I’m from out of town but found this place on Unilocal and choose it for the proximity to my hotel. I’m not disappointed! It was pretty quiet for Saturday night on Memorial Day weekend, the service was fast and friendly, the bathroom is super clean, and the sushi is amazing! So is the teriyaki, kimchi rice, and tea. I highly recommend the cherry blossom, it comes with great seaweed salad. If I ever come back to SFO I will definitely come back here!

I ordered Kimchi Fried Rice to go. It was ready on time. They do give you a lot of food(at least for this order). It was quite good. Since this is the only dish I have ever had from this restaurant, I am not able to comment on other dishes. Overall, it was a good experience and I would try this restaurant again.

Not the best Japanese food but not the worst either. It’s one of those places you wouldn’t mind going to but wouldn’t go out of your way to eat there. The prices are reasonable but I didn’t like that the server circled a suggested tip amount on the receipt. I’ve never seen this done before at any other restaurant and I think it was rather rude to impose that kind of pressure on a customer to tip a certain amount.

Just moved into the neighborhood and this is close by. What a great place. Had a simple dinner of a roll and vegetable udon soup. Really really good. And the service was excellent. I was impressed with how busy it was even late at night. Highly recommend trying this place.

Delicious miso and sushi rolls. The restaurant and sushi were not fancy, but the sushi was very fresh. We had a couple of the special rolls(can’t remember what they were called, but one had seaweed salad on top and the other had spicy mayo on top with crab stick on inside. We also enjoyed tuna and salmon sushi and sashimi. The apparent owner/manager was extremely friendly. The service was a little slow; however, we were very happy with our choice and the freshness of the sushi.

Visiting from out of town and staying one block away. The fish was fresh and it the Toro was excellent. Pricey, but what isn’t in this town? We will be back again before we leave town.

I’ve had lunch a few times here and it’s fantastic. The sushi is reasonably priced and very tasty. Also, if you’re «kosher style» you’ll find plenty of options from the menu. The wait staff is very friendly and responsive, and you don’t have to wait long for anything. Warning: when you get tea it’s usually so hot(the tea and the cup) that you might expect to see a couple of hobbits wander in and toss a ring into it — you’ve been warned and the burned fingers are your own fault. I will certainly be coming back next time I’m in the neighborhood.

Sashimi was fresh with a wonderful presentation. I had the sashimi sampler(hamachi, tuna and salmon) and was happy really happy with the portion. I also had the dragon roll which was decent. Like some other mentioned it did tend to fall apart a little to easy, and it lacked the flavor I was looking for. All in all, it’s a nice little place. I’m not a tourist but a business traveler frequently in San Francisco, and I wasn’t thinking man I am in a tourist trap. Service was attentive and friendly as well.

Friendly wait staff. Sushi was good and pretty decent size. The bad reviews for the Ramen are true unfortunately. Stick with the sushi. The waiter was kind enough to remove the Ramen from my bill though. Good customer service.

Had sushi 3 times during my short stay in San Fran & this was by far the freshest & the best service. The amaebi was outstanding… Fresh, sweet and artistically plated. They offers it to me live for just slightly more money, but I opted out. Also had the spicy miso ramen. Warming, flavorful and filling. I was solo & it was a comfortable location to sit by myself at the bar. Good traffic on a Saturday night but not too busy to get a spot.

I’m only occassionally in San Francisco, but this is by far the best sushi for the price. You can fill up on some of the freshest, most flavorful pieces, and walk out satisfied with the meal and the bill. Highly recommended, especially for someone who is just visiting.

Tourist trap indeed. I should know as I was a tourist and was also fooled by the good reviews. Arrived right before 6pm Sunday after our hike to Lombard Street. Place was empty and we were seated promptly. We got the soft shell crab to start. This was pretty good, not the best, but certainly the best thing I tried here. I got the spicy ramen and this was super bland. I had to put a bunch of togarashi in it for some flavor. The noodles were overcooked, as was the meat. Nothing was good about it. I also ordered a negi hama maki. The fish tasted pretty fresh but all the rolls were made poorly as they fell apart. Also, some pieces had green onion while others did not. The fish to rice ratio was good though. The boo overall enjoyed his bento box but he is easy to please. He did note that his beef teriyaki was overcooked as well. Our service was good. Staff was friendly, waters refilled and food came out at appropriate times, but food is average at best.

