STAYAWAY !! Bad Service and they will give you an appointment in a month… if you are lucky. Otherwise they wont give you any appointment and you have to call back another day and keep trying and trying just to get the appointment in a month anyway. So if you are sick, get better on your own. They are my primary care provider. l am just like… Really? OH Thank God I have doctor… BS! Very disappointed. I’m just going to switch to another care provider.
Love X.

This place is a life-saver. Now, I’ve only been here once(going back tomorrow) and my final review will come when they have actually figured out what is wrong with me and treated me. But, having been to several medical centers in California since I got since last October, and specifically having seen THREE different doctors at two different clinics owned by Haight and Ashbury Free Clinics and getting treated worse than if I’d gone to a veterinarian, Glide has been God-sent. First of all, the building is not in a good area. It is homeless central. In fact, several floors of the building the Glide Health Center is located are dedicated to homeless services, and many homeless people frequent the building. This will put you off slightly at first, but everyone minds their own business and once you are on the medical center floor, you will feel like you are in a totally different building in a much nicer part of town. The medical center itself is very well-kept, very new, clean, and welcoming. The receptionists really could stand to be replaced and staffed by more caring individuals. I tried to get them to call my previous clinic to get my records faxed before my appointment, and they refused so my appointment was 50% pointless, because of the laziness of the workers. Trying to get them to do anything requiring effort will make them even more pissed off and rude towards you. But, no one goes to the doctor to see a receptionist, so whatever. This health center is run by Practitioner Nurses– there are NO primary care physicians here. At first, this put me off, but in practice, I received much more attention, and much better care than I have from several primary care physicians I have seen. The PN I saw was very thorough, very caring, listened to everything, spent over an HOUR with me, ordered a plethora of tests, and developed some theories about what could be wrong with me that others hadn’t mentioned before. She wasn’t quick to try and tell me I had IBS and to just go home and eat fiber– she wants to make SURE she knows what is going on with me. She also listened to me and what *I* would like to do, and added an extra test at my request. She was very kind, professional, generous with her time, and overall the best health care practitioner I’ve been able to speak to since this whole debacle started. I feel like she will help me, and get me healthy again, and that is the first time I can say that. Glide works with Healthy San Francisco, and you can choose them as your medical home. Be advised of two things: they work with St. Francis hospital rather than General– this is GOOD because St. Francis is a very good, clean hospital with caring staff and MINIMALWAITTIMES. I had a great experience at St. Francis and I will write a review for them shortly. One thing that is slightly inconvenient: prescriptions filled at Glide can only be picked up at the Walgreens inside St. Francis hospital. This is something to keep in mind, but a small inconvenience for possibly the best free care in the city. I will update this review when I have beaten whatever physical condition has kept me ill for the better part of 5 months, but I have a feeling that if and when I do get healthy again, it will be thanks to Glide Health center.
