I came by to get my roots touch up a week before my friends wedding and Gary was very careful to make sure that my hair looked great for the wedding! I was so glad Gary told me that my hair was burnt from my hair dryer, I had no idea why my hair was kind of coarse at the top!(changing my hair dryer since I can’t clean the filter on my old hair dryer)
Daisy was there to double check on my hair and she did a wonderful job making sure the bleach was evenly applied on my roots and she has a wonderful technique in drying my hair faster, which also made me giggle from it.
My hair looks great and even nicer than the first time since my first dye job was interfered by my previous dyeing using the manic panic hair dye.
Gary is always there for his customers and will offer any advice you need via text if you’re a busy person!

I’m a die-​hard fan of Gary and his team.
I wanted to go Ice Blonde from a box-​dyed dark brunette and every time I walked into a salon, they told me they couldn’t do it (flat out), and I believed them. When I messaged Gary I had almost given up on getting to ice blonde. but he responded right away and we planned out my new hair color via text. He and his team spent 2 ENTIRE DAYS working on my hair to get it the color I wanted. and with literally… NO DAMAGE. Gary uses Olaplex, which is a great product that minimizes the effects of bleaching. but most salons don’t use it because it’s difficult to use the ratios effectively and because it has a much longer processing time. Again, Gary spent days on my hair. I’ve had colorists before who refuse to do a second processing because they have another appointment. If you want ice blonde, platinum hair, regardless of your current color. you can’t do better than Gary. He works meticulously and tirelessly on your hair like its a work of art.
~6 months later, my hair is healthier than it was before I came to Eclipse and I can’t go anywhere without getting a compliment on my hair.
I recently went back to ombré my roots and again I was astounded. Gary understood exactly what I wanted and gave me a cut and color that could rival most high-​end LA salons. I know ombré /​sombre is a hard one to pull off and there aren’t many people in this city who can do it well. so if you are looking for a nice soft fade, I can recommend Gary highly.

Frani is awesome! I’ve been getting my hair cut by her for almost two years. She always does a great job with attention to detail. I’m a dude and go here because it’s such a step up from those quick cut places. She actually spends more than 15 – 20 mins. Plus it’s not that much more expensive. Never been disappointed.

Would have rated this salon differently if it weren’t for their excellent customer service. Got balayage from here that first turned out nothing like I wanted — my whole head was dyed red rather than just the ends being a subtler blond! I wrote directly to the owner Gary and he quickly responded and offered to fix my hair free of charge. Came back and he did as promised, completely changed my hair to what I wanted free of charge. Really happy with how the salon immediately owned up to the mistake and offered whatever they could to make a customer happy again.

I’ve been coming here for 10 years. Gary is the best, perfect cut every time.

This review is for a Balayage touch up. I just moved to SF and was looking for a stylist who could make my hair as natural looking as my stylist back at home and to touch up my roots without it coming out brassy or harsh looking. Gary did an amazing job and my hair came out even better than I expected. He was also incredibly fast. It literally only took about an hour and half from walking into the salon to leaving! People at work commented about how «fantastic» my hair looked as soon as I walked in. I figured since I found Eclipse Salon on Unilocal,I would write a review to help others who are looking for a place as well. I couldn’t be happier and will definitely be back :)

I got my hair cut here and I’m in love with it. I didn’t want to cut too much off, since I’m growing my hair out from a pixie cut but wanted a trim, and they did just that.
The stylists are super friendly and listen to what you want, and are super easy to talk to.
The atmosphere is super chill and welcoming.

Huge Huge fan of Eclipse Salon! They always take care of me no matter who I get my haircut from.
John is the stylist I usually see but sometimes when I need a haircut asap and he is not in that day Gary will step up. Both do a great job and are extremely friendly throughout the process. They ask what I would lik, but are more than willing to give advice if I am not quite sure what I want to do.
The salon is nice, and always clean. They do a really great job!

I made an appointment on Thursday wanting to have a new hair style. The amazing girl on the phone was extremely helpful! I told her I wanted to have my hair colored and maybe a cut. I was booked for it on Sunday @12! I was told to send a photo my my hair and see what they are going to deal with when I go in.
Sunday rolled around and I entered the salon with the same girl on the phone to greet me! She told me to wait a second and John would be right with me but before I sat down, he said he was ready for me. I told him what I want and he listened. I honest just want a change in my hair. He gave me suggestions and told me which would be better. I had no expectations going in so I said, do whatever you want! He told me right in the beginning that the process would be long and I understand that. We decided to do ash blonde balayage!
John explained everything to me and answered all my questions. I felt like a VIP! At one point the salon was just me and another female client, but John focus all on me! The other staffs were all talkative and we had a nice chat! It seriously made the 5 hour process not too bad (can’t say the same for my husband!)
The ending result was amazing! Way better than I expected! I also didn’t expect my hair to still be healthy! He also gave me a trim to help fixed the botch haircut I had at a previous place!
Bottom line:

Ummmm… Gary is a magician. No other words. My colour correction was amazing. He listened to me, paid attention to every tiny flaw and after 5 hours of detailed work he absolutely amazed me. First time here and most definitely will be back. Thank you Gary the Great.

This is a updated review. I wanted to say that my hairstylist Franny recently has outdone her last haircut and style. I have been consistently coming to her for my haircut and have always gotten great style. However, she suggested a new style and I went with it and it is the new look I had been looking for. She shows exceptional creativity and outstanding customer service!!! She is highly regarded among other customers and her fellow coworker. I highly recommend getting your hair serviced with Franny! Thanks Franny and keep up the great work!!!

I am having the best experience here today. John is a great and classic hair stylist.
He reminds me a lot of some of the great and older hair dressers because he really pays attention to the actual design of the cut.
This is a lost art today and if you are a professional woman who wants a cut and color that goes with YOU and your personality and lifestyle this is the guy to go to!

Gary is the man. In fact, everyone working at this salon is amazing. I hadn’t had my hair done for probably a year and found Eclipse randomly on Unilocal.Went in for ombré and a trim and was blown away.
To be honest, I had been going to a beauty school for the past 4 years, so this was a totally different experience for me. I definitely felt very special and doted on. The service was around $ 240, pricey for me, but I think worth it. My hair turned out gorgeous and natural-​looking. Love it!

Love my hair! Went in for an appointment to get balayage done, didn’t wait at all, my appointment started when it was supposed to. Total price after was about $ 270 due to my reaaaally long hair. Customer service was great, everyone was nice. Was unsure about dying my hair again because of a bad experience before, but I’m glad I did. Really happy about Gary, Jon, and Franny’s work on my hair. (-:

So Gary contacted me here on Unilocal.Started off nicely. He then offered me hair products to take down my review. That’s right he tried to bribe me. Four messages later I informed him this was harassment. I finally had to block him and reported him to Unilocal.Didn’t help change my opinion of your salon. Seems desperate and trashy. Get it together the salon is still poorly run unorganized and totally unprofessional. Pull it together Gary. Every time I walk past still looks cramped and dirty. Not worth 65 $ for a haircut.

You will need to come in with an appointment for sure. I came in to get a baylage and everyone is right that Gary is the best at what he does. He really listens to what you want and is reassuring with his follow through. Gary did a great job with the coloring and cutting which costs me about $ 230. He really does take care of his clients and makes them comfortable here.
