Farajian Oriental Rugs Services

Mr. Farajian has picked up my 70+ persian rug for the last 16 years and before that, he picked it up for the woman I inherited it from. He is always timely and seems even faster than in the past. He is not inexpensive and I have always trusted that my rugs were some how getting“extra” good treatment. My rug returned ruined! I am so sad. The light color in the center of the rug is dark, the edge is also not the same color as another edge, the fringe is now gone and some the wool is off. Mr. Farajian denied any responsibility. I was struck by the excuses he gave. He suggested I have his company alter my rug though this lowers the value and when I said this he agreed that it lowered the value. Would he to fix the problem he caused by to the rug by lowering the value of the rug without informing?
I am giving a 2 star because he was timely.

Called at the end of the day. Got a call 5 minutes later with a quote and pick up time for a silk rug that was victim to our sick dog. :(
Service was fantastic. Rug appears to be in tip top shape.
Found Farajian based on Unilocal and absolutely want to continue the positive vibe.

I was looking for a place to get my expensive 9×12 silk on silk rug cleaned and spoke with Mr. Farajian about it. He not only gave me honest advice but an entire lesson in why silk on silk should not be professionally cleaned, as it will permanently lose it’s soft texture. In the end he didn’t even get my business, as he had already advised me to not take the chance with my particular type of rug… but he certainly gets my FIVE STAR PLUS approval rating!
I would recommend this man and his business because of his honesty and knowledge about oriental rug care.
Plus — awesome cusotmer service. He obviously loves his business and really knows how to take care of customers, as those from the East truly know how to do. Well done, Mr. Farajian!

I’m so glad we found Mr. Farajian and we’ll be using his services again for sure. Our rugs came back on time an din great condition, and he’ll even help you position them. Two thumbs up!

This guy rules! He cleaned two rugs for us for $ 100, and was super friendly. Neither rug was anything fancy (or so I thought) — one is a heavy wool shag from Crate & B that had become an insane dust vector and was probably 30% cat fur after a few years in our house. Now it’s shiny, smells nice, and doesn’t release clouds of gross when you move it.
The other was a somewhat grubby estate-​sale find, a contemporary wool Oriental rug. Not only did Mr. Farajian clean it up to be even prettier and more brightly colored than I’d expected, he told me it was worth $ 600! (I bought it for $ 80).
So I spent a hundred dollars, but I feel like I made $ 400! Will definitely call this very nice man again (he also is happy to pick up and deliver, even on a small job like ours).

Let me tell you the story of the Large Predator Piss Rug.
We have this lovely blue oriental runner. It’s about 2.5 feet wide and 10 or so feet long. It has resided at my mothers house for the past 7 years.
Recently I moved into a new place in the city and I now have this hall that needed a runner. My mom decided to bring me a few of the Orientals, the blue one included, but before she did, she decided to wash the blue one. She scrubbed it both sides and laid it out to dry in the furnace that is otherwise known as the outskirts of Phoenix, Arizona.
Some time in the night something large came by and peed on it. It stunk to high heaven, and not all the scrubbing in the world at my mothers hands could get rid of the stench.
She decided to bring it to San Francisco anyway in the hopes that we could find an Oriental Rug specialist up here who might be able to help us.
This is where Vasken Farajian comes in.
Mr. Farajian drove out to my house and picked the runner up with the other Orientals mom had brought. My mother told him she thought a cat had peed on it. He assured us he could take care of it. The price he quoted us for his service on the runner and a large 9×10 was $ 300.00.
About a week and a half later I received a call that the rugs were ready. Mr. Farajian drove them back out and lugged them upstairs.
He then proceeded to help me move entire rooms full of large pieces of furniture in order to get the rugs laid out. he laid out carpet pads and unrolled the rugs with me. Now, I don’t know how many rug people y’all have dealt with, but I’ve dealt with a few, and they always just dumped the rug rolled up in it’s sausage shape and left me to my own devices as far as figuring out how to get the damn thing under the couch or the hutch, etc all by myself. Mr. Farajian on the other hand helped me position and reposition the rugs so the nap was lying the right way, so that the shine was what you saw when you walked in. He then helped me move all the furniture back into place.
He said — «This is all part of the Service» and let me tell you, that, was service.
Then, he went on to tell me that he had not been sure that they would be able to get the smell out of the blue rug. They had to wash it 7 times. Seriously, 7 times. It’s now once again, as fresh as daisy.
When I told him it was probably a Mountain Lion or Coyote that had marked it, he understood why it had taken so much effort.
For this extraordinary effort he added not one cent to the bill.
I can not speak highly enough of his service — how thrilled I am with the way my rugs look and how happy I am that I have a dependable resource to take care of my Orientals.