Found this little gem walking back from Ghiardelli Square, and only a couple blocks from our Marriott hotel. The staff was all Korean, so I was able to order in my broken Korean accent. The ramen was delicious, not the best I’ve had but certainly up there. Our waitress was very friendly and attentive throughout our meal, can’t wait to return on our next visit — Best, Charlie

These reviews though… I don’t understand them at all. I must say, the only reason that I didn’t give 1 star is because the staff were patient with us. We came for a friend’s birthday dinner and had about 7 people(the majority of which came late). As each of us came in, we were asked the typical, «would you like water or tea» and it was a pretty cold night so I opted for the tea this time. This is just my take on it, but tea is generally free so it’d be great if you told us that you charge $ 2.50 for tea. Anyways, I ordered the special ramen w/extra ramen. Despite what the name suggests, it was not special… at all. The ramen was very bland and heavy, nothing going on terms of flavor. The only good part of the ramen was the single piece of pork belly. Like I understand how the décor and everything is super nice and all. But I can’t help but feel like I was deceived. In the end, I paid around $ 23 for my ramen and tea… So not worth, I totally fell for a tourist trap, but then again, it was for someone’s birthday.

For a touristy area, this little place is great. It’s not cheap, but they can get away with their teensy markups because of the location and because it’s so good. Their nigiri was impeccable– really beautiful yellowtail cut with precision and it showed. I also loved their Blossom roll with its fresh tuna and salmon plated in a gorgeous bloom. How sweet. Nice that they have Ashai on tap, too. The space is small but clean and steps from the waterfront. My one gripe? Service was super slow and when you’re toting a 4-month-old, time is if the essence!

Why haven’t i reviewed this sooner? This is one of my favorite place. I LOVE this place. I came here with my boyfriend for our anniversary. Once we got there, we were seated immediately with welcoming staffs. I don’t really eat a lot of salads, but my favorite here would have to be the salad. I am not sure what kind of dressing it is, but i could eat that salad everyday and be happy. Service, décor, vibe, which was all good. Overall 5 stars. We had the best service i’ve ever gotten in an restaurant from grace. The owner grace she did an outstanding job at accommodate us for our special romantic night. We’ll going to make a excuse to come back here again! Hahaha. I will definitely be back.

I ordered the chirashi don and a friend got the Ramen(miso). The egg in the ramen was not fully cooked(yay!). The chirashi at $ 25 was definitely not cheap and the sushi rice had too much vinegar and pickled veggies. There was a wide variety of fish, which was fresh but not extremely fresh and I’ve had much fresher in Seattle and Vancouver for the same price range. Overall, the chirashi lacked quantity and there were no high-quality fish to compensate. I would not return for the chirashi, as I search for an alternative. Instead, I might try something cheaper on the menu. Service was slightly below average due to the slow-ness despite a half-empty restaurant. The green tea was great but unfortunately cost extra. The restaurant seems to be owned by Koreans, so trying some of their Korean dishes might be a good idea.

Came to this place after returning our bike rentals at Blazing Saddles next door. Reviews looked good so we decided to give it a try! My friend and I both got the special ramen. Broth was pretty flavorful, with a slight peppery finish. I enjoyed the eggy noodles and the texture. The bok choy was a nice touch but you only get half and egg, and it was on the runnier side. Service was okay, as the place filled up, service got spottier. The place is interesting, and they have a rather extensive menu that goes from sushi to ramen to Arnold Palmers lol. Bathrooms are for customers only!

This place is a borderline 5-star for me! Atmosphere: Looks pretty average, but clean and cozy. Good for a casual meal with friends. Food: The food is so interesting. We got the chicken teriyaki entrée and Bay Roll, and I’m a fan of both. The teriyaki is especially tasty, and the side salad has an exotic dressing. The Bay Roll was good, but I’ve definitely had better scallop based rolls before so that was a slight disappoint. No complaints about the Service!

Wow!
