Great place to get your basic needs around the house and office. They have a bunch of neat souviners related to San Francisco. Cable cars, to calendars, magents, cool t-shirts and sweaters. They have everything you need for the office too, basic supplies like paper, note pads, pens, pencils, the typical stuff. There is a 20% discount before August because they’re moving to a new location. Take advantage of the savings.

The fiancé and I went inside the store because we saw some Chinese-y outfits hanging in the front. What are the chances that they will have a qi pao for me? We went inside, helped ourselves to going through all the clothes. We found a few long qi paos, nothing 100% authentic, but good enough for me because I was only going to wear it for ½ an hour for our tea ceremony. When I looked at the price, I was happy because it was parcels below my range. When we dug deeper and asked if they had other sizes and colors, we found one for even cheaper. Normally, at a place like this, I would want to practice my bargaining skills, even if I saved a $ 1 or so(it’s moreso for prideful reasons). But seeing as to how a little girl watching an 80s television was manning the cashier and always calling to her mom when there were customers, we just didn’t feel comfortable haggling. In the end, I left a happy woman with a red qi pao, short sleeves, very little altering needed with $ 20 less in my wallet. YES, that’s right… $ 20!!! So if you’re a bride looking for a place to buy a cheap qi pao and don’t really care much for the quality, this would be it. Make sure you ask the lady if they have any other colors or sizes, most likely she has them.

Clement St. to me, is San Francisco’s version of a flea market You’d be surprised what you can find Fivestar Discount Store is a little slice of swap meet. Howdy So we went on a family outing to buy my sibling some unmentionables. Upon entrance, the only person in sight was a 7 year old watching an analog tv under the cash register… So you’re manning the store, but you don’t speak to strangers. Or customers. Ok buddy. (Word to the wise: that tele-box you’re watching is gonna be obsolete in Feb 09 — better get your digital converter little mister) Moving along, this store is like 30×10 feet, but they have approx 7,389 different items including: * an extensive selection of finger/toe nail clippers * tacky slippers that are only street legal on/near Clement St. * 3 for $ 10 bras * cute shower caps
