No one taught me how to do laundry. How to separate and fold. No one kissed my boo boos or spoon fed me broth when I was little and sick. I had a shitty childhood. Thankfully, the beautiful folks at Hayes Cleaners wash a fold with military precision. Amazing.

Consistently friendly and nice. They are very quick and very affordable. Much better than many of the other wash and fold services around!

Extremely unprofessional, my stuff is never ready on time, they’ve nearly lost my things on several occasions.

The best personal service ever. We drive all the way across town because they are so nice!

I’ve always gotten good cleaning results here, and pretty standard prices. The lady knows me and makes conversation. FYI, sometimes her manner is such that it seems like she’s yelling, but she doesn’t mean it in a bad way. She’s nice.

They ruined my clothing and would not do anything to fix the situation.
I will not go back there ever again.

I love my neighborhood dry cleaner. Here’s why:

+ Good quality for dry cleaning and alternations (although if it’s a complicated alteration then I’d probably go to a more reputable tailor)
+ Loyalty card which gives you one free cleaning for every 10
+ Open on Saturdays
Given the convenience and reasons above, they are my go-​to dry cleaners.

I don’t like ironing dress shirts. This is probably because I know how to do it with aplomb, and find myself spending upwards of ten minutes preening carefully while bathed in steam. And I’m all for a good schvitz, but my time is too valuable to be standing around my apartment dragging hot metal against textiles. I suppose this is why people secure companionship (besides the tax breaks and procreation) but that’s a rash course of action for wrinkle-​free garb. Why am I telling you all this?
So that you understand precisely the level of gratitude I have for Hayes Cleaners. I stopped in on a Saturday afternoon with a white button-​down shirt and a prayer. I needed it for an event THAT evening, and I thought I would try my luck. Without batting an eye, they told me that they would call me in a few hours. And they freaking did.
Don’t be alarmed by the fact that it looks like someone dumped a shipping container of clothing inside. They do good work and their prices are fairly reasonable. They will bristle if you try to pay with a credit card, but they aren’t total dicks about it like some other places. I recommend.

Need to mention: They have a loyalty card. Ten visits gets you an item cleaned for free.
What this place teaches me about myself: I don’t understand dry cleaners. I think they just wrap stuff in plastic.

Great local spot. Walking distance to my apartment which makes it convenient. But convenience is the only thing they have going for them.
The rates for dress shirts and slacks isn’t bad and they do a pretty good job.
Plus the owners are super nice and remembered me after the first time being there.

Excellent family business. They are always friendly and my clothes look great when I pick up my dry cleaning.
I also like their «buy 10 dry cleanings get one dry cleaning free card».
I hope that they can also transition into using more eco friendly dry cleaning products in the near future, though if they already are I would like them to advertise it.

This place is awesome, as many other Unilocalers have noted the couple that runs Hayes Cleaners is very friendly and, yes they are Asian, yet I fail to see how this is even remotely relevant to their respective experiences?
You all sound like a bunch of racists, seriously, go to another dry cleaner, you only have to walk two blocks and you’ll find another, right in front of Lucky supermarket, but they don’t nearly as good of a job. And guess what they are Asian too!
Also Hayes Cleaners is dog friendly, and they always have a full jar of dog cookies for your furry friend. Bring you pup on an empty stomach because they will feed them a million treats until you tell them to stop! Although my dog has never complained!
Overall a great place, with fantastic service and great hours too! Always open for me after I get off from work in the evening hours.

I’m giving this place a coo-​bowse out of bowse rating, because, well, that’s exactly what it is. The couple running Hayes cleaners is extremely nice and extremely asian. I dropped some pants off to get hemmed on a wednesday, and picked them up friday. Easy.
Also, never mind the clutter when you’re there… that’s how you know it’s good (i think).

These people have been doing my laundry since I started law school. It is better than having my mom do my laundry. They don’t lose socks and take money instead of guilt. Not much more expensive than the laundromat across the street — at max, $ 2 more, and plus I get to spend the time reading in the library instead of with the homeless guy on Hayes. I drop it off in the morning, the cute couple asks me if I need it on my way home from school or tomorrow morning, emergency=on my way home; have clean underwear for tomorrow=tomorrow morning. Seriously the best laundry experience I have ever had. Bring cash, they round down. And they know all their regulars — it’s awesome. It scares me to know they know my wardrobe better than I do.

