Great veggie food. I wish they didn’t close down during the day– check the hours before you go. They have quality soups, noodle dishes, fake meat, and appetizers. My favorite dish was the vegetarian duck appetizer. I have no idea what duck tastes like but this was a savory tofu-mushroom dish. Recommended!

This Chinese food is delicious and all vegetarian! I enjoyed the«cuddlefish» and some«spare ribs.» The service was very fast and friendly! Definitely recommend.

The food was delicious, as always. =) A delight for vegetarians. We had the Kung Pau Chicken(best dish of the night), Twice Cooked Pork, Roasted Duck and were given complimentary Sesame Balls. We also got prompt and polite service.

Solid vegetarian restaurant. Always so surprised how meat-y everything is. Service is not spectacular but it gets the job done. No lunch specials on the weekends. Would recommend for vegetarians and meat eaters alike. Also – they are pretty skimpy on rice and charge by the bowl.

The chicken nuggets were amazing! The spinach fried rice with pine nuts was delicious. The eggplant with green beans was ok, not super flavorful and greasy. Looking forward to trying a few more dishes

CNN Travel named Enjoy Vegetarian Restaurant as one of the top 50 Chinese restaurants in the country! M-F from 11am to 2pm there is a lunch special for $ 9.99 that includes an entrée with brown or white rice along with a spring roll. Complementary tea is served yet didn’t have it as I avoid caffeinated beverages. Enjoy Vegetarian Restaurant is the second all vegan Chinese restaurant I’ve been to recently in San Francisco’s Chinatown. The biggest challenge here is too much choice as there are 50 items to choose from for the lunch special & all of them are vegan so it is truly a vegan heaven! One of my favorite things about Enjoy Vegetarian Restaurant is that the menu has pictures of each of the entrees so this gives you a good sense of what you order. I’ve often gone to other restaurants & what I think I’m ordering turns out to be something quite different. I decided to order– L37 Kung Pao Tofu w/Pepper & Broccoli宮保豆腐 As the picture menu showcased this entrée had lots of broccoli & bell pepper which was what I wanted along with a good amount of tofu. The Kung Pao Tofu entrée also comes with peanuts. The Kung Pao Tofu was listed under the spicy section yet didn’t find it that spicy yet the flavor was great & you can always ask for it to be more spicy. If you want more of kick there is hot sauce on the table to make it more spicy yourself. Portions here are hearty so bring your appetite or bring a friend to share or bring your own tupperware to take home leftovers. Eating lunch here will give you some plant powered fuel to conquer the surreal epic hills nearby that makes San Francisco so famous & fun to explore. Also worth checking out nearby is the oasis in the city & one of my favorite bookstores on the planet«City Lights Bookstore» which is just a four minute walk away. I look forward to returning to Enjoy Vegetarian to try out some more of the 50 entrees. You can almost come here once a week for a year getting a different entrée each week!

This is a good place to go with several people so you can eat family style and sample several dishes. The individual dishes are too pricey to order several things for one person. I would go for lunch for their special which is about $ 10 for rice, entrée and spring roll. I got the mapo tofu which was advertised as spicy but wasn’t really, and honestly not that good. Next time I want to try the pine nut rice! Service was great.

This is a great place for all the vegetarian and Non vegetarian. I have been here many times and finally got the chance to write reviews for them. I am not a vegetarian but I really enjoy their food and I would bring my vegetarian friends here and they enjoy it as well. Food: My to go would be their spinach pine nut fried rice: DELICIOUS!!! MUSTGET!!! their egg plant with tofu sauteed with basil sauce is fairly good too. chicken with taro over coconut sauce is very tasty too. the texture of their chicken and flavoring its very close to be real chicken. Kinda fool me a little. had their mongolian beef once and it was quite tasty. i forgot the name of it and it was serve in the bamboo basket and it was ok. not the best. don’t think i would get it. there are more to name but I have to say they are all fairly good. Service: its good, but can’t be little slow. Beware they do get pretty busy during lunch rush. atmosphere: very cozy feeling and roomy. Their décor is fairly new and modern. its a nice hang out spot during lunch. I just wish my lunch break is longer so i can just hang out there.

Would recommend if you love meat because their fake meat is so alike, you could not distinguish the difference! Really loved the lotus, pumpkin, and coconut cream– all worked really well together! The string bean and eggplant was great too but a little bit too oily– the rice will balance it out! The free eggless spring rolls were to die for! Oh and I would not recommend the medicine soup!!! It tasted horrid, I really didn’t want to waste it but I just could not stomach it in– it tasted so bizarre!

