I stopped by Ever Gold to see Mauricio Ancalmo’s solo show, and was seriously impressed. Not only was the art amazing, the receptionist and gallery owner were so friendly! There was even a classic tenderloin scuffle right outside, where a crazy person started screaming he was going to bring the gallery down and kept trying to enter very aggressively, and the owner handled it like a true professional. It’s a shame the business owners in that neighborhood have to put up with that crap, but it did make the gallery feel like a true diamond in the rough.

Despite the Tenderloin freaks, Ever Gold is a shining star gallery in San Francisco. I’m a fan and collector of Aaron Terry’s work and I fully recommend avid art enthusiasts to take the risk through the TL to see it.

Great gallery in an ignored block of the city. It’s ran by SFAI alumni, so the work they choose to exhibit is always interesting and fresh. It’s much different than your average Geary gallery. Support the young artists!

a lovely art space in the beautiful tenderloin. an auspicious opening and I am hopeful of future displays of mindful art. I look forward to well curated shows that are so desperately needed in this part of town.
I hope the owners never settle for mediocre art, I suspect they won’t.