I absolutely love the person working there! She is so nice and helpful, I used them for the dry cleaning and all come back nice and ironed and well, clean… which is what important… They have a discount if you clean a lot of items (like a card they stamp for you). The lady remember me and asked a question following on our conversation from a month ago… I was impressed :) In any case — I like that place and would recommend it.
P. S. I do not have a perfect English, thank GOD it didn’t prevent me from finding a job…

I bought a vintage, sheer silk dress that turned out to be way more delicate than expected (over a year or so I have had to mend several seams). After a recent night of dancing, the dress was completely falling apart and I brought it by Hayes cleaners expecting them to say it was beyond repair. Not only did they restore it PERFECTLY (using a sheer thread), they were so lovely to meet.
I wouldn’t bring my business anywhere else.

Hayes Cleaners is one of the things that my husband and I will miss most about this neighborhood now that we are moving.
I have a question: since when is whether a dry cleaner speaks perfect English relevant to the question of dry cleaning itself? I am really surprised at how some people seem to resent the fact that perfect English is not spoken here and that your dry cleaner (not your insurance broker, your financial consultant, your primary care doctor or customer service for a major company) is not great on the phone.
The lovely couple who work here always chat with my husband and I when we drop things off. We enjoy learning more about their son and China. I am sure they don’t understand everything we say and we don’t understand everything they say, but we get by nonetheless. It is always a pleasant encounter and I feel like we are just as much their acquaintances as customers.
I have had several (probably more than 10) things altered here. I love trying on my outfit and getting pinned up because it reminds me of when I was little and my mom would sew all my clothes. «Stand still!» my mom would say. The owner’s concentration reminds me exactly of my mother minus the scolding.
Oh yea, a word of advice— always trust this woman’s judgment about length, etc. I have a few times contradicted her on the length of pants (she tends toward the long) and she is ALWAYS right. I inevitably shrink the pants or they are just a bit too short with nice shoes. Her instincts are right on.
We have dry cleaned everything here in the last three years and I have felt like the prices were good, the turn around is as quick as you need it, and they have never ruined a piece of clothing. Then again, despite being a serious clutz, I don’t seem to have the James-​Bondian-​esque stains that some people seem to demand a dry cleaner fix.

I am pleased with my experience. The lady has been nice. They have been very helpful.
I have them do the fluff and fold. I get my clothes in and they come out clean and folded. It’s only $ 5 more for 2 weeks of laundry vs. coin laundry. Totally worth it for me.
My finace had them dry clean $ 100 worth of pants… yes he has that many pairs… and the next time I went in she gave me 2 fully stamped out cards with 2 free dry cleanings to give him. She said he was talking so much she forgot to give them to him… which I can totally understand. ;)

I love this place, I mean really, love. They are located right down the block from me, which is extremely convenient. At first I started bringing my dry cleaning here. They always do a fantastic job and are always so fast. The lady who runs it with her husband is so funny, she always asks where I’m going to wear all these clothes to, and every time I reply, «oh, to a party I guess?» She probably thinks I’m either a.) an alcoholic, because I’m always bringing my party dresses here and that’s always the response I give, or b.) a party animal who has no life. Either way– I’m OK with it.
So recently I started bringing my laundry here for wash and fold, after my roommate talked me into it since our washer and dryer broke. I love how quick they get my laundry done! I’m obsessed, because now this means, no more waiting next to the weird homeless man in the laundry mat, no more searching for quarters or struggling to find change, no more wrinkled clothes because I’m too lazy to fold it all and put it back in my closet right away. Also, BIG BONUS, because if you mention that you’re a student they’ll give you either a student discount or a free dry-​cleaning coupon!

When I was in college, I considered the husband and wife team to be like family. They were so nice, efficient, and they put so much attention into my clothes.
When I lived in the Inner Richmond, I was lazy. I didn’t have a washer/​dryer in my apartment or even my building, so my laundry would just pile up. Then, I started using Hayes Valley Cleaners. They did all of my wash/​fold, as well as my dry cleaning.
Also, they delivered for free to me because they knew I didn’t have access to a car at that point in my life. If I lived even a little bit closer, I would still use them. I suggest them with the highest rating.