For those who complain about lack of flavor, I disagree and think Enjoy uses just the right amount. The gluten, mushroom, tofu and vegetable dish was perfectly prepared, with pillow-soft tofu, a medium-bodied yet delicate sauce, and crunchy carrots and broccoli. This dish was the star of my meal and easily earns 4 stars. However, I ordered that dish only after the other dishes oddly came out one at a time and I wasn’t able to truly have a meal. The sticky rice dumpling was simply a version of bah-san that tasted okay, but was rather dry(perhaps overheated in the microwave). It would have been more enjoyable if it really was freshly steamed. The nicely flavored veggie duck seemed quickly heated in the pan, as well. I did arrive near closing time, but it was a good hour beforehand and these dishes just felt like«day-old» offerings. The steamed veggie dumplings were obviously freshly steamed and looked good; however, I couldn’t eat them once I realized there was celery inside. I barely took a bite of one; I’m terribly allergic to celery — as in stomach-churning vomiting kind of allergic without even having to taste it. The waitress looked understandably annoyed and I said it wasn’t her fault, but the bill came with dumplings still being charged to me. Since I’m staying in a hotel and attending an all-day conference tomorrow, I wouldn’t have been able to carry it around all day and then reheat at home even it didn’t have celery in it. Overall, the food didn’t make up for the typical unfriendly Chinese restaurant service, and I left very unimpressed.

Meh. I’ve experienced better hence the 2 stars. The crispy chicken was good, but it was not mind blowing. I had the garlic knots and I absolutely love bean curd, but the dish all together… tasted like mush. It tasted like baby food or food that someone chewed and then decided to spit out and wrap in bean curd. It was very bland and the texture was so gross. I will not be back because I know there is better out there.

So we came here after having a terrible dimsum experience at Golden Eastern dimsum around the corner and it was seriously the highlight to our dimsum experience at Golden Eastern because otherwise I would have gone home cranky and hungry. The restaurant is extraordinarily clean with cozy lighting and an ambiance that I thoroughly appreciated better than Goldern Eastern. Ordered a few dishes and they were all so yummy that I think I could do this vegetarian thing if I got to eat here every day. With all the chinese restaurants in the area, this place is extraordinarily delicious, will be coming again

I certainly enjoyed this Enjoy vegetarian cuisine. The foods we ordered are promptly prepared. I found their ingredients used are well mixed. Not greasy, which is a plus. Such was a healthy choice.

This a pure vegetarian/vegan serving chinese cuisine. If you are trying to go all veg, or are a meatatarian this place will actually work for you. The mock chicken dishes taste identical to the real chicken ones. If you a pure vegan you’ll be enjoying the same veg dishes you’d order at any chinese restaurant but without any possibility for cross contamination. The décor is more sophisticated then many other chinese style resturants, however it’s dangerously close to being ticky tacky. the staff are spot on, to the point of being over attentive, but that’s better then being ignored. I’d say this is one of the better all vegetarian restaurants in the area, and is perfect for new vegetarians or mixed groups vegetarians and non vegetarians needing a group dinner.

After reading some of the negative reviews I was pleasantly surprised by how much I enjoyed Enjoy. The steamed dumplings were so fresh and flavorful. Beef and broccoli also had a lot of flavor, though I found the«beef» to be lacking in texture. And the house spexial chow mein was perfect! Some reviews said there is limited vegetables here and while I find that to be true to many Asian restaurants, I thought they had a nice selection of fresh veggies. You will see on the menu that they don’t use any garlic or onion and we were fortunate enough to have the owner of the Enjoy chain serving us and she explained that Buddhist don’t use them because it causes heart burn and other stomach issues that intefere with meditation and daily activity. For not using some of the most widely used ingredients for flavoring this food is so delicious!

Klang vielversprechend, zahlte sich aber im Geschmack nicht aus. Die Curry Soup war mit zwei Pepperonis markiert, schmeckte aber wenig scharf sondern eher wässrig wie der Tee, der kostenlos gereicht wurde.

Not that many places do chinese style vegetarian dish. We spend our Friday night at this restaurant. It wasn’t packed during our stay. We tried several dishes: 1) fried taro — too dry, not much flavor 2) assorted appetizer — I recommend this one, you would get a variety of starter. If you like any of them, you can order more. 3) beef stew and lamb stew — they are essentially the same«meat», not much flavor and quite chewy 4) house fried rice — quite oily and salty I probably wouldn’t repeat, I would try another vegetarian spot. They don’t offer stamp for the portsmouth parking garage at this restaurant =(

I’ve been here a few times since it’s close to my office. The food is not good nor innovative. I must have had over 5 different items from the menu and they have basically the same veggies(chopped carrots & celery, frozen peas, etc). I’m still on the hunt for a great vegetarian restaurant that serves hot food(and not starchy pasta, rice, etc).

