sandwich and was disappointed to find out they were out of eggs — but they had someone en route to deliver new eggs and said it would just be a few minutes. It turned out to be precisely 2 minutes, and so worth the short wait. The Eggman is filling, very flavorful, and definitely scratches the itch of a late breakfast. I also had the Fresca to drink. I liked it just fine, but I am not sn expert in such drinks so I couldn’t compare it to anything. It hit the spot. Only thing I can think to complain about is the price, which is perhaps a little high, but far from outrageous or out of line with the other food trailers in this lot.

Size matters. I had the burger here at SOMA Streat Food and for $ 8, it was just a tad bigger than a slider.(Meanwhile, Oui Chef across the street was selling real sized burgers for $ 9 – 10.) Also, a side of fries of fried snap peas was $ 5 and at least judging from other peoples’ orders, those portion sizes were also small. The burger was also unimpressive in terms of flavor. The homemade buns were nothing special, not particularly flavorful or memorable in terms of texture — just soft all around. The meat was very well done and not very juicy. The«market fixins» was a heap of mashed avocado which was the best part of the burger, along with 5 ½ arugula leaves. Yes, I counted. But the worst part: The burger was topped with bits of burnt fried garlic — so with every bite, all I could taste was an unpleasant burnt flavor. Couldn’t taste the cheese, couldn’t taste the refreshing avocado… just burnt garlic. I appreciate their use of organic beef and local ingredients. I just don’t like to be fooled into buying a slider when I’m looking to get a full meal. Just charge $ 10 and increase the portion size, or call it a slider. And I really don’t like being served burnt bits of garlic. It overpowers and ruins the flavor of the rest of the elements, and ruins my appetite.

Dusty Buns makes their own buns and creates cafifornia style sammies using local meats, and produce. menu: veggie, burger, chicken, … eats: bistro burger(8) -«organic beef, american cheese, market fixins» small beef patty bloody red, not juicy, slice of cheese –toppings of quac sauce and celery –interesting but not wowed –portion small, little bigger than a slider 3,5 stars.

Welcome to SF, Dusty Buns. And welcome to my mouth. The interwebs(and the person staffing the truck) says that they have just gotten started in SF, having built a following in Fresno with both a brick-and-mortar location and a food truck. We found them at SoMa Streatfood today, including both a truck and a Dusty Buns jeep, and asked what to order. We were told, without hesitation: «the Dusty Bun,» and the burger or grilled cheese. We choose the Dusty Bun and the burger(having seen an epic photo of the brie plus mushroom burger in their Twitter feed, yes I really did research this). Deets: — The Dusty Bun is a grilled, seasoned chicken sandwich with a bunch of tasty toppings and some magical somewhat creamy sauce. I don’t think the chicken was fried but it was delicious anyway. Fans of AGT’s Falkor might find this one familiar, if much simpler and easier to eat. — The brie /mushroom burger. Now, I don’t usually like my burgers well done(and I forgot to ask for it otherwise) but this was juicy and awesome anyway. There were generous portions of cheese and(what I think were chanterelle) mushrooms which were the stars. Oh right! They served everything on their trademark«truck made» dusty buns — super soft and fresh. Total $ 18 including a cup of iced tea.
