I tried happy dumpling when I visited off the grid with friends. I didn’t love their dumplings. Strange texture to the dumpling, it seems breadier than it should. Despite the rave reviews, I’m not a fan.

Delicious. Cheap. No wait time. Totally recommend it. In my opinion, Chicken-Cilantro is the best. Pork-Cabbage is pretty good too.

Pork with cabbage dumplings(3 for $ 4) were pretty tasty. The dumpling skin was thick and perfectly pan fried. I also got their special that night, which was a pork belly dumpling($ 2) and that was a bust. It was incredibly bland. Dumplings are a pretty good size though, definitely bigger than they appear in the pictures.

We found these guys at Off the Grid at Ft. Mason one Friday night. We ordered a chicken and cilantro, pork and cabbage, and shrimp and chive. What we got was a chicken and cilantro, pork and cabbage, and vegetarian. LAME. Of course, we didn’t realize this until taking a massive bite out of it. The dumplings are just okay. Decent amount of filling, and the dough is okay. Nothing special. Would I return? Likely not. I know better places for dumplings…

My friends and I went to Off the Grid where there was a large collection of many food trucks. we tried dishes from 3 different trucks and this place was definitely a favorite. Even though I’m asian, I don’t think I ever tried dumplings like this before! they weren’t small and moonshaped like dumplings I’ve had before. these were shaped like tiny bags or sacks, flat and fried on the bottom. they were filled with various things — we ordered chicken, tofu, pork, veggies. I only tried the veggie one but I thought it was super tasty. especially when dipped in the accompanying vinegar sauce with some Sriracha, mmm yum! this place is worth the wait in line and the deal of 3 dumplings for $ 4 is pretty reasonable

I was bummed last week because at 10:30 they had no dumplings ready. Which I don’t get, don’t they know they are coming here at 9:30 to serve food?! So I happened to be here again a week later and they did have the dumplings ready at 10:30 We had the chicken, veggie, and pork They all were delicious I think the chicken had the strongest flavors with all the cilantro. Unfortunately, the pork tasted the best because it was the only one that was warm. The other choices were lukewarm to cool at best. Bummer The sauces are nice, too. Soy, siracha, sweet chili, and their homemade one. Last week we walked here from Lands End. Today we walked here from the Marina Green and the yoga festival. This afternoon, Figaro!

Love the Happy Dumpling truck. The pork w/cabbage and the vegetarian dumplings are delicious. I love that it is fluffy, giant, and a little bit crispy on the bottom. They were perfection on a chilly night at OTG Ft Mason. On a recent trip back I had tried the shrimp and it really was a miss — extremely fishy(and I like fishy) with no flavor. Pork and veggie are still way to go. And 3 for 4 bucks is about as good as any deal anywhere in this city. Typically there is a long line for this but for some reason there wasn’t the last time and I took full advantage. I wouldn’t wait more than 10 minutes for this just based on the pure competition of all the other trucks– But I digress — I’m giving away too much strategy as it is. Definitely worth a try! I’ll be back!

I wake up every Sunday excited to eat Happy Dumplings. The pillowy, chewy, and crispy pan fried dumplings are truly a treat for your mouth, belly, and soul. There is a huge line no matter the hour but the wait is worth it. For $ 4, you get three delicious dumplings of your choice. The choices are: — Chicken and cilantro — Pork and cabbage — Shrimp and chive — Vegetarian with glass noodles, carrots, mushroom All are great but I really recommend the chicken and cilantro dumpling if it’s your first time! Out of the 4, I least recommend getting the shrimp. I’ve gotten the shrimp a couple times and one time, there was no shrimp in it. The other times, there would just be one small tiny piece in it. This place is such a great addition to Fort Mason’s farmer’s market.

Omg Happy Dumplings is f***ing life. Every Sunday I make the walk over to the Fort Mason farmer’s market solely for these dumplings. I’ve tried every kind but my favorite is definitely the chicken cilantro. My personal least favorite is the pork and cabbage, i wouldn’t recommend getting it unless you really love cabbage… a lot. The outside of these dumplings is really doughy and sort of sweet and the insides are super flavorful and savory. Also for $ 4 these things are filling!

Had this at the farmers market at fort mason. there was a huge line for it but it was worth the wait. you get 3 giant dumplings for 4 dollars, they are juicy meat is cooked and seasoned perfectly. The outside of the dumpling has just the right amount of crispy and chewy. I just became a fan of it. I will surely check this out if its in the area. Its a prefect snack.

Tried these guys’ dumplings at Off The Grid, and they were so good. I loved the chicken cilantro dumplings. The dough is thicker than dumpling dough you’re probably used to, but it’s perfectly chewy, soft and goes perfectly with the juicy, tender filling. You can tell they make them fresh. Super reasonable prices too. I could eat these every day! Don’t forget to grab some Sriracha and soy sauce before you go!

happy dumplings is always a go-to when i go to OTG. i like to keep it simple and just dress my dumplings with soy sauce… i don’t like drowning out the flavors… their dumplings have the right bite and crust on the them. i always eat six. always!

Best dumplings I’ve ever had. I could live off of these dumplings. I wish I had a house made out of these dumplings, I would eat through the walls. I would eat through a swimming pool full of them all Double Dare style.

Wow. Mind blowingly delicious vegetarian dumplings! Don’t let the simple/bland sounding menu description fool you, like it almost did me. These dumplings are fresh, tasty and some of the best I have had. Love the do-it-yourself gratuitous sauce side table as well, soy, chili, sriracha. yes please!

We chowed down on Happy Dumpling’s potsticker goodies at Off the Grid Ft. Mason recently– delicious! At $ 4⁄3 dumplings, it’s well-priced, accompanied with great sauces, and there are 4 or 5 varieties(at least) to choose from. We tried 3 different varieties and all were great. I’m sure I will patronize these guys again at a future OTG.

This is becoming our Sunday lunch … damn their dumplings sell out hella fast! Thus, once the sis and me find parking … I stand in line… text her when I’m close so she can pick what dumplings she wants… So far… we’ve had only their vegetable and chicken… we have yet to try the others since they sell out… but from those two choices… we were sold. They’re plump filled with stuffing… juicy… NOTOILY… and oh so damn good. Definitely worth standing in line so you have stamina to get your organic food stocked up!