Vegetarian shark fin soup, faux chicken nuggets, and round after round of beer on Christmas day make Enjoy the ideal place for a girl’s night out for my bestie and I. Enjoy Vegetarian knows how to do it up and what better way to celebrate the birth of the Messiah than with a meatless outing with my bestest? Ok, just kidding about the messiah part. There’s no religion in my life but we did for sure enjoy celebrate having the day off work, even if it did involve the union of Church and State. Enjoy is more of a no-frills than flashy place but it gets the job done and the menu will surely have you torn between several items so I’d recommend going with a friend or two and going hard on the sharing. My bestie and I are both kiving a no-meat lifestyle so having sucha large and veg-exclusive menu felt luxurious even though the ambience here ranks only slightly above hole in the wall. We split a few things, including the… ** Vegetarian Shark Fin Soup — which was pretty tasty and perfect when loaded with my favorite diner-style table pepper. ** Veggie Potstickers — we both agreed we could have eaten 3 more orders of these. Delish and great for sharing. The portion is more than fair, though the size of the potstickers overall is on the smaller side. ** Veggie Chicken Nuggets — I mean, they didn’t round out a balanced meal or anything but we’d had a few beers by this point and the not-chicken nuggets were everything we could have dreamed of and more. Service was pretty on point for how busy they were and I loved that no one tried to wish us a merry Christmas because it’s absolutely my least favorite holiday out there. Our bills was under $ 30, even with alcohol and hot tea, so it was a nice wallet-friendly nightcap for my fellow penny pincher friend and I.

I let my sister choose where to eat lunch one day and she mentioned Enjoy Vegetarian Restaurant. I was hesitant about eating here because at heart, I am a carnivore but I have nothing against veggies and am always open to trying new foods. I checked out the Unilocal profile as well as their website and saw that they offered a variety of dishes, including many with meat substitutes. After seeing photos, I wanted to try the«chicken» drumsticks for sure. We came on a weekday at around 11:45am and there was only one other customer. The restaurant felt clean and bright. We sat at a four-person table but the waitress asked us to move to a two-person table, as she did with other single and couple customers. Moving was no problem but I was assuming the restaurant was going to get very busy yet by the time we left about 45 minutes later, I would say only half of the restaurant filled-up. A group of 8 folks came in so if you’re interested in visiting with lots of people, they can accommodate larger groups. We indeed ordered the drumsticks to start. I decided to order the won ton noodle soup with veggies and veggie«ham,» and my sis ordered the braised«spareribs» with daikon and other veggies. The lunch dishes each came with a basic veggie spring roll but I was a bit concerned because my spring roll was straight cold and old, and my sis’ spring roll was hot and fresh out of the fryer. Despite this, I have to say that all of the food was flavorful. The veggies were fresh and I really enjoyed the braised daikon which was so tender. The«meats» were as meaty as could be in light of they fact that they weren’t actually real meat. The ham in my soup was smoky and the drumsticks and the spareribs had meat-like texture in which they would shred as if you were biting a real piece of chicken or rib. Overall, I found that the food was satisfying!

I came in roughly 10 minutes before they were closing for lunch with the intent to order takeout. But the gal that initially greeted me invited me to dine in if I chose to. That was really sweet of her to offer but I had a few people in tow: the meateater BF, my meateater auntie, and meateater mom who was taking bites of a meaty pork bun when we walked into this vegetarian restaurant which clearly has a «no meat» sign on the front door. Imagine my embarrassment. So the BF politely scooted my mom and auntie outside for a walk while I waited for my food. Even though they were about to close, the gal never made me feel rushed. I asked for recommendations and the gal spent some time looking at the menu with me offering great suggestions. Even the patrons who were finishing up their dine-in lunches were friendly to offer suggestions! There was one particular employee who did rub me the wrong way. Call me overly sensitive but sternly yelling«HEY!» at a customer is not a very polite way to catch someone’s attention. Luckily, the friendly gal that took my order was the same gal that delivered my food and I left on a good note. She was even sweet to point out that I was given a Veggie Spring Roll which is included with the lunch special: Per her recommendation, I ordered the Kung Pao Soy Chicken with red bell peppers, large chunks of broccoli, and peanuts in a spicy chili sauce with brown rice. Tasty tasty stuff! I liked the bit of kick in the sauce, the fresh al dente-ness of the broccoli, and the equal amounts of soy chicken to vegetables. For this $ 8 lunch special, it was good portion size. Since I couldn’t finish, leftovers made a great meal for later. Definitely a fan! I plan to return and check out more menu items :)
