I ordered the BBQ chicken sandwich and it was quite yummy. I am really particular when it comes to breads and so other Vietnamese shops, their breads are too hard and crunchy. This one was just right. It had a crunch and it was soft. It went really well with my sandwich. The lady who made it for me too was super sweet and nice.

What on earth is the smell between 9th and 8th ave on Clement? It’s definitely not a bad smell. Every time I walk by this small bahn mi place, it smells amazing. I usually have breakfast with my mom and her friend so I would purposely walk on this side of the street just to get a whiff of the fragrance. I was never a bahn mi fan as it didn’t seem worth the $ 7+ but I noticed Eternal Springs’ cheap prices from a menu you can see just right outside. All their sandwiches are $ 5 and under. I’m a sucker for under $ 5 foods. Today I finally decided to give their bahn mis a try. I ordered their BBQ pork combo and BBQ chicken banh mi to share half of each with my sister. When I entered, I was greeted by the lady owner in Cantonese to my surprise. She was very welcoming! As she was making my sandwiches, she asked me if I wanted a drink and it reminded me that I heard great things about their Vietnamese coffee. Unfortunately, I decided not to get anything else as I just had breakfast. Definitely will give it a try the next time I go. She finished making my sandwiches and handed me them with a tip to enjoy it while it’s hot. I could feel through the wrapper that the bread was very crispy. That was a good sign already! I went home and the sandwiches were originally meant to be eaten later on in the day for lunch but I couldn’t resist but listen to the owner even though I just had breakfast T_T. I ate my half of the BBQ pork combo and it was delicious. Like others said, the fillings to bread ratio was perfect; not too much bread, not too little meat and vegetables. For under $ 5, I definitely will be coming back to try their other variety of sandwiches and perhaps their drinks as well. TLDR; Service very friendly, doesn’t get any better than under $ 5 for bahn mi, crispy and delicious sandwich. I recommend this place on clement!

The owners are so nice. I usually get the Pork Combo Banh Mi. It is delicious. All of the different kinds of pork are very tasty. All the fresh and pickled veggies inside are great, and if you like it spicy the jalapenos are awesome too. The bread is good and fresh, and there is the right amount of bread to stuff ratio. My girlfriend usually gets the the Veggie Banh Mi, we both think it is delicious. The tofu in it is very good, and the texture is great. The sauce inside is great too. It also has all the good stuff inside and the bread is the same good bread as listed above. They make good fruit smoothies too. I like the stuff with Mango. They only have 2 tables but somehow we always have gotten a spot. We used to go all the time and we love it. Also, it is incredibly inexpensive. TLDR; The owners are awesome. The food is super good. It is so inexpensive.

I ordered 60 sandwiches from Eternal Springs for a large event. I spoke with May. She gave great customer service, a fair price, and the sandwiches were good. My students liked them! When I came to pick them up, they were already packaged and ready to go. She was also easy to speak and partner with; she considers several things I never thought about, such as some people might not like spicy jalapenos and whether pâté or mayo was better. I appreciated her attention to detail and guidance on the order. I recommend Eternal Springs. I’ll be back again to order here for my future events and also just to eat there!

This is a solid banh mi place. I’ve been here multiple times and always get their sandwiches and spring rolls. Definitely try the combination pork(#1) here, delicious and they put a good amount of pâté. I bread is fresh and crisp and not chewy! The spring rolls are great as well. Prices are cheap compared to other places around the area which charges 6 dollars each for spring rolls and sandwiches(compared to $ 4.50 for spring rolls and under $ 4 for sandwiches here). The service is friendly and efficient.

I love their boba. It is always made to perfection. My favorite is lychee Boba we think coconut milk and jellies. It is best frozen drink in a hot summer afternoon or any time of the year. Grab a barbecue pork sandwich while visiting the café.

The banh mi here are fresh and bread is crisp. The Vietnamese iced coffee are not too sweet and still have the strong coffee taste. I’ll be coming by here for lunch alot since my work place is close by! Oh and the lady is super friendly

This cat wanted to change up the pace a bit and try something new. Walking by this place many times but never give it a try, I decided today would be the day. This place is tiny tiny tiny with three small tables only. Seems to be more of a take out place than anything else. They have an extensive menu of sandwiches and drinks as we’ll as ice cream! I decided on one of the sandwiches and took it to go. So something I need to note. I asked for the sandwich to not be spicy. But when I bit into one half, I bit into one of the spiciest things I’ve ever experienced. I am a cat that cannot handle spicy things, which is why I asked for no spicy. But this was insane! Had me tearing up and sweating like mad u. u The sandwich otherwise was just fine, but the fact it was so spicy destroyed me and made me sad. Service was friendly, but if you are sensitive to spicyness like me, make SURE they maker understands! Yipes! May stop by again for one of their drinks. They have many different and interesting options for the dessert side of drinks and the prices here are much more reasonable than the surrounding drink places. But for now, I soak my tongue in ice cream to heal from the spicy bomb u. u *chirp*

Best bahn mi in San Francisco, hands down! Always delicious, fresh, and the flavors are on point. So cheap for a huuuuge sandwich and the couple that owns are so friendly! They always greet me with a kind smile.

This place is bomb. Don’t believe the(lack of) hype. 5 stars, better believe that. I always get the BBQ pork combo Banh Mi an wifey gets meatball sandwich. Gelato is good, Vietnamese coffee is good. Such a cute couple.

Spring rolls are a hard thing to mess up but equally, it is rare they are perfect. I walked in here hungry as a bear and would’ve eaten anything until I saw someone else order spring rolls. The woman was rolling them up and I couldn’t resist! I am glad I chose the spring rolls because they were so fresh and the sauce wasn’t the usual peanut sauce, it looked house-made and had a different sweetness to it. Anyway, I don’t think I’ve had spring rolls or service this great. The woman was fast, clean and welcoming. If you want affordable, quality and yummy, hit this place up!

Always friendly! AFFORDABLE! Delicious! Freshly made! The don’t overdo anything, not too much cilantro, not too much spice/jalapeño(and they’re happy to leave it out if you prefer). Every sandwich comes on a crispy french bun with pickled cucumber & carrot(and jicama) as well. They’re kind enough to put differently colored rubber bands on the spicy and not spicy sandwiches if you order a bunch! So delicious that I’ve snarfed down all their sandwiches without taking a picture! BBQ Chicken = $ 4.50 BBQ Pork = $ 4.50 Vegetarian(tofu w/lemon grass & avocado) = $ 4.25 They even have a sardine in tomato sauce with pâté = $ 4.25! (and several others) Vietnamese sandwiches are filling yet light, they really hit the spot! I like Vietnamese sandwiches because I can’t eat dairy and a lot of coffee shops like Starbucks put milk and/or cheese in everything. By the way, this shop offers gelato, affogato, and mango sorbet. They aren’t always super fast, it can take up 5 – 10 minutes, but I think it’s worth it. I like to leave them nice tips in the jar by the register. There are places to sit or you can take it to go, which is nice since a library, park by the police station on 6th Avenue & Geary St(btwn Anza), Baker Park, or even head down to Ocean Beach or Golden Gate Park.

My go-to Vietnamese sandwich + coffee place when I’m working around the area. The older gentleman who works there is always so nice and welcoming whenever I come in. I usually order the pork combo sandwich + iced Vietnamese coffee. The sandwich is always good(they don’t skimp out on the pâté!) and I like how he always makes my coffee strong(but sweet enough).

This place is great. Been around for a long time and the owners are so friendly. The lady that usually works there once had a super long conversation with my mom in Cantonese. Today she gave me a refill on my jack fruit milk tea. So delicious and refreshing. Their sandwiches are also really good, but beware the jalapeños they add are soooo spicy. I nearly cried in the laundromat while eating it. Worth it though. Will be back to try the gelato!

Waited over 20 minutes for 2 sandwiches and a spring roll. The lady told me to put more quarters into the meter for her lack of efficiency. Prices have gone up for mediocre vietnamese sandwiches. I encourage you to go elsewhere. Rant over.

This is a hole in the wall type place and I love it. They have real Vietnamese Sandwiches here(Banh Mi) and none of the fru fruness.(Can I coin that term?) They toast the baguette and make it to order(like extra jalapenos!) So good! Price is reasonable and they also have smoothies and ice cream there. There’s only 2 tables that seats 2 so sitting room is limited.

I had the BBQ pork banh mi(spicy) (+) I like to have more veggie than meat with each bite(but definitely with meat each bite) and I would say the meat to veggie ratio here is pretty good (+/-) The size of sandwiches here is pretty large as you can see in the photos, but the bread is really light and airy so I easily finished it without getting full (-) It is pretty salty — 4 hrs later I am parched! (-) Meat quality is eh. Pretty fatty and again too salty (+/-) $ 4.50 for my sandwich. Prices seem to be going up as a lot of banh mi places are in the city (+) friendly service

Being the genius that I am, the last stop I made before heading to SFO to catch a flight home. The idea of airplane box lunches, or airport food court food didn’t sound very appealing… but a banh mi sure did sound righteous. I popped in, got a bbq pork banh mi, hopped in the car and was on a plane within the hour. Here’s the thing… I love banh mi sandwiches, probably more than the next guy. I like em a lot. And this sandwich was a high B, like a B+ on the flavor tip. The meat was tasty, the veggies were crisp and bright with flavor, and the amount of pâté was subtle yet satisfying. I felt like it could have been done a little better though… the bread was a bit too fluffy for me, and the crust was more like an idea of a crust, it was brown. I like a nice chewy crusty french bread style crust, but that may just be my personal style versus the style of this establishment. However, there is one warning I must give. If you’re planning on picking up a sandwich and taking it anywhere, be forewarned that Eternal Springs’ banh mi may be the most fragrant banh mi I’ve ever come across. I wouldn’t say they stink… but their aroma is pungent, and pervasive. Maybe bring a plastic bag to wrap your sandwich up in if you’re taking it somewhere public and not planning on eating it immediately.

They serve tapioca drinks, Vietnamese coffee and sandwiches for the most part. Hole in the wall place and cash only. I got their Thai Iced Milk Tea with tapioca for $ 2.50 and it was alright. I wasn’t expecting much in terms of quality when wanting a drink from here because I was pretty desperate and super thirsty from last night’s outing to a club. This was the closest place to grab a non-alcoholic beverage when we were walking around this area. The drink was lightly sweet and surely helped quench my thirst. Their boba was not bad and simply okay. It was not worthy enough for me to chew them all up and for it to be a part of my daily calorie intake! Almost always, I finish my boba, but I actually didn’t finish all the boba in this drink. Easily overlooked spot. I think I’m going to go on ahead and look at other spots for my boba.
